Played this for honor band. At the ending, i could visibly see all the other school band members who were forced to play only classic marching music watch in awe.
Played this piece in high school(more than once), and it's by far one of my all time favorite pieces I ever played. I played 1st clarinet, and it's such a fun part.
Sick, I just site read this yesterday and it is an amazing piece, I also played The Witch and the Saint last year. I play bass trombone and the parts are so much fun to play.
I played this once in middle school and it immediately became my all time favorite. I played 2nd horn, basically first because I played all first parts except the solo.
I also was 1st Clarient, one of the best songs I ever played
Bro same it was so so so fun
CLARINET BROOOS
Just got this song for high school band as the only piccolo and let's just say it's a banger to listen to during all of my resting
I love it as a fellow piccolo, but switching between flute and picc kills me 😭
High school? I’m doing this in 7th grade!
@@cjodol3271 thats great. Lets stay humble now.
@@cjodol3271 7th?! IM DOING IT IN 6TH!
lmao my friend plays picc and she always looks at me while I'm playing and she's resting with a sad look on her face and I start laughing
i just love the bari sax part at 2:35 so much omg
I played this in 8th grade and I have been looking for this song for the past 6 years
Playing this for my spring concert on Euphonium and I’m so excited !!
I will never forget playing this in high school, as a trumpet and having so much fun with those solos💛
Hi Emma!
I don't know what your college schedule would entail, but we just played this as our extravaganza piece and we're playing it again next Tuesday. You should totally come to the concert!
@@Woofrie if I can, I will!
Played this in high school as a junior and one of the - in total - two oboists in my school. Love it to this day
I am playing this song as the closer of my collage concert and my band directors last concert piece. Before graduation and moving to elementary music next year.
Such a rewarding piece when it's all put together. Played it my Freshman year of high school, and after making GMEA my Senior year and playing hundreds of pieces throughout High School Band.... This is still my all-time favorite arrangement.
Where my Low Brass and Low Woodwinds folks at 💪🏾
bari player right here💪💪
Euphoniumist here!
BARITONE SQUAD
The best for this song is the saxophone alto and the hautbois
@@freakout9493 I play Euphonium, but I do support Baritones!
We play this song for a competition in 1 month and i'm the 1st trumpet
Good luck to me

We got the gold medal
I played this back in seventh grade at a competition. We traveled for it and everything, then landed a superior with distinction. It is still one of the greatest experiences of my musical career, such a fun piece. I was lucky enough to play 1st clarinet
Festival?
Played this for my spring concert last year. Best piece I've ever played. Everyone in my class wants to do it again this year
Agreed
Dude, Im playing this At my Spring Concert this year!!!
@@spyder2290same
My class did play it again the same year and I hope that I can somehow convince our director to play it again
My school band (I'm a junior) is learning this song right now and as a trombone it's so much fucking fun, I actually get to play the cool part
BRO SAME HERE! I'm also a junior and I'm the only one in trombone 1 in my band 😅
Im first trombone and euphonium in this piece, and it's frickin amazingggg
Both parts are amazing, and I get to play the best pieces in both of them
I played this piece on Alto Sax for our spring concert. Nearly cried playing... In my head of course 😊
Played it my senior year with euphonium, all low brass almost cried when we played this for our last concert

I played this in Eight grade. Now I'm a college sophomore and I still get chills. I played the xylo in this song.

Loved playing the flute for this. Nostalgic of those high school band days lol
I know right! The flute is such a fun part.
I played first flute with my best friend and wish I could do it again
Played this my senior year and it is easily one of the greatest pieces I've read
Brings back memories of tackling all of the percussion parts with just 4 percussionists, such a chaotic fun experience
i had to play all of the mallet percussion😍there were only 4 people in our high school percussion class
my band had 2 percussionists 😭

So glad I get to play this in honor band this year
When I graduated in 2017, our band chose this as our senior song. I was a tuba that year but previous years I was trumpet. Still love it
My band just got this for our spring concert, and as someone who's played tuba for 7 years, this is a he'll of a song to get introduced to tuba by, it's brutal
@@antcorn738 haha I'm responding from my other account. I loved it so much. I actually picked my trumpet back up for the first time since 2016. It's getting repaired and cleaned. I joined a community band and I may become one of their other tuba players as well after I get back into it
Bro
Same here
My graduation is in three days and we chose this song as our senior song

