Thanks mate! It's a valid concern and from the little I've played holy priest, even I could feel the difference playing without the tier set. I was often in a situation where I tried to press the holy words and they were on cooldown while this happened less often in S3 because of the resets we got there. I think it will be fine at the end though as long as tuning is not dismal. You get little value from the new tier set and you have hero talents at your disposal so that should be enough to compensate!

I feel like they will have to buff oracle significantly to make people take that spec more. I personally don’t feel like their premonition is enough to keep up with halo. Also I would love to see some support to divine star. Maybe they could add something to the oracle tree to make it much better. Because as of now I feel it’s a worthless talent

I have the WA too and it's not hard to track at all, sure. Does it overcomplicate the spec with the million other things you need to track? Yes. I'm fine being called big cry baby too though ;)

@@thelegendbehindthecow so I played all the meta healers last season to 3k and hpally to 2800 and I'm not gonna lie man hpally has so few things to track. Go mess around with a resto druid.

Yep, I think some simplification of the class would be quite welcome and no one would mind it, including Blessing of Summer being gone completely :)

I don't know man, we've played hpal after the rework in 10.1.5, for example, and it felt so good to heal that putting a label as "hybrid" on it feels like a small budget version. I think with the latest rework and the hero talents it's getting back to glory though :)

Then go play a disc priest. That’s what their kits build for 🫤

The hpal mist of pandaria was like this you was doing damage to heal nearby allies and thats was awesome the only time where i did played healer

With the most recent changes Totemic is definitely ahead now, no doubt about that but we'll see how the class rework affects everything next week :) Thanks for the comment, I don't PVP so insights like that help understand some of these tree decisions that otherwise sound absurd to me

Oh, I have the keybind but that's not the point. You still need to track what's next, who to cast it on, etc. And now there's one more thing to track, I just don't like getting down this line is all :) But yeah, hpal feels good now, no doubt about that!

They do damage! I didn't have meters for this video and somehow I convinced myself that they are not casting chain lightnings but at the end of the day they do! And yes, you are correct - smashing CHs with ancestors procs is quite OP which is why I liked the gameplay style a lot. It's pretty good in dungeons too but even there having 3 stacks of riptides is a lot and feel like a waste quite often.

Honestly, I'm 100% sure that rework is coming. Every other class got something and shaman is not getting even small tuning changes so they must have something big cooking. I don't know, call me optimist but if there's no rework, that would be omega disappointing!

Hm, I feel like I can riptide whenever I want with 2 charges as well (3 considering PWave) so having an extra one feels like too much but may be that's just me! As for the DPS part, the ancestors do dps but I didn't have the chance to test them with working damage meters before they took M+ off the beta so now waiting for them to put it back on so I can give it a shot. It seems that healer DPS is going to be irrelevant in TWW, it's not going to be a requirement but having the option to go in that direction if you want to should be there at least imo!

If their focus is to get players getting more out of riptide, I would really like to see Blizzard maybe focus on some interactions with the actual HOT instead of charges, "casting riptide extends the duration of all active riptides for 0.5-1sec" or something along those lines

Well, they took M+ off the test servers before I could play priest so I'm short a bit of testing to make a tier list like that. Also, it's very early right now, pretty sure a lot of changes and tuning is yet to happen so nothing we make right now is going to stick for the next few weeks. If they bring back M+ though, I'll finish the tests that I wanted to complete and I'll probably make some preliminary content for them

Yeah, this is purely ranking the tier sets as the hero talents and healer balance is going to see a lot of changes in the coming weeks for sure. It is possible that tier sets also get changed - really not fan of the evoker's one and that's also possible but we'll wait and see!

@@vanguelisk Oh, tuning is going to be happening a lot in the coming weeks for sure. Nothing is final yet. For example, I think Engulf got changed a couple of times already and now that they have some actual numbers to look at, the balancing will commence. I'd expect some pretty big changes in the next couple of builds

Haha, I just said Farseer is going to benefit a bit more from the tier set! All things fair though - Farseer actually plays quite nicely in dungeons as well so I think it will be viable spec. Is it going to beat the free chain heals of Totemic even with the surging totem dropping the rains in Narnia? Probably not but I think Farseer is definitely going to be playable option and it's not as bad but I'll do some more shaman testing once they bring back M+ on beta

@@poorchris Well, the idea is to take away from the spikey damage that leads to bursty style of healing and then put some damage on the tank that we have to heal instead. Kind of like tradeoff. If they make us heal the tank more in the current state without changing how the rest of the healing works - I think every single healer is going to quit the game all together :D

