This squid is so cool, thanks for starting an archive!
No one is gonna talk about the Spongebob-like laugh?
Anyways, that squid really will be a huge discoverment for marine biology.
omg she really does sound like spongebob lmaooo
thank you for starting this channel- i am deeply interested in magnapinna and some of this footage isn’t really available on the rest of youtube. thank you so much.
Fun fact: you can hear researches misidentify the squid as a magnoteuthis at 0:09!
Check out the channel for more bigfin squid sightings :)
They corrected them-self and specified they were referring to the genus...
Edit: that’s still wrong nvm lol
Highly thankful for all the work you put into this channel. Love my little squids
WAIT THERE WAS ONE IN 2019?? THAT IS SO CLOSE OML!

This footage is from ROV SuSebastian Dive 295 (part 2 on RUclips). My friend Jeff Day was the one who originally spotted this one!

Magnapinna Squid
That abnormal fishing pole like tentacle sticking out forwards and not like the others can actually get us one leap closer to finding out how these hellspawn feed
Even the experts misidentify animals. She would identify it as a (Great squid). Close, but no cigar.
Is it red?
Sternberg Sterling have a great weekend everything else looking forward hearing from disclosure under law ensure
I wonder what creator of all things was thinking while making these creatures
He was drawing the arms when his hand slipped, making the tentacles 60 ft long and he just said "screw it, that's how it is now"
He wasn’t thinking he was most likely blackout drunk
and this is only at 2000 depth... monkaS
2km or 6.5k feet so pretty much the standard depth we see them at.
First vid was at about 8k ft, I've seen one at 10k and one at 5k
The Giggle though...lost my focus there!!
