This is a GREAT idea, Matti! For those of us who can't buy a bunch of set stuff, and/or don't have the room to devote to a big set, it's priceless. AI and Generative Fill are insanely intuitive and useful tools, and this is a perfect use for them.
This is really really good. I could see adding some animations, like a subtle blinking light, or a looping plant waving in the breeze, or a slowly changing outside view, into this. Really clever stuff.
Shooting some talking head intros to some informational videos for work tomorrow. Now I have a million ideas to make the room I’m shooting in look like a studio!
This video is going to help so many creators with small studios. This will bring another element to creating videos. No more excuses for people with limited resources. Thanks. #aitools #futureishere
RUclips algor haven't pushed or notify Matti's video for a while. Saw this video 6 rolls down, it's good to see you again Matti, and you're STILL the video and photography wizard of this YT-GAME ! TRavel FEEL~GODoOD Yo!
Oooh fun great minds think alike 😊 I started trying this after it was working well for thumbnails and man what an interesting workflow! Great video you guys made 🙌🏻
Great video, and yes, this is a potential game-changer. A couple of things to keep in mind: Keep your selections at 1080x1080 as you fill in areas for max resolution (this will likely not be a problem in the future), and remember, until generative AI comes out of beta, we cannot use it for commercial purposes!
@@frostgodx I’m not a bot, just a professional shooter trying to do the right thing. My guess is that this will come out of beta rather quickly and then we can create (and sell) ethically.
No one from these AI startups is checking to see if you “used their program with their permission through the uela” to do what they advertised it to do. That would be entrapment maybe?😂
I guess when doing something like this, we need to be more detail oriented eg: 3:06 when i saw that was happening my first reaction was: "Whaaatt??? where did the fingers go 🤣" but absolutely love this feature and your content Matti! sending loads of love form UK, London.
Wow Matti, your AI video magic never ceases to amaze me! The fake set at 2:15 with the AI generated plants looks so insanely real - I had to rewind it like 5 times haha. How long did that masterful edit take?? Keep these game-changing VFX vids coming bro, it's too fun watching your witchcraft unfold!
Cool way to use it… my only challenge with generative fill is consistency across… Generated elements on two different canvas’s are impossible to prompt to be of the same source ie. A wooden window frame
That's definitely a positive use for generative fill/Ai for sure!!! Awesome idea man, can't wait until we see actual video/animated ai tools similar to what PS is doing.
Yep, exactly what we've been waiting for 'AI to accompany real material', not 99% AI & 1% IRL generation, that's not art, to me that's taking more credit than you deserve/cheating!
Great video! Once you generate the background in photoshop, how do you use it with your video? Any chance you can do another video to show your working session?
This video is awesome... How I'm a little confused on how to actually mesh the layers together the real footage over the AI generated background. Could you help me out with this? Thanks in advance. Peace, Love, and Happiness!!! 🙃
The issue with PS (beta) lies in the barely usable generative fill feature. It frequently triggers the message, "The generated images were removed because they violate user guidelines," without any apparent reason. For instance, using the prompt "luxe resort" to generate a swimming pool background caused a warning, while using simply "resort" was accepted. Even more surprising was when the removal of an object, such as a ball from the pool, triggered a warning.
I got my first PhotoShop beta warning yesterday when editing. It was equally odd; I was merely adding some floor extension to an image that was cropped too tightly. THE SOLUTION: Make a slightly larger or smaller selection area and try again. It is so inconsistent that you just have to keep at it and it will work.
Awesome video thank you for the info looks real dope can’t wait to try it out.. quick question How do you implement the screen grab into the video? Could you do a step by step?
Great Video thanks, however you really sped through how to get this into your Video during editing. Would be great to have another Video showing how this is done in Davinci etc but with slower coverage and instructions. Thanks Matti
@@Errtien-Teddy fascinating stuff ! And appreciate Matti didn’t intend of this video to be a slow instructional one, but I’d love to know how he did this :-) I have a small studio and this could make it look extra large and cool !!
Great stuff.. wish we could have seen what you described in the AI description area ... That would have been helpful for beginners .. like if you took small areas. what did you type in it to get each piece.. like the wood ceiling ..
Have you tried using ai audio adjustments? You’ll no longer shut that AC off after using it with studio audio. The one that Adobe has out is pretty legit!
This is amazing. Ive been trying to figure out... the background you have with the black walls - what was the actual background? Does it have to be a black wall to get that background? I love it, would dig to know how to make it.
Very promising! I just wonder how well you can incorporate that workflow with Log footage.. Clearly you won't be able to create the background with the Log gamma curve and get it to work with a LUT afterwards? I guess you have to at least get the footage to Rec709 gamma/gamut first, then export a still, create the background in PS and then you can make your final tweaks in your NLE at the end)?
I feel like something needs to be done about the focal length. It looks great but just a little off - you can kind of tell the human in the shot isn't shot as wide as the resulting shot
This is so cool! Thank you for the video Matti :) I will try this out for a music clip or even a whole video ... Really excited for it :) Great video! Much love from germany 🖤
I think in your set there if the window contained stuff moving outside that it would sell the illusion. Is there a generative fill that will continue green screen element? - especially if you added a TV or monitor - I would be totally sold if it was video and not static. Set extensions in composting has been around for a long time. I have seen some that are extremely clever and natural looking. That part of filmmaking always amazes me.
You can edit the image yourself by adding a chromakey and then take a second video and place it under that element, for example. But the work, in my opinion, would not pay off, better to make a static scene... (Although the work is not that big).
How freaking wild is this??? First AI tool that I'm actually seeing that I could use this for filmmaking in a legit way.
The question is.... Are you stil real Matti? Say something if AI took over!
It is extremely cool @coffeezilla does this or something similar I think 😅
what is the name of this AI please reply
shout out to Epic light media who made a similar video - definitely interesting for some commercial stuff
Very wild yo Mattie hair getting long lol

Can't generate that at the moment in PS using GAI but you could add it in providing you locked the framerate for the animation to match your scene.
the possibilities are endless
Would love to see a step by step on this 😍
This is brilliant matt!
Great use of AI, Epic Light Media, thank you for inspiring Matti on this.
Blaine Westropp did this a month ago before Epic Light Media too... dog eat dog world out here

That's crazy. I've been using generative fill for thumbnails, especially when things get cut off, but I hadn't considered it for video. Love it!
It's cool that you discussed this. I heavily used this technique since the start of the pandemic. Learned a lot from this pandemic. Great job bro!
Shooting some talking head intros to some informational videos for work tomorrow. Now I have a million ideas to make the room I’m shooting in look like a studio!
Right???? Haha it’s crazy
This is such an awesome idea! Perfect way to utilize AI while still using human talent.
I love how AI tools are advancing and becoming more integrated into our creative workflows.
Can you create a video on how you did the video editing, like the zoom in-out, generating the pictures and how set up everything ?