I don't know, I see where you're coming from but if it's a really good group and they actually do, all the healer does is dps and it doesn't matter if they are there. If people are ignorant then it doesn't matter how much healing you do, they will still die. Neither scenario feels good though :(

one not every class will have their defensive CDs look at fury they have 2 and they are 2+ min cooldowns thats crazy long for what your asking also what your wanting dont fix the healing problem it in fact takes away the role that the healer is there to do heal the group

@@Demonsouls1993 Yeah, not all classes are equal as our friend said there. Ret pallies have 2 defs on 1 min cd which means they can press something every 30 seconds! On top of that they have immunity, sac, BoP, Lay on Hands - that's crazy! Haven't played fury but enhance shaman for example has only one defensive on 1.5-2 min cooldown and some other crappy buttons (like earth ele) not worth pressing really. And then there's dps classes which give group wide defensives (mages, evoker, etc) so having all these discrepancies is just not fair especially in pugs where you can't stack what you want

Yeah, as I said in the video - you simply do not heal tanks. They can take of themselves and if they need healing - just find a better one! That stands true for Blood DKs even more as their self healing is insane

Yep, more of the same it is. They did say they are changing a lot of things in M+, probably removing affixes at high end keys or something similar of the sort but that's not going to change healing :(

It's kind of tricky to judge by the PTR since we are scaled there and you don't know if we are overscaled or underscaled. And tuning is also going to happen a lot in the weeks to come. It's their approach that worries me as changing numbers is not going to change the way healing works, even if they narrow down the tuning perfectly. So yeah, there are some nice changes mentioned in the interview, looking forward to see them but healing in general doesn't seem to be among these topics :(

Yes and no! From healing perspective it's definitely easier as you have enough buttons to press for any situation and they pump so that feels pretty damn good. However, the difficulty often comes from the short range, from people standing somewhere in Narnia, from you VEing someone and eating mechanic in the face, things like that.. In PUGs the experience can be quite dismal but if you are in a good group or in a coordinated team, then playing pres evoker is a breeze!

The thing that annoys me the most is that a dps will be standing in Narnia and I will rescue them and place them right in front of me as a lot of healing is direction based in this class. And then that person I just rescued takes 3 steps back behind me smh

@@robertegan2155 Hahahaha duude yes! That sh*t happens like all the freaking time and I will keep rescuing the same person over and over again and they keep walking away every time!!! Tbh I had a couple of dungeons where at the end I would ask them "why did you keep walking back?" and if they don't snap they just say something like "sorry, I'm used to just standing back" so I guess ranged brains dps is just programmed to stay in Narnia even though they know they are not getting heals in the wardrobe :D

@@vanguelisk Heh, I never claimed to be sane guys, I don't know where you get that notion from :P Jokes aside, right now I'm basically not playing retail much and MoP remix is kinda over too so I get to focus only on beta but playing more than 2-3 chars is a big stretch. Even the season where I got all the portals on all the healers, I would play them basically one by one and not all at the same time. I kind of enjoy the variety and the bad pugs/dungeons is the world I'm living in so that's just something I must get used to or I'll quit the game :P

I actually like this bit a lot - you press a button and your grove guardians go into incarn tree form to go wild! I think Keeper of the Grove is interesting enough as it is but adding another twist like this could definitely take it into the next level :)

I don't know mate, it seems that you are not minority at all :D I personally don't mind it but it definitely makes the spec a lot more complicated so playing Keeper of the Grove felt like a relieve and kind of like vacation. I can easily see how people are going to stick to that spec even in M+.

I absolutely agree. If I wanted to be a melee healer I would’ve played a paladin.

I think they added something like that at one point but then got negative feedback and as far as I can see - they removed it. Unfortunately, that means you'll need either addons or WeakAuras to get it back into the game :(

Cheers! I'm using the CurseForge app to manage my addons. Once you install Details there (on your beta client of course), right click it and look for "Release Type" option in the drop down menu that shows up. Select "Alpha" from there and voila. There's a beta option as well but as of yesterday it was giving me errors. I'm assuming it will get fixed shortly though.

Yeah, that's the only thing that prevents this from being the best spec - feels bad when your healing rains are wasted

I didn't have working damage meters in those runs but they didn't seem to do damage. It could be that I'm wrong though and now that I have them working and M+ is open for testing, I'll give it another spin!

Can you do it for Click-casting though? I might muddle through it a bit more but that's what I need to do, basically bind mouse wheel up to be, let's say, chain heal on mouse over

Personal experience though, try to avoid mouseover stuff with wheel up and down because you might accidentally use it

@@Cimegs5088 That is true indeed, I've done it many times too. However, I bind low impact abilities to it that I press all the time (not stuff like Bloodlust) so even if I accidentally press it, all I lose is a global. At the same time they are very easy to access keybinds without the need of other modifiers :)

Yep, that's a good Resto Shaman tip! Not so much for the rest of the healers though as they don't use mana.... :P
