Thanks! I've been resto shaman main for the majority of my game time as well so I was afraid people will call me biased but it is looking good right now, isn't it? :)
I have been playing resto druid forever. Pugged my way to KSM in S1 of DF. Never really played the other healers, shocked to see that other healers must be easier to play :) But I get why there is this perception. I think if you're just used to playing a druid in general, that resto is actually fairly straight forward. It's just that druid is inherently clunky with all the shapeshifting going on. That, plus you need solid encounter knowledge because the healing is proactive rather than reactive. I'd say, for new druids, just stick to caster form and if you feel you have room to DPS then just use moon/sunfire and spam wrath. Only later , when you're comfortable with the encounters and the spec should you start considering catweaving and other shenanigans. Going to have a good time switching to HPal and RSham this expansion with warbands.
Good druid tips! Also, I think that if you play one class long enough, it becomes second nature to you and it's easy even if it's the hardest spec in the game (kinda what happened to me and enhancement) but if it's someone just starting on it or not playing it regularly, it's a whole different picture.
Yeah, unfortunately healing is even harder if you don't have enough time to play and switch between specs as obviously the Blizzard policy is "if you are good, you are shit next patch and vice versa" :(
Having to do damage as a mistweaver in mythic plus is a positive attribute to the class, it contributes to the class fantasy perfectly and if damage conversion to healing were to ever be lost on mistweaver I would most likely swap spec. The worst thing about mistweaver, is having to mistweave > fistweave at any point, but thats subjective.
I agree, the only downside of fistweaving is when you are pushed out of melee for whatever reason and you can't hit the mobs/boss. As for the mistweaving, I know that's supposedly big part of the class fantasy but I'm such a NOT fan of it, that I avoid raiding all together unless I can go in with the fist build.
@@thelegendbehindthecow I was in love with mistweaver in DF and pre-patch and didn't enjoy the raiding experience either. I have been trying to optimize a melee oriented build for it but you're right. Great if you get an ads oriented fight though 😎
@@taylorg9074 From the little I've played and talking to the few MW that I played with in raid - the fistweaver build is not that horrible. It will not outperform the soothing mists stuff but it can get close and it could be viable even for some mythic fights so hopefully that at least stays the same in TWW, if not better :)
Fair comment, I remember I felt like this the very first time I picked up monk too but I think that was due to the fact that I didn't know what buttons to press and how to rely on damage to do the healing. After playing it for a bit and getting those basics down, I'd say this is definitely one of the easier classes to play in the healer field
This is taking in consideration the struggles priests are going to have in S1 with lack of interrupt/dispel and I might be a bit biased as holy priest is the least played spec for me but once MW clicks, it's one of the easier classes to play!
I really want to like resto druid for their class fantasy but it is hands down the worst designed healer. Their only pro is their top tier utility but it’s not enough to make up for their flaws. And it feels like it’s been this way since vanilla.
Totally disagree. Rdruid is crazy fun once you get the hang of it. It is extremely easy to keep your hots up in M+, and it has enough Instant Burst healing for the oh shit moments. Also, prehoting before damage is nowhere near as punishing as Disc Priest. Other than that, you can pretty much tailor it to your DPS tastes. You can play either Boomy or Cat, and although I play Boomy as a DPS spec, I find it much more satisfying and fun to do DPS in Cat form while restoing.
I played until legion, loved my resto dudu. Is sad to see many people say negative things about it with all its soecs but the bear. I love their fantasy theme, and the shapeshifting. I will try it still as a main but otherwise ai’ve been leveli g my shammy just i case
@@tiquismistica9417 I don't think druid is going to be bad actually, they are sending more tuning changes and especially if bear doesn't make it as meta tank, it could be the meta healer. It's just that playing it in pugs is usually not that pleasant and yes, shapeshifting is a lot of fun to play with but it's also not easy :)
I find disc overall easier to play. at least in DF S2, DF S3, As rdruid I have to apply multiple hots to players to keep them alive, on disc radiance and dpsing enemies was enough to keep them alive .I am talking about keys from old 15-19 range
There's merit to what you are saying, especially with the new KotG hero talents which can let you stay in caster form. Even if you decide to do no damage at all and just heal though, it still requires more skill and knowledge than disc which is pretty straight forward. As for evoker, yeah you can argue there, especially if they pick Flameshaper and have to deal with a whole new set of combinations between Engulf and the rest of their toolkit.
