Druid, due to its healing is either unviable or super easy. Its only complexity really comes from learning when to use cat form. If I had to recomend a new healer, Druid but only focus on healing, would be my recomendation
There is also the subjective POV. It depends how your brain works so to speak. For me Preservation is easier than Rsham, because, although you have a learning curve, it is a bit more scripted. You learn the combos and once you learn the content, you can adapt and utilize the strong cds as long as you are disciplined and not use them prematurely. For me Rsham is harder, as it is difficult for me to track totems, hots and also decide where to take the risk with longer casting spells. So I agree with you about the list, but it is still up to each player to try and see which playstyle is easier for him.
i would rly like to play Resto Shaman but bro...that button bloat is just disgusting. I cant get used to it bcs it feels way too much. Beside Druid all other healers are easy managable, for me.
Buttons bloat is scary until you start playing. For example, you will find the use of each ability once you start needing them (by increasing difficulty of content). It is more about being able to play a hybrid of both predictive and reactive healer. Shaman is just that and IMO this is a bit overwhelming (once you go into top 5-10% content). Also I think you can have some macros that would help you reduce the bloat. But yeah, it is still a thing, I agree.
Mained RSham in DF and loved it. It was the only healer I played where I wasn’t stressed when things went to hell in M+. I am going to also play HPal but not sure if it’s going to be main or alt. I guess I will have 2 mains 😝
I remember crying as Disc priest on the 3rd boss of Halls of Infusions then did the same key with Resto Shaman, i was like "that's it ?" i didn't even sweat a bit It's just crazy the gap between healers in terms of emotions.
I leveled every healer and got them all to 2500 M+ rating across season 3 and 4 and resto shaman is my favorite for sure. Mistweaver is a close second, but Resto Shaman just feels so much more impactful. So much utility it’s wild.
Spiritwalker's Grace is low key why I play Resto Sham. That and the totems. They have designed a spec around hard casting spells, but then you get a spell that lets you move while hard casting. It's an HPS increase, a personal survival increase, a DPS increase, it's a global increase on all levels, even in utility, it's actually kinda crazy. Plus it gives 20% movement speed. So if I don't even need to cast, I can pop it and go ghost wolf, avoid ground damage, 20% DR, 40% movement speed from Spirit Wolf and Graceful Spirit. Not to mention we can get Improved Wind Rush, which I use on bosses. Shaman is naturally rampy and layered, it can't just press a button to save someone unless it's Spirit Link. Even R Druid can Ironbark people and Druid is probably right above Sham in the external CD department, all they get is Ironbark and it isn't baseline. Problem with Cloudburst is it requires a separate GCD. So if you drop it and feed it and need the heal before 18 seconds, you need to press it again. I would have to see if it's worth it.
Paladin is easiest for me. Between word of glory holy shock holy power beacons and flash of light you barely have to stop moving to heal.Who needs spiritwalkers grace when basically all your spells are instant cast. But i still play Shaman more, totems are fun
I play resto shaman and holy priest and I’m going to try out holy paladin. I am also a clicker! The only keybinds I use are 1,2,3 and sometimes f1 f2 f3…. but mostly 1,2,3 and the rest I click. I do use vuhdo tho. Personally I reckon tanks have way too much survivability and healers are always blamed for mistakes. Back in the day if anyone got aggro they wouldn’t survive very long but now todays tanks don’t care about keeping aggro, they just keep going and pulling and leaving the rest of the group to deal with it. How the hell did I end up talking about tanks….🤣😂🤣😂
Keybinds are easy get a Razer Naga mouse with 12 buttons on the side and also use a modifier key to get another 12 buttons. 24 buttons at the touch of your fingers easy game. Can even add in a 3rd or 4th modifier if you really ever needed.
Played only DF S2 as Disc and then switched to Rshaman but i admit i miss the sadomasochist pugging with Disc I'll add a layer and play Oracle with Disc
Great list, I'd only slightly change the order at the end. I think I'd say from easiest to hardest it goes Disc -> Preservation -> RDruid. Disc used to be legendarily difficult, but it was significantly simplified in DF. Atonement may be tough to get used to, but once you get it, it's very straightforward to use & the rotation is simple. For me, druid healing is the most proactive in the game & due to being primarily HoTs, it's the most punishing on small mistakes. Add to that the catweaving playstyle which adds melee & stance dancing for those players who thought standard resto was just too easy & I think we have a king of difficult healer specs.
