Honestly this just explained why my projects feel boring in some spots but spot on in others, because I look back and see that the boring spots are missing one of the three
This is a high quality video, I don't see a lot of channels dive into editing theory like this, at least not for more narrative-based approach. Thank you!
2:36 hurts my eyes to see this pie chart lmao
Good stuff here, always nice to see things laid out like this :) The fun thing about this is that for some things, like the land mine on the table, removing that cloth could be seen as an action, as well as a reveal, causing a reaction - but the important part about all this stuff is to be intentional about it, to actually *think* through why someone is doing something and what they are doing, and then look to see what that action causes in terms of reaction or result, and then reveal what the results of that action/reaction is - by both looking at a scene as a whole, as well as «micro managing» these little moments the whole scene, as well as each set of cuts and minisegments, gets a purpose, and that’s where the secret sauce lies I think :)
Love your videos. They are always so informative.
thank you Zach love it
You just earned yourself a subscriber. this information is worth its seconds in gold
This actually taught me something new. And I've been working in film for more than ten years haha. Thanks for this.
Would have loved to see a bit more of the formula here, cause its an amazing idea, rather than a filmora tutorial, but great video all together though. Thank you
very informative and vital, love it! thank you
Nice video! A little tip for some people: When it comes to the action, reaction and reveal rule I think it is also a dramatic tool just to remove the reveal and put it later somewhere else in the movie. When done right thus the viewer is connected to the movie for a longer time.
great video thank yoy!
I have been writing for 10 years and this is one of the best advices I have encountered! Thank you so much for sharing! God Bless You!
I'ma for sure check that app out so i could make my own Fan Film project's.

Bro, is that Zach King's logo on your laptop?? 😄Anyway the video was super helpful 💯
This whole video feels like an AD.
It is actually AIR (Action Impact Reaction).
Pr has added the Ai feature to remove unwanted sound.
epiosde 1 ? hm
There is no such thing as a CINEMATIC EDITOR
Thank you!
That’s not remotely true. I’m baffled that so many people agreed
How to make your film be tired and boring with too many cuts! Yay! Been looking for this!
First part = EPIOSDE 1
Second part = EPISDOE 2
So many experts here in the comment section!
Off topic: it bothers me that Denis openly talks down towards dialogue. And then Nolan just clearly isn’t great at it or doesn’t care for it either. It’s no surprise that they are associated with IMAX and pristine image- since image is everything to them. But to me it’s a tad shameful. You adapt Dune to screen and get all this praise, but there’s actually a big aspect missing. Inside the gorgeous imagery, there exists very few powerful conversations. Something that was essential to the book. Typically they’re rushed tools for exposition- especially with some of Nolan’s. I’d like those guys to man up and write some heavy hitting literature-tier dialogue. Put that in your 70mm film and project it.
Now you know filmogra isn't better than premiere pro. That's why you stuttered 😂