Also playing for winter concert this week, on bass trombone. Probably one of the best pieces our band has done (it’s only been around for 3 years as of right now)
Hey bro how did it go? My bands gonna playing it for the spring concert and I’m excited 😁
@@xlordzz8740 it went very well! Piece came together nicely and ended the concert on a great note! Take it all in when you play, and enjoy it most of all!
Played this in fifth grade and it was the best song I've ever played (I play clarinet)
Playing this for our festival performance tomorrow, I play trumpet 1 for this piece
I love this piece. For my final senior assessment piece in Music, I chose to conduct my school's symphonic band in a performance of this. It was incredibly rewarding, and I'll never forget just how fun it was to conduct this piece, and how beautiful it sounded. 100% I recommend playing this piece in your school's band at least once.
I'm playing this for my winter concert this year.
Edit: We moved it to our Spring Concert. Also I play alto sax
Good luck. I played xylophone, bells, and chimes for this piece last year. It was so much fun

playing this piece this year for UIL and i’m SO EXCITED ( trombone player:)) )
Good piece, has a lot of Planets Suite-sounding parts in it.
Wow lots of winter concerts currently practicing it for mine 😂
I played this a year ago with my highschool band for our spring concert, and it's stuck with me since. If I recall correctly, low brass represents Loki, Norse god of mischief, and at the time I admired the whole god of mischief thing, and was glad to play their role in the piece. Well, a year later, and I change my name because I really disliked it. And my nickname, given to me by a friend of mine, is Loki. I suppose it all came full circle. This piece means so much to me, for more than just this, but especially this.
2:35 IS SO FUN ON TUBA
It's a cool duet with Bari Saxophone
L tuba and W bari sax
When the low woodwinds don’t have the most boring part in the world😮
1:58 is my favorite part of this song dude
Agreed.
Playing this for contests in March, we just started working on it today lol
We did really badly lmao
Ok so is no one gonna talk about the trumpet part at 5:51....?
What an awesome song to get to play bass clarinet for
as a bass clarinetist who played this, you are so correct
Played this song in 2 concerts last year and i need to play ut again. I literally learned and switched to bass clarinet over the summer deom flute cuz the bass clarinet part was so cool. Especially at 6:10. Playing first flute with my best friend was also amazing and wish I could do it again too
I loved playing Steven Reineke back in high school. There's so much good parts and every section gets to shine in his piece. We won a competition while playing pilatus mountain of dragons and I still can remember my director shaking at the end because we played it so well even with the stress. So many great memories
Should be spelled "Andante Misterioso" - should not be "Mysterioso" because Italian does not use the letter "y" except in foreign words.
Played this last year. This and Land of the Healing Waters absolutely cooked.
I am currently using the ballad section of this song as the ballad of my Drum Corps Show. This ballad fills you with a sense of inner peace right after a hectic and stress inducing situation. And that perfectly fits what I intended. W music 3:45 - 5:23
Im playing this song in jr high area all state
Played this song today. Magnificent piece. I am first euphonium in 6th grade. Shoutout to Mr. Charles Ancheta from sjys for making this possible.

This was one of my favorites in HS Band. It’s the first piece I played both Trombone 1 and Tuba for
Cool! I also play trombone 1 and Tuba for the Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble!
Playing the timpani part for this song is an absolute blast
as a timpani player I can confirm
the tuning changes are a little annoying
but still its pretty fun
Prefiro Tocar seven Nation, muito melhor
I played this in freshman year in 08-09, and this is still one of the few songs my high school band played that stuck with me to this day.
I played this 16 years ago. It was one of the most memorable pieces.
7:16 the last time my school band played this in 2019, and today in 2024 i just realised that glockenspiel play differently from the sheet.. 🤔😭
5:55 still gives me goosebumps a year later
Played this for competition and nyssma majors and I could just see the absolute amazement on how this piece sounded. Every detail of this peace was written so perfectly. The horn gliss at the end never fails to give me chills. The trumpet solo was perfectly written. They way everything comes together in the piece never fails to amaze me
Ah I just got flashbacks to high school band! One of my fav pieces. 1st chair alto sax was such a fun part to play ❤
Idk why it gives me god of war vibes

I'm playing this for an Honor Band that happens every 4 years as a Sophomore and I'm playing the Snare part.
Got this piece for spring concert this year, senior.
I'm the only French Horn, wish me luck!
I LOVE THIS PIECE
Played this last year an was told that my high school had the best low brass in the state. We were compare to college level or even professional bands by other professors.
I loved playing this song in high school especially since our director had us come up with a story to go with the music so we could play the song while imagining what was happening in the story to help us "get into the feelings of the song"
This was a breath control nightmare for a tuba player but i loved every second of it
Absolutely legendary
I will never forget this piece. My fave i ever played besides Jericho behind the wall
I hear Mars 😁
