Nice to see a P38 being cared for and some videos on the maintenance. I find mine very competent at greenlaning but also pleasant to do a days driving without getting too tired.
Came across your channel by chance but coincidentally am about to replace all wheel bearings and axle seals.

After watching your video before having to change my CV joint, there is one thing I found a better way of doing. Those sodding spring clips. Turns out if you slide the spacer over the clip, it holds them nicely in place for when you fit the joint. One swift tap with a plastic hammer to send everything home. It avoids the hassle of fighting to poke it in while getting covered in grease and needing to rope in an extra set of hands.
Tip top walk through otherwise, helped seeing what I was doing before having to do it. Cheers.

      Hi
      Thank you for message!
The new CV joint came with a clip retainer but did not help😆
      But yes would definitely been
      Easier for sure👍
Glad helped with your install 👍
      Cheers

@@all4x451 I watched this video as a reference, and then used @P5YcHoM4N tip about the using the spacer,
and it clicked home perfectly without using a hammer.
      Great success!

Good job! The CV isn’t the most fun but you made it look easy. Hopefully the hub and cv setup lasts a while before needing attention.

So do you have to buy the hub complete if you just have a broken stud?

    • @all4x451
      @all4x451  Год назад +1

      Hi Brian
If you brake a stud you can buy them separately, if your bearing needs replacing you can buy separately also! In our case the bearing damaged the original hub, so had to replace complete hub👍

@all4x451 Thank you for replying so quickly. I have a new stud, but I am unable to pull the hub from the driveshaft with my puller.
I thought it would be straightforward once I had removed the driveshaft retaining nut.

      Hi
Yes they are sometimes very difficult to remove, you will need to separate with chisel or something similar you may damage hub a little! Try and soak with penetrating fluid for a few days this will help!
