    thank you for posting this i am in the process of getting the parts to replace a leaking heater core and seeing your video has made some of my worries go away unfortunately i still have to deal with the brittle plastic parts that i don’t want to break doing this does not look as difficult as i was expecting

    i removed my dash by a similar process that was posted in a forum not to long before you posted this, after removal, "life" happened and it took me until now to put in my "new" replacement dash, this vid was a great help in jogging my memory during the re-install process. Thank you.

    Hello, I would like help, I have a range rover p38 and I have a problem with the roof. when I close it it is in the right position it is what under the sky of the car ... in order to find it in the right position I have to do it manually .. I have to do some operation ..

    • @cltrovers

      Not sure what you mean. But look for the Rave manual. It details removing the motor and synching the motor to the roof. The motor is synched by the number of turns to know where the sunroof is. There are no sensors.

      Give yourself 3 days....1 to disassemble, 1 day to install the new heater core and a third day to put everything back. Each individual part is not hard to do just a lot of steps and things to remove

    Ciao,scriverò in italiano, un mio amico ha una p38 come questa ed ha problemi al climatizzatore. Secondo te c’è qualcosa di rotto dentro al riscaldamento/raffreddamento oppure semplicemente la ricarica del gas? Grazie

    Hi mate love your videos find them very helpful and easy to follow . Do you know much about the xyz switch on a p38 auto just been underneath to adjust the selector cable . My transmission will only go down to 3 won’t select 2 or 1 . So I undone the cable and even trying to select the and 1 and 2 by hand the arm on the switch won’t push down even with force . Car drives well in drive and revers selects park and neutral just can’t select below 3 . Any ideas thanks

    Why do you remove the top vents? Obviously the middle one needs to come out because of the sensors but the other ones can stay in?

    Enjoyed the video, was really curious about the shifter disassembly. I believe my brake shit interlock solenoid to have gone bad and was wondering if you had any quick tips about that project. Thanks for the help!

    • @cltrovers
      @cltrovers  2 года назад

      I had an issue with my solenoid as well. I could never diagnose the issue of why it was not getting an electric signal sometimes and it would leave me stranded. Unfortunately you need to remove the both side pieces of the center console to get access to the solenoid. I ended up cutting off the part of the solenoid that retracts when you press your foot on the brakes and the shifter is in park. This allows the shifter to move to R, N or D.....Technically I could move the shifter out of park without having my foot on the brake but this is the way Land Rover sold the P8 in Europe and Japan. I did not unplug the solenoid since I thought this may create an electrical issue

      @@cltrovers Finally got stranded today, had to crawl under the car and manually put the car in drive, and needless to say I do not want to do that again… If I follow the steps in this video to expose the gear selector can I see the solenoid at that point? Im a little confused about taking off both side panels. Thanks again for all your help!

    • @cltrovers
      @cltrovers  2 года назад

      @@maitinnes6797 for the side panels they are held on by 1 screw but you need to take off the window switches then the gear selector to be able to remove it. Also, if you remove the false bottom of the cubby it will expose 2 13mm nuts. If you loosen them you can move back the center console 2-3 millimeters. This will help remove the side pieces. Careful they tuck under the center stack trim that covers the air suspension switches

  • @murrayforsdyke4011

    I have just done mine. There is no need to forcefully remove the upper ducts by breaking the screws fitting. The duct compresses into itself exposing the dash bolts. There is no need to separate the air con pipes from the dash on each side. They come out with the dash.

    • @cltrovers
      @cltrovers  4 года назад

      I think you are right about that. Does the duct on the left side that is behind the steering wheel retract? That dash bolt may be the hardest bolt to get back in.

    Is it possible by any means to fit a P38 dash and steering wheel onto a Range Rover classic?

    • @cltrovers
      @cltrovers  4 года назад +1

      I don't believe so. I think Land Rover made the P38 wider than the Classic and Discovery. If you have the "Hard Dash" in your classic your best bet is the Discovery Dash
