@@caper6649no it’s low brass
As the Timpani player, I give this piece a fun/10
Same lol, the solo at the end is just the finest
As the snare player who is garbage, this is aids
I wantes to play the timpani so bad but got the bass drum 😭😭
@@Fryyournas im going to play timpani !!!
Absolutely
Throughout the ten years of band experience, I would have to say playing this piece would have been my favorite one alongside playing anchors away in front of admirals and captains for navy bootcamp graduations, it was honor to have ended the musician chapter of my life with the Navy band.
3:24 is the best part 🤌🏾
the flute and clarinet solo roght before chaos👏👏👏
Bro and the melody at fortissimo
Oh the memories this brings from playing this back in sixth grade
Same!
Literally omg
Bitc- sixth grade?? I’ve never felt so untalented in my life. I played this freshman year of high school
I’m playing this in 8th. Tuba part really isn’t hard. Like, ever.
@@tdoyr were playing this rn (8th grade too) and my friend who plays tuba agrees, but jesus christ they went hard on the trumpet part
my 8th-grade band might be doing this for our contest this year! I'll tell you that the low brass was very excited while listening to this. my friends and i are absolutely obsessed with this song.
It gets old in a week tho
@@elijahailey7362 we didn't do it. i think they did this song with another band? but it doesn't really matter now considering we probably wont be returning to school this year.
True 😂
my eighth grade band is taking this to state this year.
This song is pretty impressive for eighth graders
I played tuba and my teacher told me to all out for this and I did just that, one of my favourites
same here bro, and as a tuba player, you dont get to do stuff like this alot
Nice
same
i love the melody so damn much
As a sax player, if my middle school director told me to do that, he would have immediately regretted it
As a snare player, this was hard but also fun at the same time
Right!
Yep same here
Yep, but very crucial
i have to play snare fo it and im a first year i transitioned from clarinet its very scary im mallet based or i thought i was idk im scared tho
love the low brass and bass clarinet parts
Outstanding piece of educational literature for band! Thank you stalter 🙏🏻
Still one of my favorites from when I was in the school band... this piece is friggin amazing
currently playing this in band and it’s gotta be the funkiest lil piece we’ve ever played
2:06 most glorious horn part(change my mind)
Have you ever listened to Red Rock Mountain by Rossano Galante?
@@jeremybedard1052 YES, its beautiful, I meant that this was the best part for this song specifically, but yes in that song the horn solis are amazing.
euphonium
@@user-xj1zw7rv4r no, the part I pointed out is a horn part, I played in a county concert
@OpenYourEyesStudio I played it as well and have had it memorized for years. It’s not just horn, but also a euphonium part.
Measure 77 😊. It gets me every time. So good 👍👍👍
3:31 brings joy to my soul!!!
flute part for this song is SO fun!!
I love the title given to this peice. :0
When my band was preparing for it, we were given it right after our fall concert to have enough time to prepare it for MPA and so my band director would mix the name with another piece we played called Turning Point and so my band director would call it Counterpoint instead of Counterbalance. It became a bit of an inside joke between all of the band members
Big throwback to 8th grade 3 years ago… played the timpani part for san diego middle school honors band. Super exciting part too bad I quit percussion all together even though I was pretty darn good at it.
We are playing this right now in band
Same
same
@@yobblyblob5745
Me too
Currently playing this for my concert. So fun, which I can go faster. 😭
THIS SHI IS FIRE 🔥🔥🗣 GOOOOOODDDAMAMMNNNN
Loved playing that melody on tuba
Literally just....🤌
2:09 is by far the best part.
god the nostalgia the memories oh
My middle schools varsity band might be doing this song for competition this year and I’m really hoping we do
hailey the oboe?
@@mangopopsicle2514 yeah
@@haileylong7795 omfg, its such a good song tho
@Relaations weinger
I want to play this with my band so bad
As a xylophonist 10/10
THATS MEEEE!!
As a trombone for my grade 9 band this was definitely one of favourite songs to play
Yeah I played this in 7th grade as a trombone, one of my favorite pieces to play to this day
Playing this right now in 10th grade in my band
I'm currently playing this on flute in grade 10 music
playing this for my spring concert, whish me luck 🙀🙀🙀🫶🫶🫶

I remember playing this like 3 years ago
Oh man I remember playing this in 2nd grade
what
Ain't no way💀
No way dude
This is a pretty fun pice for bwing in drum line in 8 grade in the high school marching band that got first at state for 3a texas
Strange transition with timpani solo but I like :)
This is really fun, especially on timpani.
We almost played this back in 8th but didnt. Im now in 10th, almost in 11th and im *still* mad about it.
Update: college sophomore now, STILL upset about it
I played this as a sophomore bass clarinet and I must say this hurt my fingers and made me have a hard time breathing
Love this song
And what part is flute?
I love the trombone parts ✋😩🤚
I have to play this for all county this year as a seventh grade flute player
Spoiler alert…
It’s hard
As a flute player, can confirm: it's quite difficult.
To me this seems a little higher than a grade 2.5...
Cooper Sluka ikr
Listen to Rephrygeration by the same composer... i think this is a 2.5
@@wMattie it's a grade 4
No it think it should be even lower this is easy
@@dravenholder9236 i agree
be perfectly aware that the flutes were miserable the entire time, but we had fun! 🙃
0:38❤️
What is it with this composer and timpani solos? Try and name a song by him that dosen't have at least one timpani solo.
At 1:17 where the alto saxes echo the flutes is honestly one of the highlights personally, love this piece
Edit: forgot to mention that I _am_ an alto saxophone player lol
U mean horn sax dont play their
@@alanartz whatever variation we have has us playing there
Played this at a band camp fr going into 10th grade
3:24 is the best idc
1:19
That’s me French horn yutes
That ending tho
Best part is 1:03
1:54 trumpet solo party
(Note for me guys)
It sounds a bit the same as "Aggressivo" by the same Composer.
Isn't "Aggressivo" written by Randall D Stanridge?
Ah yes
TheCyanSka ?????????????
GrogTheFrog ??????????????????????????????
?
H Chemist ah yes
laurtin.winter ???????????????????????????????
Marching band sounding ahh piece
who plays euphonium?
the song is good but I think tht measure 77-81 should be the end of the song
T. Sax group finally doesnt play support 😭
I play f horn lol
Is this on the Texas pml?
As a trumpet player, this piece of music is fun but TORTURE
3:23
3:29
3:42
This is more like a grade 4
Im doing this in 7th grade
It not that hard it's just the speed that is intimidating
@@theresachacon1122 lmao I don’t know why I said that almost two years ago, this piece is easy. I was just dumb back then and took in the fact that the band that performed this sounds amazing, changing my perspective on the piece making me think it was harder than it actually was LOL
3:29
That part is so had to play on bass guitar 😅
3:14
