Fun fact: This song is about the writers dog! The “rampage” bits are the dogs outbursts of energy and that “rest” portion is the break Try envisioning a small zooming dog while you listen
I remember playing this my freshman year of high school. I’m now a senior and I still have the sheet music to this 😅 it was quite fun as a bass Clairnet player
In the middle, if your an oboe, I would add a little vibrato in there. And heres another tip. STONG AIR, not to soft, not to hard. If it’s to hard, it sounds like a goose. Too soft, it gets Shaky. Now, accent on the BUMMM BUMM BUMMM crescendo part. Legato. Light tonguing. This song is practice for the much bigger ones you’ll face. Accents, air, and working on vibrato. For woodwinds. For trombones with the BOM BOM, BA BA BA DUM. Accent, it’s marked. Same as trumpet. Accents are required. Strong air. Just some suggestions.
Graeson Anthony Bruh what middle school do u go to? You usually get out of the “cracking” stage in elementary 😂 maybe your schools just don’t know how to teach a proper band???
Bro I know no one actually notices how much pain is tubas go through to play those 8th notes at that speed. Lol and that ending took me forever and might I also add days of crying and suffering to get right.
I’m gonna play this in November and I’m really exited and I play trumpet 1 on this and I’m really good at trumpet for my level and I just played it full speed today and I’m wxoted
@@adityamathi705 im just saying this, after the band teacher conducts this piece, he/she will be SOOO worn out cause there is so many things happening at once. Like church bells, snare, timpani, suspended cymbals, crash cymbals, and trombone, trumpet, flute, clarinet, french horn. ITS CRAZY!!!

When our band was looking at this, since I play trombone, my mouth was like on the mf floor, and everyone saw. Everybody was dying.
This piece is too fire the beginning is amazing and everything else was just incredible

@@weltschmerz_cairn9549 haha exactly what I was thinking
Trumpets have the same thing as oboe there and so do French horns and a couple other instruments.
Same my band doesn’t have an oboe so it’s literally just the altos and the clarinet and then the bass, clarinet and tenors
Todd Stalter pieces all sound the same LOL
Not complaining, they're all badass
It’s because they all have a strong bass line, and where the patterns repeat throughout the song are usually in the same place
I completely agree with you and I have played 2 pieces by him. Critical mass and Ignition

The oboe in this piece sounds so good❤️❤️

Clarinet flute or sax which one
This is so much fun it I smy favorite so far
I really want to hear a metal band cover this. The calm parts could easily be a calm twelve string portion then full on double bass pedal thrashing.
The tuba part is scary and it gives me anxiety
