@TtheTrooper You should try it out before deciding. While I prefer the Savage I have my own taste. Maybe the Krankenstein is perfect for you, cause it's still an awesome amp.
This is such an underrated amp. More versatile than people realize. Calabrese even used it for their second album and it is probably the best tone they have achieved.
@METALLICA6547 I think it is played in drop tuning aswell. But I changed it to standard so I didn't need to switch while playing ti with the cover band.
it was because of this video and asking Ola's opinion on it that i purchased this amp about a year and a half ago and i love it its and awesome amp and thanks for the recommendation and demo of it it truly is an awesome amp
Go the 6505. We were auditioning a spot for a 2nd guitarist this week for my band and it destroyed every amp it came up against. One guy even bought in a Mesa Dual Rec ( with every pedal you could imagine to compliment it ) and it just sounded 2nd rate compared to the 6505 ( with no pedals, just pure tube drive ). I would highly recommend it ( for metal ofcourse, the clean channel is nothing to get excited about ) Good luck with whatever you purchase, cheers mate
Holy shit man I didn't even know one of these prototypes were still around! Fantastic playing and I have been wanting to see one of these wail for years!
@metalpride15 wtf are you talking about? I answered no to Krow147 who asked if I had the chance to do this kind of demo with the Krank Rev Jr that I had at the same time...
I just bought this Amp and a 4x12 krank cab. I hope it sounds as good as this. Lol i know it won't but i will enjoy it anyway. Ty Ola for this you inspired me to get back into playing again.
Oh hell yes... I have a Krank RevOne purchased new back in the day. I made the mistake getting the Krankenstien Cab because they were out of the regular cab. Mistake because the voicing was totally off, sounded like garbage together. so a buddy sold me a Marshall slant and I took the greenbacks and put them in the insane Krankenstein solid wood cab. sounded million times better. I had an amp guy switch the tubes to hotter tubes, Ruby somethings. Brand new the Krank head was 2k and the cab was 1k. very pricy for a newish amp at the time. Also the amp really only sounded best cranked up to live levels. we were the loudest band, my lead guitarist has a Triple Rec hah. It records beautifully and the clear channel was dead quiet. Live the amp sounded so good. brutal heavy deep bass sound. Nice review! Hello Ola this is my first comment... I think Here is a recorded song with both the Triple Rec and the Krank. ruclips.net/video/yfFiKalU1EY/видео.html
When Dime was in Pantera, he used Randall amps. He went to Krank after Pantera, when he was in Damageplan. But if you go to Ola's website, you'll see that he's sponsored by Randall. Either way, this sounds great!
@tc8849 he didn't exactly use it. He was designing it with Krank before he passed. On the Damageplan tour he was using a Revolution head. But still, the closest you'll get to his tone or use it to find your own massive sound.
I appreciate the fact that this is NOT some shitty play along with the original (of which you see millions on youtube) but your own recording from scratch ... also you show a extremely decent performance !!!
@bchamorro I can answer that hopefully. He's using the Mesa Boogie Roadster 2X12 with Vintage 30 speakers I believe. More information can be obtained about his signal chain at his blog if your curious. Hope I answered your question. :)
@JTNorquay It's not sarcasm and if you have a nice guitar with decent pups plus a nice interface yes, GR4 is very good. Marco Sfogli recorded most of the tracks on his album using GR4 plus for a few things he used a Mesa Lonestar I think.
Well there was this one italian woman who owned a local pizza shop. God I was so sad the day I met her. They had really good pizza that I swore I would never eat again. Thanks for bringing up such painful memories.
Hey man, Excellent demo! I think the krankenstein would truly shine with a Krank cab or any cab with eminence speakers...But very nice video indeed! Thanks
@NickoTheGuitarist At his blog he said he was trying to match dimebag's tone on the vulgar display of power album mainly on the song "A New Level". He scooped the mids to help achieve a more accurate sound, he said it's not normally what he goes for but again he was trying to get a similar tone to dimebag's. So unless you didn't like dimebag's tone or scooped mids in general than that's all I can say. I'm not trying to troll, I'm just giving a possible reason for not liking the sound.
OK, what is it about Sverige? First, Yngwie Malmsteen, and now Feared with Ola. I think I need to move there, brutally beautiful metal seems to come up from the ground there.
The peavey vypyr Krank modeler is the best modeler on that amp in my opinion. I think it's tone is more metal than the dual rectifier, the 6505, the diezel, etc modelers. The vypyr of course doesn't do complete justice to the individual amps, but it does a pretty good job I think.
You got the best tube amp demo videos on youtube, no question. But there's one thing that makes them kind of useless: you never crank up, you hitting the strings is nearly as loud as the amp itself and thats not the right volume so that you can adjudicate on a 100W tube amp.
this video looks amazing for being 2010
Out of all the amp demos you've done, this Krank tone dominates
Bought my Krankenstein 7 years ago and it's still the heaviest tone I've ever heard.
buzzsaw63 see waht you did there
I remember playing on one of these in the music store10-15 years ago, as bad ass as it is, this video cant replicate how savage this rig is in person.
Idk I think the randall 1503 is better
R.I.P DIMEBAG & R.I.P KRANK AMPS
A NEW LEVEL
OF CONFIDENCE
AND POWER
@TtheTrooper You should try it out before deciding. While I prefer the Savage I have my own taste. Maybe the Krankenstein is perfect for you, cause it's still an awesome amp.
This is such an underrated amp. More versatile than people realize. Calabrese even used it for their second album and it is probably the best tone they have achieved.
@curtisbrooker go for it the kranks are awesome!
2:53 best lick I've ever heard!
@TtheTrooper the savage no doubt. It was my main amp for 5 years.
This is fantastic. The sound is just about right. You rock Ola!
Dimebag was a beast on the guitar! Saw Pantera in Arlington, Tx. best concert I ever went to, and in my hometown! 😈
@METALLICA6547 I think it is played in drop tuning aswell. But I changed it to standard so I didn't need to switch while playing ti with the cover band.

