Everything is getting more expensive these days. The eu3200i costs around $2,600+. I've owned a Honda eu2000 inverter/generator for 9+ years now...still runs/looks like new. I paid over $900 back then for it (which was pricey back then). I don't think that now because the little guy has been a rock solid gem. Not one problem with it -- a keeper. FWIW, the eu3200i with fuel injection, more watts, still low weight, and being a "Honda" is a decent price point. But, many (if not most) will look elsewhere for a better deal in that price range.
The engine is now a 130cc vs 200cc on the older EU3000. 🤔 No wonder it’ll be more fuel efficient. But what about noise? Definitely going to be louder running at higher revs.
Most importantly it's Fuel Injected! no more carburetor! That explains the efficiency and high output out of gx130 engine. I wish it would be California legal.

There is no doubt Honda makes great generators. However they’re missing the importance of dual fuel. Having a propane Option is very important when living in a rural communities.
Not just rural but back up power on grid because gasoline has such a short shelf life. LP you can store for decades and burns cleaner. They will probably offer a conversion kit like they did on the eu2000i and eu2200i, but this thing is already cost prohibitive.
Propane or LPG as we call it here in Australia as an alternative fuel would be excellent. If it had that I would have bought it by now rather than still looking around for which to buy. It why I am looking through all the comments here.
Nice portable generator but has no electric start for Auto/Remote start capabilities. If you took the fuel injection and cold start tech and installed it in the EU3000IS you would really have something. EU3000IS still the best generator for off grid and RV.
IMHO this generator was designed specifically to be carried by one person, at just under 60lbs, the OSHA standard. That’s what dictates all other criteria. It is not a price or feature driven product.
I don’t think is it safe to be carried by one person. Went to a dealer who had one on display and lifted it and for me a 66 yo male was way to heavy and awkward to walk with it. The potential to hurt oneself carrying any distance personally was too high.
Hi Ted, thanks for reaching out. Your local Honda dealer will be best able to assist you with this inquiry. You can locate the dealer nearest you at atvsxs.honda.ca/dealerlocator.
I read a Honda Release that said the EU3200IC = Note the "C" was available in Canada. I hunted, so far, I can not find it. I tried finding a comparison between the EU3200i, and EU3200IC, and could not find that either. I am interested in a Honda generator, but i am confused as to what precisely is available. Talking to 2 different dealers, was not helpful in resolving the issue. Do all EU3200's in Canada have bluetooth, or is that what the "C" stands for. One dealer told me bluetooth option was only available in the US. I like the bluetooth idea, and want it. But i want to be certain I am actually getting it before i put my Visa Card through the machine ! That parallel kit looks very interesting too, yes, I know, its later ! Great portability, and great power !
The only difference is that the Canadian version has the cold climate technology, which is just a few small changes to the air cleaner assembly. It's not really a big deal, especially if you're not operating Arctic conditions.
Live in Australia went to a dealer that had one on display and they are not very portable. 27kg is a lot to carry……there needs to be good sized rear wheels with an extendable handle so you can wheel it safely. I tore muscles around my floating ribs which I am still recovering from carrying a very similar weighted water container. Love the build quality and features and the EFI not having to worry about carburettor fuel draining after shutting down. The other concern is run time under load I feel 3 and half hours loaded you would need to have a connected fuel tank to add some more reasonable run times. I have seen third party kits that allow parallel fuel using marine fuel tanks and BERG adaptor kits that look to do the job, not necessarily seen it done on the EU3200i but can’t see why it couldn’t be done. Still interested in the EU3200i as I have recently purchase a sack truck which overcomes the weight issue just exploring the extended fuel/run time solution now.
