Simmons is on all the time, but from a guy who remembers them on the Paul Lynne Halloween Special and the Midnight Special it does an old heart proud to see them get kudos they deserve on TV 35 years later. Personelle have changed Peter and Ace are missed -- But Tommy Thayer earned his Kiss Straps -- and while Eric singer has been around the Block with Alice cooper He is a great asset to the band as well LONG LIVE KISS! TRUE BELIVERS BE COUNTED!
You don't stay in the industry 36 years and sell 100,000,000 LPs worldwide without kicking butt. And KISS is still so damn good they really show how smart it is to stay away from drugs and alcohol. They seem in better shape than many bands 1/2 their age. Amazing. I'll have to pay to see this tour.
I saw them in Boston the night before this and they were awesome...no better than awesome, they were KISS. The show is worth every penny. Paul did sound a little hoarse, but he still hit the high notes on the Black Diamond opening so it was barely noticeable. I preordered the new CD from Walmart, so I'll be getting 2 KISSes in the mail this week, Sonic Boom and the live CD from the Boston show. Can't WAIT!
Bit of trivia: The drummer of the Paul Shaffer band is Anton Fig, he is also the drummer who played on the "I was made for Loving you" single and some other songs on the Dynasty album.
KISS was my first live concert, when I was 16, back in 74. Was the most fun I've ever had at a concert. And the LOUDEST - my hearing was messed up for two days. KISS is just a FUN band. BLACK DIAMOND!!!
This was AWESOME! contrary to the previous poster, Tommy Thayer wailed all over Frehley. AND he did it in key & in tune! And Paul sang just fine. Sonic Boom is an excellent record!

ac/dc, metallica, motley crue and kiss i am big fans of they made some of the greatest albums the world has heard but they have been out of the game so long they made the new albums for the fans and all the albums didnt cut it, but its ok where just glad to see and hear them again rock and roll all nite
Peter Criss also suffered from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, so he wouldn't be ROAD WORTHY as a KISS drummer anymore. This is one the RARE moments that KISS are ACTUALLY playing LIVE on TV!!!! Most other times (in the '70s & '80s) in the past they've lipped synched!!! But these days that doesn't CUT IT! GREAT PERFORMANCE!!!
Well,I had a luck to meet with Tommy and I have tosay: he is one of the most friendly musician,with who I ever met! Even he is very inteligent and good guitarrist! Altought, he played in a Kiss tribute band and one - maybe - more new members will to join to KISS as Demon,Starchild character and so on...as Paul Stanley says: the Kiss is a lifestyle not a one year trend...
And to be clear, 'Sonic Boom' is in the realm of 350,000-400,000 units as of right now. Only 10 albums in 2011 went 'Gold'. The state of the music business is dire and most people download and for an older rock act like KISS, they sold very well. Just look at Van Halen's new album this year, it's barely done any better than KISS' last studio effort. That's what rock acts sell today.
Those guys are in their mid 60's goddamnit. They can suck from time to time. Doesnt make anything worse or so. Still fucking love them and will see them in a few days. And i think i wont recognize any mistakes in live situation, even though it may all sound horrible when listened to it after having some time in between. Doesnt matter to me, because live is life.;)
in all honesty kiss would not be here if peter and ace were still in the band. kiss kicked ass in the 80s and 90s it doesnt matter whos in kiss they continue to rock.
They may be old, but they are still KIZZ. And to be honest, I loved the whole package. Including the DVD and Klazzik Kizz. Three discs for 14 bucks?? Damned right. Those that dont like KIZZ need not listen, Im sure Gene would say the same thing

I only sort of agree. The original line-up didn't suck, musically, until 1979. post-Peter, the remaining 3 were tight with Eric Carr. After the Reunion, they got really bad on the Farewell Tour. All 4 of them just going through the motions. It's great to see the band, as a unit, is back in such great shape.

I liked Anomaly better than Sonic Boom but I have to say that both are awesome albums,I saw Kiss like a week ago,even though that Ace and Peter were not there,Kiss is still transmiting that magic and offer memorable shows,Paul voice is just amazing right now and it' amazing that he's still keeping his voice,Kiss is still great and you would be making a big mistake if you don't go see Kiss because Ace and Peter are not there,I'm a big Ace fan and I enjoy both bands!

Im tired for people hating on eric and tommy, yes, they are not peter and ace, but they are not ment to be either peter or ace, they are ment to keep the "original" concept of the band which is the starchild, the demon, the spaceman and the catman, eric and tommy using peter's and ace's makeup (as far as i know) was actually paul's and gene's idea, i heard rumors that eric was going to use a hawk style makeup which could have been true, and honestly i think tommy and eric are much better

I can't help but think of Sonic the Hedgehog whenever I hear Sonic Boom.

Ok I have been a Kiss fan since I was 7. I am 37 today and I have to say Tommy and Eric are better. They are tight here.
