Black cop fired after intervening on chokehold: I lost everything

  • Officials in Buffalo, New York, want an investigation into the firing of a black police officer who intervened when a white colleague had a suspect in a chokehold.
The incident happened in November 2006. At the time, Officer Cariol Horne had served 19 of the 20 years needed to receive her pension, a spokesperson for Horne told CNN.
But Horne was fired for intervening and did not qualify for her pension, the city said.
"The message was sent that you don't cross that blue line and so some officers -- many officers don't," said Horne in an interview with CNN's Brianna Keilar.

seriously! Greg Kwiatkowski was later sentenced to four months in federal prison in 2018 for using "unlawful and unreasonable force" against four Black teenagers. So the Buffalo police department chose to support a pathetic worm over an honorable, principled officer. We need reform and it's not going to happen if we keep chanting "defund the police" because people don't understand what that really means. We're never going to convince a boomer using that terminology. We know the way to cut down crime! Give people a reasonable, living wage and healthcare. It's really that simple. But Americans have been so brainwashed that unless we change our tactics, we are doomed to live this on repeat.

Black officers think they're part of the blue culture until they're used as the scapegoats. Last year here in Minneapolis were George was murdered, a black officer who was called for a possible burglary, shot and killed a white woman who had suddenly approached his vehicle late one night (turned out she was the caller). Well guess what? He was charged AND convicted of murder.... the first Minnesota (not Minneapolis) officer ever charged and convicted of murder. Now research how many lives have been lost to police brutality in Minneapolis alone.
It's a double standard when blacks are involved. I'm glad she's being vindicated, it's never too late.

I have been saying this for YEARS! I have lost friends over this! This cop's story is NOT an isolated event. When Trooper Donna Watts arrested a city cop for breaking the law it was OTHER COPS who harassed her to the point where she feared for her life and had to resign because it affected her health. It was COPS who said that if they ever heard that she had an active shooter situation, they would just not respond and back her up. And DOZENS upon DOZENS of other cops agreed! Because she did her job and arrested a cop who broke the law and put innocent civilians IN DANGER.. REPEATEDLY, they said they would leave her to DIE. THAT is exactly the attitude most cops in this country have, and it proves there is something very, VERY wrong with the system.
