Night on Bald Mountain
By Modest Mussorgsky / arr. Mark Williams
Item: 00-5195
Series: Growing Band Series
Format: Conductor Score & Parts
Level: 3
This concert band adaptation of Mussorgsky's spectacular orchestral work will make a thrilling addition to any concert performance. It depicts a witches' Sabbath, and was used to great effect in the Walt Disney animated film 'Fantasia.' Trills, staccato phrases, time signature changes and wide variances in dynamics all add to its effectiveness. A striking transcription.

Playing this song in 8th grade was hell, especially when half the students in band only took the class because it was an easy A
It was fun for me
Um. I'm literally playing this for my spring Concert in two weeks. We don't have a lot of people that have that mindset. We just got it today. Should I be worried or am I good?
@@rando_mando317what instrument are you on?
As a 7th grader that works w/ others in 7th and 8th who's peers have that mindset, it's going to be hell due to the 3 weeks we have until spring concert-
@ShyGuy6266_ I play clarinet. I'm 3rd chair. My band director put me on clarinet 2 for the song since he, in his words "needed powerful players on 2nd clarinet"
Doing this for year end on grade 8 on snare and nobody can count the rests on the 3/2s
We are playing this for our state assessment this year
Im in percussion
Mario Small Same bro, i’m in percussion too. We did this last year. This was our fucking jam for the couple of months that we played it.
Im in 7th grade and we are playing this piece for our spring concert in three weeks, we have to learn THIS in THREE WEEKS!!!😅
I'm in eighth and we have two weeks. There are 7th graders in my band 3.
Playing this at our concert tomorrow, this piece kicks ass and hit us all pretty hard. I got part one and I'm a freshmen, and the first quarter hit the band HARD with the drama. Our lead trumpet moved schools because of something that happened, hes also a junior and my ex boyfriend.
Listen to the flutes and clarinets at the beginning!
I'm a flute
UnitedStatesMarineCorp 2024 it’s a trill....

@@june9404 omg I haven’t replied this in 2 years but nope cms
I played this piece in elementary school and my older sister played it years later. Her version was way better because it was more intense and really good
How sad is it that the woodwinds in my band cannot play this correctly. (Symphonic band)
Not at all, not many bands in high school play 3/4 or 3/2 cut time
@@SteveStrikesTTV for real? Maybe I’m too harsh
