Hey Fam! Just want to clarify how to use the code to get your 3 months free!
Once you have downloaded Soundly, and made a free account, go to the top right corner of the app and you will see a profile icon. Clicking on that, go down to your profile, then scroll to the bottom. Near the bottom, you should see a section that says "Promo Code". Put in code "TheFinalCutBro" and it will automatically apply 3 months completely free, zero strings attached!
This is great ! Quick question. Is the drag and drop of a sound function also work from Soundly App to Motion, or only FCPX ? Thanks again Bro.
One killer feature for me is the ability to set a destination folder for the files.
Once I begin a new project I set this destination as the /SFX subdirectory of that project and that’s it. All the drag and dropped parts of the sounds are saved into that folder automatically!
It means all my sfx of that project are in the project folder, not in a centralized sfx library which might be harder to share with someone or get back in the future.
That intro though 😂😂😂 Hilarious! This app looks amazing. I love the ability to drag and drop directly onto the timeline in FCP 🙌🏼
That feature is HUGE for me! Not to mention basic stuff like favorites haha
@@TheFinalCutBro When you drag that file into FCP where does the source file go? Inside the library file? Or in a folder like in Documents or something?
It goes in whichever folder you choose from Soundly's settings. Mine is set to documents. Or if you have "Copy to library" selected in FCP, obviously that will copy the media into your project.@@Brad_West

I shot a vid in Middle Temple gardens in London. It's a lovely spot. But there was some distracting music coming from a passing taxi in one clip. So I just replaced the audio with a suitably sound effect. But then a bunch of ornithologists in the comments got all excited about why there was a Canadian sparrow in London.

I've only been testing it for about 10 minutes and I can say I like it a lot! I have already found some sound effects I have wanted and been unable to find on epidemic sound (which I do like for background music).

The license for the sounds does not really seem clear from their website - if I cancel my pro subscription, can I still use the sounds already in my videos without problems? What about using SFX already downloaded for other videoes, can I use them i new ones without a pro subscription? I can't really find any licensing info on their site.

Most of the effects do have keyboard shortcuts! I just didn’t want to make this video much longer. It was already pushing the edge of too long 😅
Reversing is CMD + R, normalizing is CMD + N, place it is CMD +Shift + 1, shape it is CMD + Shift + 2

Take a look at command post for FCP! I think it can do stuff like that. I haven't done it personally, but that's where I would start. It's completely free!
Using the free plan, how do I access free sounds? Every time I try it says I need to upgrade. But the free tier shows free downloads
So there’s a soundly free collection at the bottom of the sidebar. It’s basically a ton of sounds from the pro tier. Make sure you’re not in the “add-on” menu and that you’re in the “sounds” menu. Then at the bottom I think it says Soundly Free Collection or something along those lines. Not in front of a computer to check at the moment. Hope that helps!

Don't bother, man. Free collection is a joke. Around 150 sounds are free, and the rest of them are marked PRO. There is literally nothing you can do in the app without subscription.
Except load in 10k of your own local sounds, powerful search tools, create collections, favorite, change the speed of a sound, place them using the "place it" feature, EQ sounds with the "Shape It" feature, and try out the AI voice feature with 25 renderings.@@bamrainey

When I click on the free sounds (100,000) it wants me to upgrade to the Pro subscription... no bueno
Make sure you put the code into your account! You can find it in the account settings.
