Fantastic stuff, Lewis. We absolutely love our 2002 4.0 HSE and it is our forever car for when we are in the UK. Only coming to realise how lucky we having had so few issues so far. Binge-watching your stuff over here in Singapore now.

Well done ! That was the best how to I've seen . Now I'm sure I can do mine . I'll make me own cups to fit that c clamp , so they don't slide around . Nice to see someone who honestly shows how to do stuff without skipping bits , well done !
Guess I'll have to binge watch the other stuff .

I’ve just done the first set on the N/S of my discovery 2. Jesus… what a bloody job! We’ve owned the car from new and I’ve managed to get 203,000 miles out of the original ball joints so as you can imagine, they’ve been in some time (vehicles a 2001) but I never thought it would be so hard to remove the carrier!
I ended up having to cut the old ball joints and then but the carrier on the floor and they both popped out with a gentle whack with a hammer!
I’ve now decided to buy the Sykes and picot tool which is hundreds of pounds but if it saves me the stress I had with the G clamp it will be bloody worth it!
Any video is most welcome and when it comes to doing the other side I’ll be watching this again.. cheers!

Glad it was helpful. you did well to get the amount of miles out of the original set. I have found the carrier to be the most difficult bit to remove sometimes. Good luck with the other side! least they wont need doing for a while!

Good job! I need to do one of mine but just because the rubber boot is split. I wish I could just somehow glue up the split in the boot, rather than spending at least a day wrestling with everything else.
