Yep, I call defective too. An escalator is strong enough to suck down an adult and squash them to death, a simple jump wouldn't cause it to stop abruptly. People jump around on escalators constantly.

The fact that it's her SISTER has nothing to do with it, it was merely that it was in VR, sure. I have a feeling he won't be that distraught by the divorce. And knowing that the SIL is divorcing will probably make him act on it, even though she's already in another relationship. By how off his perception of things is, I'm pretty sure SIL was never into him and it was all in his mind.

I've heard that the plates at the ends of escalators are really thin and people who work on/with them don't trust them because its literally a thin piece of metal keeping you from falling into a hell of metal teeth so hes definitely stupid for jumping on that

The jump might have registered as someone falling from the escalator, so the impact at the bottom caused it to stop I think

It was/wasnt they can come to a stop like that but he was only the final factor, you place a toddler down to hard and if it's already on the verge it does this and takes 1hr to fix because most places like airports have airports have everything ready and on hand. Malls however can take 2-4 weeks depending on money

@@khaza1wolfgurl i think that it wasn't the guys fault someone else did something. Maybe something got stuck into it like a purse's handle or something quite big that's can pull the whole escalator down and tumbled. A normal jump cannot do this. Because they are made of metal.

I think it was just a coincidence that the escalator jammed right when he got off. I’ve never seen anybody stop the thing just from hitting the bottom plate hard. And I’ve seen loads jump from 3-5 steps high.
There is no way the plate should be that sensitive. There are times when I do something atypical but by chance something crazy happens. It’s nothing but bad luck.

I kept listening to this and I thought about something that happened. So I was with this guy, we were together for like 3 years (my first serious relationship). Anyways he had this cousin that I never met before. His cousin recently got broken up with her companion at that time and asked me if she can move in with us. Happily I said yes month went by and she lived with us. She was weird and I got really weird vibes. She would be super close with my boyfriend, which I figured was them just being close. So after 4 months went by I got another job to help support her since she never worked or anything. One day I was absolutely sick due from lack of sleep and exhaustion, I left early from my day job to sleep and I went home early without calling my boyfriend. I got back and when I was walking to our apartment door I heard music playing loud and a weird smell. Like a dumb dumb I walked in. I walked in on them fucking! The smell was from blood which I only assume was period blood. The “cousin” was a girl who he met online and they had a secret relationship that went on while she lived with us. It was kink they shared and while I was working two jobs they would bump uglies. So I left. Called my mom, moved my things, told the landlord to remove my name from the lease and put hers down and did not speak to them after that.

The first OP REALLY F-ed up, and IS REALLY F-ed up. Good on the wife for leaving him.
This isn't him watching 'porn' this is him finding something that wasn't meant for his viewing and viewing it anyways.
The thing a lot of people were missing in comments is that porn and porn stars CONSENT to letting EVERYONE view it.
The SIL here DID NOT give consent to that guy viewing it.

It was an issue because clearly OP was harboring feelings for the sister in law, went so far to not just WATCH the thing but do so with a VR headset on meaning he wanted to get as much as possible and get off on it, spoke clearly in his post that had things been different he might've ended up with the sister in law, he had a tracking app on his wife to be aware of her movements (he might've said it was to help with groceries but I call bs, ladies if your man does something like that it's likely so he can do shady stuff and wants to make sure YOU won't find out), and was still trying to push the envelope and get lucky with the two of them even AFTER this massive f up.
The wife didn't want to stick around with a guy who she know knows is very much into her sister. That's awful because it damages the foundation of their relationship.
As OP even says, he wanted the 'best of both worlds' he wanted to marry the one he married, while lust after the sister he'd want to bang (and when the opportunity presented itself he got as close to it as he possibly could)
So yeah he essentially cheated on her, and acted as a peeping tom on the sister.
To those saying 'well she shouldn't have left it on the camera' that's still not an invitation for him to look at it.
Much the same as there being a hole in a bathhouse does not mean a man can just peek in on the women inside.

And let's not forget that this woman, after deciding the relationship was unsalvageable, lied to her husband's face. She and her sister 'camped out' in the living room rather than being upfront about her wanting out of the relationship. That's pretty fucking low.
And as for "well, she gave him a camera with a video on it, that doesn't mean he's allowed to look at it!" So, no culpability for the sister in law that sparked all of this? She **knew** (or should have known) that there might be unresolved feelings between her and her brother in law, but she gets off scot free for giving him a camera with a dark, forbidden fantasy preloaded onto it? I'm sorry, but he doesn't take all the blame on this one. If you give someone incriminating evidence on a flash drive and they turn around and get you arrested, you don't get released with the argument "well, they shouldn't have opened the files!"
The guy watching the video of his wife's sister on the VR headset definitely F-ed up in a few different ways (including posting it on reddit). And I understand his wife being mad and wanting to divorce him over it. But as this is all apparently rather recent (he mentions going to see Detective Pikachu, which came out recently), and so it's likely that neither him and his wife have completed their divorce yet, nor has the sister and her husband completing there's. HOWEVER...
With that being the case, his wife needs to be careful in how she handles this divorce. The guy, albeit briefly, felt like things might be fine and felt like he was on the "inside" knowing the sister's secret. And the sister clearly doesn't want her husband knowing about the video because it could give him a leg up in their divorce case. With the OP of this story now being "in the dog house" and going through his own divorce, what incentive does he have to keep this a secret from the sister's husband? Sure, sis's husband was having his affair first and therefore screwed up, but that doesn't entirely excuse the sister for what she was doing. Gotta love his wife sticking up for her sister (who is arguably doing something far worse than the OP did), while acting like the OP is far worse. And I would imagine that the wife is going to want to use catching him "pleasuring himself" to that video as ammo for her divorce case from him. But if so, word will likely travel about what is going on, and whether it is via the OP or through some other means, there's a good chance that the sister's husband could find out about it someway if it is used as part of the OP/OP's wife divorce case.
Also possible thst the whole store from both sisters may have been a cover up plot to make sure op didnt see her bags in the room and didn't question anything until wifey was gone. This story is full of *twists*

