They took the coolest shadow-puppeteer in fighting game history and turned him into a walking "kick me" sign. Every change feels like a personal attack on Zato mains. It's like they sat down and thought, "How can we make this character absolutely useless?" And boy, did they succeed. Now, playing Zato feels like trying to win a marathon with your shoelaces tied together. You know it's bad when half the time you're just standing there, twiddling your thumbs, waiting for Eddie to come back. Might as well make a sandwich or do your taxes while you're at it. By the time you can actually do something, the round is already over. That's not a fighting game, that's a turn-based RPG where your only move is "Block and Pray (Air OK)". This isn't game balance; it's character genocide. Zato players aren't just nerfed, we're endangered. We deserve compensation for this. Full refunds plus interest, and maybe a personal apology from Daisuke himself. Throw in some therapy sessions too, because we're gonna need them while we're stuck in the lab, trying to figure out how to win with what's basically a sentient punching bag with occasional puppet privileges. Zato-1? More like Zato-None, because that's about how much of a chance we've got now.
I'm hoping we'll get a version of this video in the future that talks about the biggest winner in each patch, though that might be more discussed than the most nerfed it'd still be interesting. Any plans in the future for more character deep dive videos like you've done for Sol? Domi's series of vids talking with prominent character reps has been a big pleasure to watch and I think it'd be cool to hear your opinion on other characters in Strive. Great Watch

sorry john but normal cooldown for zato was ridiculous. all for making his other options stronger tho. but even as someone who wants to main zato, the cooldown was dumb considering how much power there is.
something people dont bring up a lot about millia is how our blockstrings are really bad in the corner and the knockdowns are easier to block without meter for tkbm (although i think most people think they're still hard). you can't really vortex as easily on corner knockdowns because the wall has to break, and even with a super knockdown you can't keep the momentum going unless you have another bar of tension to do a mixup with tkbm/2s. so we have the worst health, the worst damage*, the worst blockstrings, and we don't even get to keep momentum going if we're winning, but somehow the other contender for worst character this patch is someone who cant do parry rc, like my bad

the whole circus is tournaments and finals, where chaos, solos and other top tiers predominate for 3 years. If Millia were that good, then the character would oppress opponents at the highest level, but she only loses@@matmil5
