the ending is dramatic it’s a minute long conclusion to the song, but the reason he did that was to make it really really annoying. like how at the bottom of an ice cream cone they put a piece of chocolate so it makes you want another one, the end is tantalizing and it makes you want to listen to the entire song again for that note :)

Omg I did that when I went into 8th grade. We played Danse Carnivale and Firebird Suite, which our band wasn't wven ready to play. Danse Carnivale was laiden with ridiculously tricky notes that I couldn't even read, and Firebird was all long notes. I was the only one on Firebird Suite that had 3 quarter notes, 2 half notes and the rest were whole notes tied mulitple times. I switched back to flute after that...

when i played this junior year of high school, i didn't appreciate it as much as i should have. I was just an angry clarinetist who was annoyed with the amount of altissimo-register notes. But now being an alumni and having all kinds of facebook memories from band concerts come up, I have to say this was by far my most favorite piece I ever performed in my 7 years of middle/high school band, and still my all time favorite over everything I've played even after high school

I love this song so much! One of my favorite songs I’ve ever played, and played this at Area All State late last year. I loved playing this as a flute 2

This sounds like heaven for all those brass players who love to blast their sounds out and just play

We’re playing this in my college wind ensemble currently and although it’s challenging for me as a flute player I LOVE how it sounds.

I'm 16 and I played the first horn of this piece in a first division wind orchestra. I died about 37 times.

Steven Arango it's usually not, but after playing this entire piece and then having to play the high G at ffff is exhausting (from my experience with this piece)