@TokiTheSlayer I would say smoothly rounded-

@gasly678 I buy Behringer V-amps, switch the casing to look like a POD HD and sell them for more than 4 times the price.
I loved the dog part!
2011 needs more Pantera already !
Badass job Ola !!!
I agree!
You RULE man! I could watch your videos all day long. You have the cleanest metal tone on Earth!
@metalpride15 wtf are you talking about? I answered no to Krow147 who asked if I had the chance to do this kind of demo with the Krank Rev Jr that I had at the same time...
Fan vad jag älskar dina videor, skit bra ljud och skit bra kvalité på allt!
Sinnes! Ha det!
Pantera - A New Level !!! Very nice choice, Ola !
love this song, amp, the playing, and your dog
Absolutely fantastic solo!
I just bought this Amp and a 4x12 krank cab. I hope it sounds as good as this. Lol i know it won't but i will enjoy it anyway. Ty Ola for this you inspired me to get back into playing again.
Where from?

@ironforcerocks you're probably listening to it in mono...
@D34n0Thund3r nikon d7000
@Krow147 no...
Nicely done!
awesome videos, quality, songs and incredible guitar playing!!
Love the dog at 0:37 lol!! You do indeed rule Mr. Englund dog included.
Just reminded me of how much Dimebag and Pantera are missed in the music world.
Very nicely done!
Guitar Center in Boise, ID has one right now in mint condition used for $1,099.00 pretty good deal, I would use an Engl Pro Cab with this beast!!
Ola, I have been listening to your riffs for a long time. You also are a beast on the guitar!😈
I appreciate the fact that this is NOT some shitty play along with the original (of which you see millions on youtube) but your own recording from scratch ... also you show a extremely decent performance !!!
how have i forgotten how sweet dimebag's riffs are? thanks for reminding me Ola
Hell yeah love some Pantera
@bchamorro I can answer that hopefully. He's using the Mesa Boogie Roadster 2X12 with Vintage 30 speakers I believe. More information can be obtained about his signal chain at his blog if your curious. Hope I answered your question. :)

