I am studying to become a Marine Biologist, and I exclusively study Cnidarians (primarily Corals and Anemones). Thank you so much for creating this magnificent and breathtaking masterpiece! You have created one of the most outstanding and informational channels on this whole platform. There’s almost nowhere you could see this amount of biodiversity in one video about Cnidarians ANYWHERE on the internet. Good job and please continue doing what you do! Human beings need to learn and appreciate these little known organisms as much as we possibly can, they are one of (if not the most) important phylums in the whole entire Ocean. And have been for over 500 million years.
That’s so lovely of you, thank you for watching and taking the time to leave such a motivating comment. I begin my own Marine Bio studies this September and can’t wait to start, how are your studies going? Cnidarians are some of the most biologically bewildering organisms on Earth, it must feel like you’re studying alien life half the time considering how their anatomies, behaviours and physiologies are unlike those of any other organisms!
This is extremely random but I’ve always really wanted to become a marine biologist when I’m older, were there any classes or things you learned In high school that were helpful with your studies?

I'm way too stoned for this. How do I even create content that competes for views with this as a creator myself? This entire presentation was like being blasted off onto another planet. Mind blowing stuff. 🤯
This is the last evidence I needed. Jellyfish are now my favourite animals. I never knew the answer to the question but these... they're just too beautiful and interesting
Just got to watch this.. But man your content is so amazing, I can tell the channel's gonna blow up! Cnidarians are bloody fascinating.. And bloody difficult to track their evolution, because of all the cnidarians that exist, _only_ corrals fossilise easily and are rather common in the geological record. Everything else is all soft, so their fossils are really rare - so it's really tricky to figure out how cnidarians came to be, and how they became so diverse! Thanks so much for this great vid, the part about the Portuguese Man o' War was especially wonderful :D
Thank you so much Christian!!! I was hoping you’d comment with some fascinating facts about the cnidarian fossil record, and indeed you have. I was very curious about what we know of their evolutionary history, and it makes sense to hear that we can uncover very little about it - are there any fossilised medusae at all? Do they leave imprints in the way skin or feathers has been known to? Or are they altogether absent from the fossil record? If so, are they able to answer any questions about their evolutionary history from looking at DNA?
Hi Christian, I saw a comment notification from you but I think RUclips thought it’s spam as it’s disappeared. If you tried to send links, this can sometimes happen, but a clever way to bypass it is to type the comment without links, post it, then go back click edit and add them in. I’m so sorry if this means you lost all that you’d typed - I’d love to see it. Bloody RUclips and its poorly designed over-automated algorithms!
@@NaturalWorldFacts No idea why it keeps happening! Didn't even notice that my comments were getting deleted. Seems like RUclips's been acting up quite a bit... For some reason the bypass you suggested doesn't work, but I'll keep trying to get the links. If worst comes to the worst I'll just tell you what to write in the google searchbar to get the papers! :) Well anyway, what I was saying is that yeah, anemones and jellyfish are very rare in the fossil record. Mostly because they're basically watery blobs, which makes it very difficult to fossilise! But it does happen that soft cnidaria can get preserved, in really exceptional circumstances. And you're absolutely right, DNA and other molecular techniques are often used to piece together the evolutionary history of these fascinating creatures.
Ah that’s a shame, sorry about that. RUclips is too automated these days, but I’m glad I got to read your response! It’s such a fascinating thought to ponder on the evolutionary history of a creature so elusive in the fossil record. I’d be very interested to hear more about the circumstances where soft bodied cnidaria do fossilise! What are the conditions and processes that allow such a rare event to occur?
found myself falling in love with jellyfish recently, not only is this a very informative documentary, but also very relaxing and entertaining to watch!

Dude I really love your channel, it’s like so soothing and it makes me fall in love all over and over again with marine life and its science, thank you for such gifts of information ^^
I find the life cycle of them so amazing. Like insect metamorphosis, they completely change their appearance and for jellyfish, one polyp turns into multiple medusas. Really makes you question where one animal ends and the next one stands. The same with syphonophores. By the way, have you heard of the jellyfish lake on Palau? It's a lake that is so isolated from other bodies of water that the jellyfish living there have lost their toxicity, so it's harmless for humans to touch them. But reaching the lake is difficult.

