Tried some of these sounds out yesterday, pretty good but I still think there a better user made captures that people have uploaded themselves and you can access for free (if you have the Tonex plugin). Some of these guys really know what they're doing and got some amazing metal tone captures. More than i'll ever need.
@@harshtruth9148 I want something physical that will do the best job of modelling the feel of American amps. The British stuff will get covered by a Friedman IRX
More bass, more gain approx 9 min in is the sound! The Triple Rectifier after is also great. Great representation of the classic Rectos. However, I'd love them to also include the Multiwatts and Badlander.
It's actually the main reason I still own it. I have an HX Stomp inside my band's rack, and use Helix Native at home to track guitars. Once I get a good tone, I upload it to the HX. There is no better option for this combination as of this moment, specially because of the size.
Sounds awesome. That being said, 3:50 is basically my one gripe with profilers. Did someone put a compressor with a slow release on the audio track? When you're using your own IR, I'm noticing a momentary volume drop on the chugs. 10:30 Dude, what! Amplitube 5 has been out for 3 years now 🤣🤣🤣 It's terrific for experimenting with pedal placement, signal chains, how every piece of gear interacts with each other etc. But some of their high gain models have much less gain than they should have (looking at you, Mesa!), and for some fuck-all reason, the three standard mics (Dynamic 57, Condensers 87 and 414) are horribly out of phase with all the other mics - and as of now, they haven't gotten around to addressing that. 3 years now...
Minor correction...the Tonex Pedal doesn't play any role in capturing. You need the Tonex Max app and a) Audio interface and reamp box B) Audio interface and the Tonex capture box.
Hey! Very nice. Sorry in advance if you made it already, but if not, could you make a short video where you show how you plug your guitar to your computer? What do you use? Thanks a lot 😊.
No worries, there are plenty of videos out there showing this. What you need is some sort of an external audio interface. If you're a beginner I highly suggest the UAD Volt 1 that has a single microphone and guitar input. It's fairly well priced for its quality. When I'm doing videos at the office (like in this video for instance) I'm using a bigger audio interface called the Apogee Ensemble. But in general it works the same as the smaller audio interfaces except that it has more inputs/outputs/features. Good luck man!
It has same the familiarity for sure. But really, it sounded like plugin. Been playing Mesas for 20 years now, so I’d say I recognize the tone instantly.
Awesome! Hey Ola, can you pleeeeez get Richard Kruspe on your show to talk about the early IR days and killer TONES??? That dude did a lot to bring this new dimension of metal tone into digital and he deserves an appearance! RAMMSTEIN 🤘🤘
@@OlaEnglundIt's been a pleasure following your channel for 10 years since you made the "Monster of Hi-Gain" video (Premier Guitar channel, I guess)! Did you remember, dear Ola? It was killer!😎
Sounds really good! Amplitube is actually a viable replacement of hardware these days. Geez it sounds fucking excellent, and that is without you tweaking anything.
The Positive Grid Bias Amp head will do the same thing with loading a preset you like onto the actual hardware as well, but it falls way behind due to the lack of effects. PG missed a big trick with that mistake. Looks like ToneX really took advantage of that
Out of all the amps i tried on the tonex a random dual rectifier i downloaded is what ive been using at practice. Ive found a few that are better than the old valvestate already
Howdy Ola, question for plugging into Tonex. I've been tweaking the input gain from Tonex (and other amp sims) to get it right, but i was seeing some of your chugs were red lighting. Are you just keeping it at unity and letting it ride? Interfaces and such differ, but was curious since hearing about that input stuff in another video
Hey Ola, I just picked up your "The One" IR for your shop and it sounds great with my Neural plugin. Just wondering if you offer this one for sale on your shop?
Hey ola, loved the video as always, I just have a quick question, I’ve seen that you restocked on the chop chop blitz guitar, once it sells out will it keep coming back in stock once in a while as I’d love to save up and buy this guitar for myself. Love from Poland 🇵🇱 🤘
Build your sounds in the plugin and export it to the device? Helix can do that for years now. I mean it costs more than double the price, but it can definitely do exactly that^^ I‘m really tempted by the ToneX with the Mesa Pack. I use Amplitube CS with the Dual Rectifier and 2x12 Rectifier Cab at home for years now and it sounds really good🤘

Can you do another amp in the room vid series ola its been awhile since you did that series loved hearing you play certain metal songs with mics placed everywhere
Is that an overlay of video on audio so as to minimize the inherent delay, as opposed to a live capture? My Axe II has been killing me with pick-to-ear lag. It's milliseconds, but I can't help, but hear that response just lagging :(
I think with all the digital models, it’s best to use them to APPROXIMATE the tone you want, but not expect it to REPLICATE it. I love my Diezel model, but having never played one, I have no idea if it’s accurate or not. And it really doesn’t matter.
Ive been thinking about getting the tonex but now the new two notes opus came out so Im not sure. Ive been using the genome plugin and the tonex plugin (freeware) and seems to me that the genome has better sound, the tonex sounds a bit gritty. Not sure if the pedal tonex has better quality than the plugin. Any recommendations? Please. The opus or tonex? Thanks community and Ola!
Amazing! NeuralDSP has been promising to do this with the Quad Cortex for years now, but while they’ve been fucking around and not accomplishing anything, IK/ToneX just threw it in their faces. Strong work!
I tried it and I think it's good but not great. Mercuriall Rectofire, ML 5 & Fluff offer better tone (to my taste) for each individual amp. If you were to buy these during one of the many sales they are also roughly the same price. I was very excited about the release but it is a pass for me.
I'm new to guitar plug-ins... how the hell do you guys decide which ones to buy? There are so many... it's overwhelming. I'm also confused by all the "ecosystems." Like to use this pack in my DAW, I have to buy a separate Tonex application or something?
you can load 3rd party plugins as a VST or AAX in any DAW. then just create a new track, load the plugin as an instrument and you're good to go choosing and discovering is part of the fun I find. I usually try to download them first and try them out, if they are baller, I buy them Currently very happy with Guitar Rig 7.
Wish they did a better job of what the 2C+ was known for, but they sound pretty good otherwise. Kinda just makes me wanna go out and hunt down an old 2 Channel Dual Rectifier though.