For me, playing every healer spec at a +10 or higher (used to be +20), the most difficult for me were definitely paladin and druid historically. Learning how to aoe heal on paladin in m+ was very difficult for me in shadowlands, and druid was tough cause it was hard to tell if you had enough hots out or not and you just had to kind of know.
@@vanguelisk yes, this made it a lot better. I just feel like it’s counterintuitive to have light of dawn be your aoe holy spender and it just feels so ass to use

Disc Priest is just another reactive healer now with a rotation. It's been really disappointing that they took away the skill cap of Disc :/ The proactive healing and shielding is basically gone.
Yeah sadly yes... i miss the days without atonement i wish they brought back the absorb gameplay, like yeah its a fun mechanic but atonement has been just nerfed and nerfed over and over, after the S3 rework it has become quite a lot simpler to play and now it doesnt even feel strong on beta as they promised it would with the "rework"
Resto shaman and holy priest. I disagree about your ranking btw. Mistweaver is easier than holy pladin in M+ imo. And resto druid is easier than both, if you do not dps via cat (much).
You are 100% right about it depends on which playstyle for MW. Fistweaving is fun but you have to have a very different mindset when playing M+. It was the same for me in the last 3 expansions and if I didnt love WW so much I would dive into fistweaving. But the soothing mist playstyle especially with 'Peer into Peace' just feels like I have more control on the health of the party and can react faster. Plus 'Peaceful Mending', 'Unison', and Jade Serpent Statue working together just makes you healing feel so good for melee heavy parties.
As a holy paladin, you don't need to stay in melee range. As talent I always have the beacon of Faith. Then I have 1 beacon on my self and 1 beacon on the tank. And your mastery distance work on both your self and your beacon target. So even in raid, I have permanently 1 beacon on my self and 1 beacon on tanks. I change tank beacon on the tank that have aggro. But because of the mastry work on both my self and the beacon target, and I stay in range with the range dpser, I have full mastery cover for both range dps that are close to me, and the melee dps that are close to the tank with my beacon.
I beacon the tank (or melee dps) and one of the ranged dps, since I already count as a Mastery proximity point so that gives 3 spots in case the ranged dps move around, plus beacon doesn’t heal our martyr absorb. But maybe I should be putting it myself for the 5% dmg reduction. Hmm, time to test it…
@@mavrrick that could work too. I have tried that. But for my own stress level, I have 1 beacon on my self. That way I don't have to worry about my self. And it makes me able to not care about some of the encounters that does not 1shot you, because I know My health will be up again.
It's interesting you put reducing druid cds as a positive for ease of play. To me this is a massive negative. Druids biggest problem is digging yourself out of a hole if you aren't prepared for it and that's when you need your cds to help. Effectively losing flourish means one less tool to help in them panic moments.
Mistweaver casting healing is fantastic. The way all the talents work together smoothly is just wonderful design. You Soothing Mist then spam enveloping mist on every target. When I played it in season 3 it was night and day how big a different getting soft capped crit was for the play style. It was just so satisfying to have soothing mists follow your target swaps when you cast your instant vivifies and enveloping mists. Having multiple healing amps stacking with hots that auto cleave and automatic smart spreading hots around the party if feels fantastic and smooth. Sadly, I felt like I was lacking in the rest of the utility department so I’ll be playing Resto Shaman in TWW, but Mistweaver caster healing is a close second for me.
I feel resto druid much more easy and fun than resto shaman. Resto shaman have a ton of buttons, cloud totem must be mastered, shields to track, riptide combos... Resto druid is much more easy, put the hots, use One of two CDs and you are good, lot less buttons to use
Its easy to do ok but to be realy good at it you need to know what to do when to do it which is hard for most ppl, resto shaman is mostly riptides and chainheals which makes it very easy in groups cause you will always heal something
@@xXLucromXxmight be the case in the war within, but for quite a while shaman struggled with healing output in special situations, and if you do not track synergies you can definitely run into output problems because chain heal is to weak and wave to slow.
