    I just changed the battery in my 3000i and I love the quietness of that machine. I also have a victron 12v/3000va inverter with a 4000Ah lifepo4 CALB battery and use that for the ultimate quiet system. I really appreciate the video here, might I suggest setting the cooktop to 9 or 8 so that you can find a power load that both gensets can run then compare the noise given a fixed load. Thanks for taking the time to put these through their paces.

    This is just what is needed for partial rv backup. Operates the ac and stuff perfectly. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxOTeIs0vv4_9B5hsmnLsk9r930uDQLu_Y is quieter than my rv generator. Only suggestion is that it needs a fuel shutoff valve. So it is easier to store.

    Great video, Gavin! They both have their pluses. For me, the 3200 is best. Mainly for the weight. Now I know Honda quality is great but the price is crazy on any of them. If my now 4 year old Westinghouse ever dies, I'll consider a Honda long and hard. As good as my Westy is running, it may be a while.

      I have both. If you have to move it the 3200 is better, but if you are stationary: the larger fuel tank, the electric start and the fact the 3000 is much quieter give the 3000 edge (if you don't have to lift it).

    EU3200i = 10.0:1

    With a 50% bigger engine and lower compression, my hunch is the bigger loafing generator may outlast the smaller harder working generator by a fair margin if they are seeing higher draws and long run times. Being EFI though, the smaller may have considerable advantage at higher altitude and when changing altitude regularly.

    Oh man! This is exactly the test I've been waiting for. It's a compromise between the two. Apparently the engineers won't let you have your cake and eat it too. If they give you everything, they don't sell new units that they sandbag and hold back, always leaving you wanting a newer model that still won't do it all.
    I want the smaller one, but the run time, quietness, and longevity of the larger one is definitely going to be better. Less rpm from the larger displacement engine is going to wear longer, as it's over built, and less rpms, mean less wear. Plus you get the electric start.
    I'll be switching gears and going with dual eu2000is's, and do a very large 240 split phase inverter on a 800ah lithium setup for large intermittent loads. Like cooking, laundry and water heater duty. I have the roof space for a ton of solar, but still want a stout backup, and I think it'll be hard to beat dualing 2200's on the 12 gal extended tank I've already invested in. They'll fit in compartments better, lighter, and if one fails, ya still have half of your power.
    I've thought good long and hard about it for quite a while now, and my trade off will be more maintenance, a bit more fuel, setup time and two pulls instead of one. That will be a rare occasion with the setup I have planned. The good is more raw heavy power, redundancy, and cheaper initial investment.
    Gavin, without these vids, I'd probably go another 6 months thinking way too much about it. Now it's simple, buy the companion, link them up, and spend the $ I save on the solar portion, which will be used most until the clouds come out for an extended period.
    Awesome vids as usual, a like and comment for support. Best Genset tester and reviews on RUclips period. Thanks for what you do for us brother, I most certainly appreciate it. Have a great day. Time for me to go get that paper.

      @@joebrown9621 i don't know where you live, but here in India. eu30is goes for 1200$ and 70is goes for 2500$. parts are super cheap aswell for honda oem parts. most of the small components that come from japan are a bit pricy but rest of the locally honda made parts at honda siel factory is so cheap that there is no market for imported china generators. i bought a used eu30i for 300$ , it had very low hours but the previous owner left the fuel on and the fuel rotted in the carb. i cleaned the carb. bought a whole set of gaskets , filters , tools from the honda dealership and the whole set was 30$. cleaned everything up in 3 days and it runs like a brand new set , in 2020 it ran 6 days non stop on propane after cyclone knocked out power for my home. my previous honda ebk was 25yrs old before it got stolen.

      What model of Champion is their quite model in comparison to Honda or Yamaha? I have personally never seen one that wasn’t as bad as a lawnmower.

      Champions are loud. If you don't mind noise, Champions are fine.

      I’ve owned both, I would never go back to a champion. Hondas are soooo easy to work on if they ever need it.
