I might be wrong but don't you mainly ride K2 and Ride? If so this would feel much faster. Have you tried Gentemstick or Stranda or even high end Jones or Cardiff Bases?
Gotcha. Yeah Ride and K2 are on the slower side but its not a deal breaker. Especially with hook ups. Only the K2 Nisseko Pleasures had a fast base the last time I demo'd K2. See if you can demo some of the boards with an excellent base glide rating in the lik here. It will blow your mind. thegoodride.com/snowboard-reviews/?mens=1
@@thegoodridesnow my total board collection is jones flagship, ride berserker, ride deep fake, ride algorythm, k2 instrument, nitro alternator!! Jones base glide is awesome ride bases are ok but I do like higher end nitro bases.
I did compare them same day, same runs, same boots and same bindings. Aeronaut is narrower, lighter and a little poppier with a faster base. Alternator is wider, much more damp/way better in uneven snow and holds a better edge.
You might really like the 160. The waist looks narrow but the width over the inserts will do well. What what make/model/size/year board you ride now and how you like it?
Gentemstick, Moss and Stranda are super fast. High end Jones, Cardiff, Capita, Korua, Weston, Nidecker, Never Summer, Prior and United Shapes are all pretty fast too.
@@thegoodridesnow which base is better between Moss Stick and Korua? I am on the trigger between purchasing a Cafe Racer Pro 159 or a Moss Wing Pin? The titanium plate on the racer makes the cafe a “chop-smasher.” Does it make it go down the fall-line faster on edge? Wing pin is more “surf-like,” a characteristic of all Moss boards, but it’s not worth buying if a future Burton juice-wagon makes an appearance in a few years. What’s your two cents?
Would love to see your thoughts on the new nitro team!
They didn't send one last year. I reviewed it a while back thegoodride.com/snowboard-reviews/nitro-team-2010-2020-snowboard-review/
NITRO has always made one of the "best " snowboards in the industry.
I ride the 160 and the 162, 62 mainly for those deep days but the non Volcom base glide to me is crazy fast.

@@thegoodridesnow ride deep fake is my daily driver and yes I do have a k2 instrument but I have buddies at nitro so I get those hook ups 😁

Right on. That is some decent quiver polyamory.
How would you compare it to the Capita Aeronaut - they seem to be very similar. Thx

@@thegoodridesnow Will have a look - thank you! Sounds like I’ll go with the Alternator - matches what I was searching for more than Aeronaut 👍🏼
That is what I would choose if I had the choice between the two.
Between the alternator and the korua Otto which do you think is better in powder?
Otto.
Hello, for size 10.5 US, 180lbs, 6.17, which size nitro alternator x volcom would you recommend for all mountain board?

Shit! Thought I had Cardiff in there. Yes, Definitely fast bases. I'll edit that in above. Thanks