5:38 I’ve rewatched this transition several times, there’s just something about it that brings me peace.
your newest video is probably the most stunning visually and best crafted videos ive ever seen on youtube. keep it up man i love whatre youre doing here and the music you use is impeccable and transforms the information youre providing us into a beautiful craft. cheers
I'm way too stoned for this. How do I even create content that competes for views with this as a creator myself? This entire presentation was like being blasted off onto another planet. Mind blowing stuff. 🤯
Excellent UHD picture and high quality sound. The makers do their amazing subject justice.
I did a presentation in grade school on these, nudi branches, and octopi. They're such fascinating organisms.
This is the last evidence I needed. Jellyfish are now my favourite animals. I never knew the answer to the question but these... they're just too beautiful and interesting
I have a new appreciation for jellyfish after this. Wow.
i just got this in my recommended and watched it all. ive never really watched any videos like this before
Just got to watch this..
It happened again!! You’re even on my Channel’s ‘always approve’ list so this shouldn’t be happening! I’m so sorry this keeps happening
Well anyway, what I was saying is that yeah, anemones and jellyfish are very rare in the fossil record.
What are the conditions and processes that allow such a rare event to occur?
found myself falling in love with jellyfish recently, not only is this a very informative documentary, but also very relaxing and entertaining to watch!
i love your channel so much! it helps me a lot because its so organized and straightforward. timestamps, playlists, etc. its all so helpful! and all your videos look so nice and you explain things so well.
Thank you so much, I love organising and planning the videos, I have a desire to make everything neat for some reason 😂 really appreciate the kind feedback
I love these videos, it’s the perfect thing to watch at anytime, my career if I could choose would be either a marine biologist or a hematologist
Outstanding video. Soothing voice of the narrator and chill music to go along with it. Has to be one of my favourite videos here on RUclips. 💜
just found this channel and im in love! subscribed bc now i wanna learn everything about the ocean.
This opening monologue has real “LoTR fellowship opening” vibe and I’m here for it
I stumbled upon this channel but I love it!
The voiceover is so soothing!
Hi I'm a biology major student and I love this video , the content , your voice and the way you present all the details. Also, I'm amazed with your editing skills, i love the transition . I'll keep on supporting you❤️
Great channel, I'm gonna binge all the videos
I was today years old when I learned that jellies, anemones and coral are all cousins. Thank you for this info, I actually needed it for a fantasy story I'm creating but even if I didn't need it, it's still cool to learn this stuff
This brought me so much joy thank you
I can listen to this narrators voice, all day all night.
Very beautyful vedio lovely under sea water creatures are seen the sea field.
This is awesome! Different kinds of jellyfish take up a large portion of my "favorite animals" list. They're so gorgeous! It's awesome to know that they're also integral to the ocean's communities. The haunting Stygiomedusa, smacks of lil' moon jellies, and stunning Pacific Sea Nettles are just some of my absolute favorites.
Thanks for posting this!
The jellies of this sentient smack are ever-grateful :))
This was utterly fascinating and really well put together! It was informative while also very entertaining. Thank you!
This is a really beautiful video and you tell it all in such a way that adds to it's beauty. Thank you
Thank you so much Elizabeth!!
@@NaturalWorldFacts Thank you for making such beautiful videos and caring about the life you present. I agree with others, it is perhaps the best RUclips
This is absolutely gorgeous.
Thank you❣️
narrator has a fantastic voice, nicely done!
Interesting and very useful.Thank you 'Natural World Facts' team ! Great job !
i'm actually having a breakdown right now, in the middle of the night. Your voice is calming me a bit because it reminds me of something... i dont know what, but it's calming me. thank you for your videos
But reaching the lake is difficult.
this is such an amazing video !! thank u for creating such informational and enjoyable content
Thanks Sena 😁 really glad you enjoyed!!
much funkier music in this video than in others! less peaceful, but also probably more appropriate for shorter videos. LOVE this channel