I definitely find MW one of the easiest healers to play although that's probably a bit biased as I've played it for awhile now. If it's between holy priest and pally - I'd say it's about the same. I should have probably put it in front of the hpal but again considering how it's looking going into TWW, you are probably going to have much harder time playing priest than pally
holy priest severely suffers in AoE healing when people are not stacked, and you resort to heal one by one. It is also squishy and wheelchairy. Holy Paladin has better aoe healing tools. Blizz really SHOULD have put that S4 tier set as a talent But maybe I m just tilted after healing Grim Batol ,Ara kara and city of threads as oracle hpriest. It did the job done, but I felt it required considerably more effort that hpal or rshammy Disc on the other hand has way easier time with aoe healing, but struggles with spot healing and feels miserable in pugs
It is in raid, in fact that was the meta there for MW in DF. I guess you could try and do it as ranged in M+ as well but that would be a bit weird there as healing should be fine but you'll do no damage at all... may be worth a try if you are into mistweaving instead of fistweaving!
Damn, I haven't thought about it from this perspective! I should start putting us bottom of every tier list so it doesn't happen the same way as hpal... :)
does not rshammy in TWW need to pre-spread riptides before big damage? Do you not need to save spirit walker if you have to heal on the move? I have not played monk for quite a while, but I think the easiest to play is hpal ,(hpal main though :D) .Ability to heal on the move, zero ramp time, holy power feels infinite. Only downside is poor mobility and running out of cds if your pug makes mistakes.
You can spread riptides while on the move which solves both these problems! Jokes aside, the volatile changes to the paladin and everything that Blizz has done to it lately makes me afraid to put it top tier. It might end up being there but the week-to-week changes kinda tell me that they don't know whether they want it to be pure melee or caster or something in between and having to constantly adjust is not that fun imo. I love the class though so I hope it ends in a pretty good spot :)
RShaman is by far the hardest of the healers to learn. They have by far the biggest kit and if you dont use it correctly you arent going to have much success. But that sort of goes for all healers
Huge toolkit but you can easily keep your party alive with 3-4 spells. Most of the toolkit is min/max. If you ignored most of the kit you would still have an easy time healing.
Definitely feel this list is biased which is normal of course. Resto druid has always clicked for me most. The ramp up time is not that bad if you have wild growth and flourish up. It's nowhere near as punishing as Discipline which is just fu*ed if you didn't prepare well. I also think MW is harder than you make it to be. That's probably cause I don't know it that well but there's no way it's easier than Holy Priest.
Fair points! I did say in the video that if rdruid vibes with you, then it's S tier for fun so I guess you are one of the people who fall in this category. As for MW, it is a little intimidating at the start but once you get the hang of it, it's definitely one of the easier classes. I accept the bias remark here though as holy priest is the class I've played the least although I think priests in general are going to have a hard time this season because of the stupid interrupt/dispel profiles that they keep pushing
I've been playing resto shammy for 6+ years & I agree they are very fun and very easy to play. Good class for a new healer.
Thanks! I've been resto shaman main for the majority of my game time as well so I was afraid people will call me biased but it is looking good right now, isn't it? :)

Fun or not, shamans current button bloat is by far the worst thing i ever seen in this game...
Can't argue there!
So no S tier in fun 😂
RSham hands down the most fun to play for me
I was terrible with Resto shaman but liked it the most of the healers!
Little practice and you can make any class work!
