Love that Ken Rockwell…the quality of what he says is in the pictures he takes. Let me see some of these other RUclips dudes do that. His photos are always stunning. Thanks Ken!!!!
Thank you - and my photos with the X-T4 are pretty bad by my standards. Thanks for noticing!!!
I think holding the trash can button goes straight to the formatting card option.
Lock buttons for dials has been chnaged from the X-T1 as users requested push to lock or unlock.
Thanks!
Hold the delete button and then click the right wheel to format the cards. Don’t have to dig through the menus.
Thanks!!!!!
Nice no frills but useful video. Thanks Ken!
Thanks!
I don’t even shoot Fujifilm but here I am...well done as always!
Thanks!
Best tips on YT, thank you.
Thanks!!!
Thank you so much for such useful tips
Thank you!!
damn that last point is so helpful and important!
Thank you!
Hi Ken
I might have missed it, but what lens is that in the video? I ask really as a size guide as to the physical life size not so much for the Focal length of it!
16-80mm f4 www.kenrockwell.com/fuji/x-mount-lenses/16-80mm.htm thanks!
Hi Ken how are you doing, seeking your guidance on Fujifilm camera X T 4, I purchased X T 4 recently, but I am beginner to learn photography, because I belong to media industry and I worked in the surroundings of cameras, since a very long time that was my passion to learn photography that is why I purchased X T 4 with 18 -55 MM lenses. I am a vlogger, can you please guide me best settings of “stills” as my rang of photography is big cities, rivers, beaches, jungle - mountains, foods - restaurants etc. With your help I want to take the best stills from Fujifilm X T 4. Please give some tips. Regards.
Hi! See www.kenrockwell.com/fuji/x-t4.htm#usage I set my film simulation to its default normal position and my color (saturation) to the maximum. Thanks!
Thank you for the tutorial! I bought a X-H1 some days ago (new for only 800 €) with a used 18-55 lens and I'm very happy so far. Only thing that's really annoying is the constant noise the camera makes as soon as it's switched on because of the IBIS.
Primary I wanted a Z6 but Nikon doesn't release the Z lenses I need ...
Thanks! Agreed, Nikon has never made the Z lenses we need.
Ken, great detailed video. I've read your review on the XF 16-80 f4 lens, would you buy a copy to shoot with it professionaly photo and video journalism? Or you'd go with the red badge XF16-55 f2.8? (I have the 16-80, but I find it soft on the sides, even processing RAF in C1, and not as sharp and contrasty as other Fujinon lenses). I was surprised reading your review on your site. I'd appreciate your feedback. Cheers!
I prefer the smaller and faster 18-55/2.8-4 www.kenrockwell.com/fuji/x-mount-lenses/18-55mm.htm thanks! I only use iPhone for video.
Thank you sir for your reply!
Everyone says how bad Olympus menus are.
I agree the iso dial is a big waste of real estate
Thanks!
Can those those flappy leather straps where the strap attaches be removed? I use peak design and have no need for those.
Yes. Remove the split ring first. Thanks!
FORMAT SHORTCUT: Hold DELETE for 3 seconds then press rear comman dial.
Thanks!
Why would you want to use ISO lower than the base ISO of this camera (160). Won't this reduce dynamic range?
No; it increases highlight contrast for sharper, snappier pictures. Dynamic range doesn’t mean anything by itself; you have to match your lighting to the camera. Thanks!
Excellent! You know what is important and/or interesting. I will still hang on to my Nikon D7200. The only thing it is missing, that I would like to have, is a twisty screen.
7200 rules. These Fujis disturb me with their bad ergonomics. Thanks!
I require a camera that enjoys abuse. I shoot mostly on the streets of Bangkok at least ten hours a week. A D7200 lasts over two years under these rugged conditions and my carelessness. -----On the D7200s I have purchased the flashes always break in the first couple of weeks and the door gets lost from my battery. Otherwise, I am very pleased. --------------- I bought a D7500 recently but I like the 7200 better. The flash broke on the 7500 immediately as well. I am certain the flash breaking is my fault.----------- D7500 is good for shooting the street dogs. because of the swively screen. I looked at some Sonys and Fujis and got the impression that if I got excited I might absent-mindedly crush them with my bare hands.---------- Your instructional sites were my most useful sites as I learned photography. They were nonsense free. I like that. I also always check your reviews when I buy something. I understand I have to read carefully between the lines for the best info. and the humor.
Never ever use cheap wires on any electronics especially expensive ones that have to do with charging your unit. NEVER
I take risks and usually win. Thrill seeker. Thanks!
