My s22 Ultra is unlocked and is suddenly no longer fully compatible with T-Mobile's network for some dumb unclear reason... So, im sorta upgrading against my will.

I’ll be going from my S22U, not because I need to, but because Mum needs a new phone and she gets my hand me downs😄, and with her using my last phone, a note 10. software support ended for that in October - last year, but is still going fine. I just want her to be up to date on the security front. the note 9 is finally having issue with apps, but phone is still good. The worst thing about them is drop off in software support. but that have sorted that now with 7 yrs.
Totally agree with you. I switched from S22 Ultra to S23 Ultra because of battery life. I'm sure that S23Ultra, S24 Ultra and S25Ultra are not that different. I want the Zfold 7 if it has a 5x periscope lens.

They should do something for Spen. It's been same for a long time. Though Samsung's ultra models are rebranded Notes, they should've done some to improve or bring something new to make people use it more. The opposite is the case. Because the new and old OS versions are installed on separate partitions you can easily roll back to the old version if something goes wrong. This isn't possible with the way it's currently done. Also, most phones have been doing it this way for years now. Only samsung is late to the party.
I dont care about installing updates faster, but the ease of rollback is gamechanger. Too bad they're not upgrading panel tho, may have to pass this year for that as i already have s24U
Tsmc won't fix the tensor chips. Exynos 2400 was way more powerful than the tensor chip this year and they used the same Samsung process. It's a design issue not a manufacturing issue.

Have the S23 Ultra and upgrade every other year. That anti-scratch feature will be nice, since I have no luck with any material screen covers not bubbling and end up just going without, only using a Spigen case. Auto updates will be nice, unless they suck up a lot of memory resources. I'm hoping T-Mobile will have the 16 GB variant, but I'm not holding my breath.

Dude, if they keep amping up the brightness we are gonna go blind. I think brightness is good enough at this point. And yes, I know you can adjust the brightness, but an old 50% brightness on an older device for example, will probably now look like an 80% brightness on the new one if that makes sense. I cannot describe what I am thinking
To be fair, you're not meant to use that brightness in a lowlight setting. You should only be using that high level of brightness in an area with levels of high luminosity i.e in direct sunlight. Anti reflective + high brightness allows you use your phone comfortably outdoors
Your comment makes no sense. What you meant to say is: setting your brightness to 80% on an old phone will look like the 50% setting on a new phone. But even that is probably not true since our senses perceive things on a logarithmic scale. So going from 1000 nits to 2000 nits does not look twice as bright but rather 20% brighter (this is just a very rough estimate).
The point is that devices are getting brighter and it is not just Samsung. Other phones don't have that anti reflective screen and so they will be brighter and more damaging to the eyes. And honestly that anti reflective probably isn't going to stop it all anyway especially if Samsung keeps increasing the brightness every year anyway. Idk, we will just see how maybe people will lose their sight sooner than they should in this life
I'm just sorry they didn't stick to the beautiful square look of the ultra phones. The rounded corners make the ultra look a bit of a cheap phone by looks with the rounded corners. Hope Samsung learns their lesson and go back the the original ultra square look.
