I would like QuadRemesher to work at least 98% for all cases in hardsurface modeling, with mixed flat and curved surfaces. Maybe in a few months...with the help of AI. And that it would work perfectly even with hardsurface meshes with low polygon count and completely MESSY and WRONG, from the point of view of correct topology. Of course, it should churn out very low polygon-count models...if I want, and I want that almost always. That is, I want to be able to afford to model for 3 minutes create tris and ngons while modeling; then I stop and do remesher; then I continue to mess up my mesh and so on until I complete a clean model made only of quads...but without wasting HOURS and days of my life only for perfectly stitching holes in a sphere.

how was this a bad job? all you need is to add a bevel to that geo (which I did at 2:45) and you'll have a perfect subdiv surface ready mesh. I was paid exactly $68.89 from YT ads at the time of writing this comment

@@Chocofur sry...no offense...
I work in kids support center and we teach blender since 2.7 ...
Since maybe 2 years we see more and more tools specially for modelling are behind the paywall..
the kids came up with tutorials after the beginner course they are find on the Internet but these are heavy related to cool tools no question but behind paywalls..
we have not the admin control over the PC & Laptops Software management here in the Center...So buying some Tool and copy over all PC is not possible even I would pay for it and do it buy my self and paying for all PC is not an option too for Center.....
...the kids selfs are often not privilleged with money often it s the bus that cost more then they have to come to the Center..
So the paywall is hard for these kids...Kids are heavy interest in 3d modeling ...
but this is how blender now works..
free yes but a lot of features only for money and privileged people...
@@sebbosebbo9794 I get your point with installing the software across multiple workstations in a closed environment, I really do. And I totally get it with kids paying for the software, although 30-50 USD is a price of a video game nowadays (I'm sure the author of the addon would help you out with the price if you reach out to him privately).
btw this is I think the only paid Blender addon me and my team use to get things done. The only alternative I know to do what the addon does, is tedious hand remodeling of an entire 3D mesh (which I don't think anyone would like to watch or make tutorial about it).
I still think Blender is one of the very few hobbies that costs almost no money to play around with, and it can lead to a full time job later.
Peace man and good luck with the kids, you're doing Lord's work!
It's nice but counter-intuitive to the open source/free nature of blender.
Low cost zremesh
the price is a joke, you should have said in the title "paid method"
How much something that saves you hundreds of hours of tedious work should cost?
I can't believe you made me buy it. I've held out for 10 years buying that addon, you pop on and Booom! bought.
It doesn't work on complex mesh.
lol but to be honest I was also held out for many years by never seeing it can actually create very good sharp edges for beveling (which is absolutely crucial in my workflow). just to make it clear, the video was not sponsored by the addon developer 😇
It's really amazing 🤩🤩
Thanks 😅
hi does this addon work in the latest blender 3.5? and does this addon get updated regularly?
Yes and yes
i never get good results with quadremesher
It's hit and miss but the developer is working on a new version.
@@MetalGearMk3 good to hear, hope they hurry up, thinking about investing in retopo software rn
I guess it depends on what you need it for ,we did quite a lot of modeling in our studio recently using it and it was perfect (hence the idea for the video). but it's not a single click solution for CAD file retopology for example, you still need to do quite a lot of stuff manually.
@@Chocofur I'm not sure whats going on, but i can't get it to work, i couldn't believe the result you achieved. I have a highpoly i did so many things to to get it to work but it cant keep the original forms, even though adaptive is set to 100%.
I will give it another shot when they release a new update, i could REALLY REALLY use a good remesher. At one point i was considering getting zbrush just for the retopology options :D
In default settings it doesn't really work well for me neither. Im personally always use Normal Splitting and set all hard edges manually. But i use it for hardsurface where hard edges are possible, for organic stuff thats, probably, not an option.
"ill show you how to do this!
first you need to spend 100 dollars"
is 100$ really that much for someone who makes money with it? because you also have the hobby version for less than 60$. It's also tiresome to connect the dots for all of you complaining, but you can use the trial version for 30 days and then do it again with a burner email
почему нельзя это сделать бесплатным?
всё равно буду делать ретопологию вручную!
Its basicaly zremesher.
+ correctly done bevel
Zremesher gives you spirals, not loops. Deceptively similar, but quite different in reality and in practice.
@@Gichanasa Depends on basic shape. I trided this addon and it works very similar. Having organic shape i get some spirals in most cases.
That is, I want to be able to afford to model for 3 minutes create tris and ngons while modeling; then I stop and do remesher; then I continue to mess up my mesh and so on until I complete a clean model made only of quads...but without wasting HOURS and days of my life only for perfectly stitching holes in a sphere.
don't think this will ever happen, even with the AI 😥
I'll definitely give this a try.
Too slow.. I need it in 30 seconds
Do you think this method can replace the add on: ruclips.net/video/UIJRSyJ7cSg/видео.html
Hi, need support for product renders light, will you recommend any tutorial ?
“It’s really not that expensive” riiight for one that has easy expandable income maybe. You aint that people smart huh dingle dongle
how much an addon that saves you hundreds of hours should cost? just curious
very glad for have been the first to see yur nice youtube
let keep going Chocofor
2:20 - I love when you're saying how amazing this plugin is, you're showing a clip of it doing an absolutely terrible job on a hard surface shape, warping it and giving it all crooked edges, then hiding the mess with a subdiv. Like nobody would notice. How much did they pay you to shill this?
how was this a bad job? all you need is to add a bevel to that geo (which I did at 2:45) and you'll have a perfect subdiv surface ready mesh. I was paid exactly $68.89 from YT ads at the time of writing this comment
This is First Comment...
And this is insane i loved this technique>
thanks for the first comment my man!