I'm no lawyer and but I'm fairly sure from a legal standpoint that he didn't commit adultery.
That said the sister-in-law or ex now may have a case about him watching the video but I'm really unsure about that.
I'm not a lawyer, but (assuming this happened in the US) I'm pretty sure he won't face any legal ramifications for watching the video. The SIL willingly gave him the device on which the video was stored, so it's not like he took it from her without consent. Accidents happen; maybe she didn't intend the video for him, but she still gave it to him. It would be like making an adult video to share with your SO via email, then accidentally sending it to your entire address book. Outside the US, things may be different.

You didn't lie. This video was a ROLLERCOASTER from start to finish. The first OP... got what he deserved. If I'd walked in on that, I would be very displeased as well. Who voluntary agrees to link everything and share location with someone? Anyone? Like, wow, that was a red flag for trust issues from both sides already.
I think it might be for emergency reasons, like how op said he was worried she might not be able to call the police or ambulance with a low battery. In that case they know where each other are if it's serious.
Um, I really don't think its a trust thing in that situation. My friends family (parents and 2 teen daughters) have the app, or something similar, and I've seen my friend use it a few times just to check who's home or if they're almost somewhere to be picked up etc. I think it's a pretty useful app if used wisely, though of course some people will abuse the system.
To say nothing of the fact that you're basically inviting the NSA (or equivalent) everywhere you go (including your home) to track you... In between listening to you and activating your camera without your knowledge. If you're okay with that, you are a fool. I will not own a smartphone for this reason. Beware of 'smart' technology.

I am a bit confused about the husbands sister-in-law story. If I found my husband doing that yes I would be incredibly upset... but divorcing him over it? I feel like that is a bit much. Also.. I thought her reading the reddit post would help him. He talks about how sick he felt over it and how worried he was about ruing everything...? Oh Lord, the escalator story reminds me of at my work. It's a two floor bookstore, there's an escalator & an elevator. This old man with a walker thought he'd take the escalator down (his wife left him alone for a minute) & he tumbled all the way down. I work in the cafe, didn't see it, but my manager did. All of a sudden he yells, "OH SHIT!" and vaults over the railing surrounding the dining area! I never found out how badly hurt the man was. Paramedics were called & took him & wife away in the ambulance. Some of elderly people cannot be left alone, we have a lot of older regulars, & they make pretty irrational decisions. Lovely people, but we gotta keep an eye on them

@@raveneskridge3143 From what I've gathered is that Jared's wife pushed him into having an open relationship (proof found in the screenshots of texts), Holly and Jared tried having a relationship, at the time Holly and Ross were divorced and Holly assures everyone that the nude sharing pics with fans were all with adults (they have proof but they can't show due to legal reasons).
So in short the worst thing Jared has done is have fans send him nudes which remains to be seen in court if he's guilty of pedophilia or not. In the case he's not guilty Jared's pretty much off the hook.

So I'm only 5 minutes in but I'm calling 50 shades of BS on this story.
1. Why do you need a tracking app to know when to help with groceries? Just text when you get home, or leave the store. Personal opinion, tracking apps are creepy as hell and I'd never have one for a significant other, nor would I demand they have one. But I digress.
2. I'm assuming, since the video was originally on a camera, that it was downloaded and played on a phone via a cardboard VR? Like Oculus Gear? Well here's the thing, those lenses (AKA the phone screen) go dark once you take them off until you either put the headset back on, or until you hit back and close out of the app/movie player function. The VR headsets all go dark when taken off too, not just mobile, so even if he was using a Rift or a PSVR, the wife wouldn't have seen anything without putting the whole thing on her head. I know, I've used all three of the aforementioned headsets, plus the Vive. They all do it.
3. So watching porn in a VR headset is a crime now? The hell? (referring to the wife losing her mind over seeing the headset, not after supposedly seeing the sister)
4. The biggest one so far. So, OP says that her tracking app isn't working, because her phone's dead.
A. How would he know where she went anyway? He's naked, jerking it on the bed. Unless the phone's in the VR headset- and even then, usually, notifications get silenced.
B. He says that the tracking app notifies him after she storms off, saying she's arrived at a neighbor's house.