I used the same amp to record an album and I own its cousin the Rev One. Fantastic high quality amplifier.
Hey man,
Excellent demo! I think the krankenstein would truly shine with a Krank cab or any cab with eminence speakers...But very nice video indeed! Thanks
Killer sound and rockin' man!!
Awesome Dime tribute brother, keep kickin ass!!!
A FUKIN'AWESOME ONE!
TUFF Riff. One of my Fav
You've got and earned you're self a new subscriber!
Best KRANK demo.
i was waiting for this!!! very nice dimebag sound :)
Yes, although he didnt receive the Krankenstein in shortly after his death. In damageplan he was using the Rev.
Ola please make a new video with our favorite amp (Mesa Dual) ^_^
miss that sound..
@Abyssvx actually his guitar tech said it was 1/4 step down from e, or some shit like that
for real, that's some nice crunch.
@NickoTheGuitarist At his blog he said he was trying to match dimebag's tone on the vulgar display of power album mainly on the song "A New Level". @FinalFantasyCenter I believe he used to own a Washburn Stealth, but i could be wrong
i was just watching an episode of Metalocalypse and just saw a silver pic of dime on the bottom right corner of these amp in the episode lol.
it would be interesting to see playthrough
Even your burp at 2:54 has a brutal tone!
The Krank sounds great
Haha I changed the browser and after I while I thought for a sec, "When did For Whom The Bell Tolls get so badass?" xP Nice vid man, keep them coming.
@ 1:26 "THAT's RIGHT!!!" Haven't heard A New Level in a minute. Takes me back.
damn!! Awesome tone and tight playing :)
YES!!!!!!!!!!! IT FINALLY HAPPENED! YOU DID A KRANK DEMO!
Only amp i've ever bought, and the only company i trust for true high gain sounds:)
@slayer666metallica He borrows the amps from friends to do these demos, he gives credit in his info sections
OK, what is it about Sverige? First, Yngwie Malmsteen, and now Feared with Ola. I think I need to move there, brutally beautiful metal seems to come up from the ground there.
2:54 looooooool
Amazing sound! \m/
have to agree. krank cabs are amazing in my opinion.
I like the kind of growl in the lows... palmmutes sound a bit hollow, I like that.
Heaviest riff at 2:54
A NEW LEVEL!!!!
@duvall375 I hope so! find someone that owns one in sweden...
@Abyssvx yea ive seen him do it in standard too
Fuck yeah! Awesome playing & tone.
@Eriklju There is nothing wrong with it, it's just being played in drop C instead of D
@killshotuk Strange that doesn't sound right. Maybe you're using to much gain?
Awesome, Pantera cover and amp demo in 1 \m/
A new level!!!!!
you actually made me wanna buy this amp
PANTERA - A NEW LEVEL!!!!! Love that Song! Nice Viedo ;)
perfect demo no talk more sound thank you
The closest I have to this amp is the krankenstein setting on the peavey vypyr
The peavey vypyr Krank modeler is the best modeler on that amp in my opinion. I think it's tone is more metal than the dual rectifier, the 6505, the diezel, etc modelers. The vypyr of course doesn't do complete justice to the individual amps, but it does a pretty good job I think.
your dog is awesome
That bit with Bosse makes me laugh every time. XD
A NEW LEVEL! OF METAL!
What a soooooound!!!!🤩
2:54 is the best sound ! only*
Your Dog is the coolest thing in this Video ;)^^
The Minibully is so cute :)
This Amp Rocks
A NEW LEVEL

@dimestyle5150 You maybe able to find a used ENGL Fireball or Blackmore for $900-$1200 somewhere, and you could use about $500 for an Orange 2x12
Awesome man.
My two dogs always come into my room and sit right by my setup whenever i start chugging lol
