@2:58 you might want to double check this info, I do not believe you can parallel the new 3200 with the old 2000's. I did a brief check but you might want to double check, I don't think it's right. The EU3200i manual states do not connect the 3200i to any other type of generator. I know the EU2200i could only be connected to other 2200i's and a select few eu2000i's that were made after a certain date. Just wanted to give a heads up.

@@ThisWeekWithCars Well that is fantastic info. Interesting how the manual specifically forbids it, but good to know otherwise. That RPod camper on the LMTV is sweet, by the way.

They don’t have a DC charger. You can google Honda DC charging cable and find plenty of compatible ones. I actually just threw out like 10 of those cables.
There's no reason to use the 12 volt output unless it's an absolute emergency. A tiny 120 volt battery charger will provide substantially more power to charge your batteries than the native 12v ever did.
So, Honda has been fuel injecting their cars since sometime in the 80's, but a carburetor has been on their generators all along? I guess there is a lot of competition in the generator market and FI was too expensive, but it has been a long time coming.
I've been reading about A LOT of starting problems with this fuel injected generator tending to flood very easily, especially in northern climates. Many bad reviews on Honda's site, all with this same problem. I know it seems obvious but I do think you should mention the danger of running these things without ventilation. A local family here in the UK killed their son by using one in the basement when there were floods . A petrol powered pump I assume. These days you can’t make assumptions about general knowledge.
He doesn't have to mention anything. All generator sets in the united states' come with carbon monoxide sensors that shut off the gen set if a situation occurs where idiots kill others or themselves with exhaust fumes like the case you mentioned. No reliability goes down, cost of generators goes up, for something pretty obvious. Millions of people have been using them since the 60's, and it's extremely rare people are stupid enough to kill themselves with them. If so, usually done purposely per statistics here in the states.
Yes, and perhaps he should mention the dangers of going outside in 22 degree weather without a jacket, or drinking the gasoline he's using to fuel the generator. Where does it end? If running an internal combustion engine indoors sounds like a good idea to somebody, they most certainly should not own a generator to begin with.

Agreed efi has way more to break and diagnosing without the software can be a pain. If you put ethanol free and run a carb outta gas when your storing it you will never have issues and it will start easy every time.
Sometimes technology is good but my generator is supposed to be there for me when technology fails, so therefore i just want gravity fed fuel, nice little generator but i will stick to my Eu30is for a while
There are other models with carb. Efi is certainly better than any carb . More fuel efficient, more reliable & not even that complicated. Parts are cheap . Honda has efi in generators for a decade now & there is not a single reported problem with the fuel injection in eu7000is..
Is it true that the carbureted models need the head removed and de-coked at set intervals? I imagine fuel injection would eliminate this.
@@steveallen1340 yes that is every 500hrs. But most of us do it when the engine stops working 😆
Too bad you can’t run it on propane.
It's a great genset 8 out of 10 🌟 . But it's not an electric remote start. Still a pain in the ass to go outside in the cold and pull start it. It would have gotten 10 out of 10 if it had an electric remote start from my phone
It would be so heavy it would no longer be portable and the EFI makes it start right up in the cold, not a big deal.
@@ThisWeekWithCars actually not true. Many portable units that’s are E-start and remote now. Very portable
