In today's video, we're diving deep into the world of solo filmmaking, sharing our top 10 tips on how to film yourself with cinematic quality - all by yourself. From leveraging unique camera angles and creative composition to mastering the art of clean audio and utilizing the right gear, we've covered everything you need to kickstart your solo filmmaking journey.
But here's the thing - the most important part of filming yourself is to just start. Yes, you heard me right. It's easy to get bogged down by the plethora of techniques, gear, and editing tricks, but the essence of filmmaking, especially when you're in front of and behind the camera, is to just begin. This is something I had to remind myself when I decided to create more personal content. The hurdles seemed endless, but the breakthrough came when I simply started.
Throughout this video, I've broken down my process into digestible tips, including my favorite - which you'll have to watch to find out! Whether it's about capturing the perfect shot, nailing your audio, or just making the most out of the equipment you have, these tips are designed to boost your confidence and spark your creativity.
So, if you're ready to take your solo filmmaking to the next level and want to learn more about creating captivating content that resonates with your audience, this video is for you. And remember, every great journey begins with a single step - or in this case, a single shot. Let's dive in, get creative, and transform the way you film yourself!

the afford you put in to have different angle was just amazing
I was watching videos of this same topic the other day and yours is by far the BEST one! Thanks for creating this video! ❤
Great video! Nice job taking over the channel! Keep the tips coming!
Best cinematic tutorial I ever watched 🤩 still a long way to go but I have now a reference point of what I want to be able to achieve ! 🤩

Amazing content Landon. You truly are an inspiration in every way.
This is one of the best videos I've seen on RUclips. Ever. Wow!
This video is a short, but informationally dense masterpiece. Thank you!
even your tutorials are cinematic and are told like a story. Well done.
Quality is king. Nice video Landon!
Love the thumbnail! + Epic use of story and tips
The quality on this video is on another level
This was the motivation I needed. Great Video
Great video. Love the new format!
wow, you nailed it, I mean, I've been thinking about how talking head is kind of everywhere now, so including this cinematic kind of narrative work into videos adds to the quality of the content almost regardless of subject, I mean, always loved the channels content but this is just Peak. keep it up
every shot was magical. great work
Amazing video, helped a ton. Thank you!
Wow man, you are awesome!
Thanks for the inspiration, appreciate that so much. Due to your great tutorials I was able to start my content creation agency and now I shoot commercials for big brands in my country. I've also shot a commercial for Porsche, it was my dream since I started this journey 4 years ago. Thank you bro, you are the best, keep pushing forward!!!
Great video! One thing that I would add is PERFORMANCE.
Shooting by yourself means that youre the whole crew, director and actor included so you got to perform at your best on the screen in order to tell the story you wanted to tell 🔥
Loved the video! Very useful. Thank you
Great Video Landon!
This is one of the most useful videos ive seen in a good while

Dawg, this video released two minutes ago. You couldn't have fully watched it without speeding it up to a degree where you can't properly comprehend it.
You watched full video really
I've been a member of FTF for 4 years now and I'm so happy that the business went to someone who really cares about it as much as Parker did (does). Thanks for more great tips @landonbytheway!
best way to explain with good retention
Landon has ugraded the channel to a new level
Nice! Will use in my next video!
Great content. Thanks, man!
beautiful/ can't wait to try this out
So so good - all the little things in here, the short clips that SHOW what you're teaching without even having you say them... outstanding!
Question: How'd you get the overhead shots? Looking down on the door, looking down through the hoop, etc.? 🤔
I would have liked that link for the wireless transmission. I literally upgraded my audio system like three times this year. Just ended up getting a DJI mic 2 because the 1 was getting transmission issues
Thanks for you comment bro. That's the same thing I'm looking for. No link for the wireless transmission 😢😅
@@ederperez4480 yeah I get it the course is the main priority but they could be making extra money with affiliate marketing.
What an amazing video 🎉
This video is amazing !
Thanks for the tips..
A TRUE MASTERPIECE
solid video landon
Great video. Clear and thought out. There are somethings you will still need that you cant buy to make a quality video like this.
1. On camera personality
2. Storytelling
3. The ability to pick music to dictate mood and pacing
4. Experience
I juat want to give people more realistic idea that getting all this gear wont make you him.
This was super cool.

You honestly killed it !! Love the colors in this video and the tips ! Also quick question , what aspect ratio is this shot ? Exported in ?
I keep watching this video over and over it’s definitely well put together. Within FTF community this is what’s missing. We need more updated content.
So dope!
Awesome tips 👍🏻
can we get more videos like these? I just learned a ton and would love to see more examples like that.
Love it, in typical FTF fashion, straight forward, easily understood, and easily implemented 🤙
Gold content. Thanks

Such a good video !! I need a DUNK next time tho!
Great video.. thanks for sharing
A really great cinematic tips video on RUclips,, WOW
Incredible
This video was well done wow
One of the best videos of FTM
too much perfection!
I own that PGYTECH tripod and I used to own a C70. I would not be brave enough to mount the C70 on the PGYTECH and hang it off something. 😅 When you showed that, I had a minor cardiac event. 😭😭😭
Solid vid and great tips! Guessing you have these somewhere, but what LUTs do you guys use on your footage? Feels super clean without being over-stylized 👌🏼
awesome work buddy. Great creativity
I like that camera bag. what brand is it?
You inspire me
My Fav The vette...Lol Thank you. good info.
Wheeeeewwwww😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨 this is too good
so I was just scrolling through some material for a client shot by a videographer I usually work with and I thought "Damn that is good, I wish I can shoot myself like that, how does he do it?" and a few hours later I find your video. talk about perfect timing.
Thanks.❤❤
Great! Thanks for sharing! Did you hit the camera at the end??😁 just to know
Great tips! not to mention that even a drone is also such a great source of interesting angles. I was curious, how did you do the lateral shoot of the basket at that high? Overall... this aproach to onself video making, its kind of expensive. Can you make a video for the same purpose but for low budget? Thanks
Love your content man!! What is the name of the car mount. I've bought so many and they all get small jitters. Ur footage looked solid.
