Awesome Conversion! Perhaps a couple of options for this conversion kit could be: 1) A deeper rear cab bulkhead - for extended cab look allowing for in cab storage. 2) Chassis Frame extensions to extend the wheelbase in order to accommodate the extended rear cab bulkhead while retaining the benefit of using a 6 foot Ford Ranger bed. Just my two cents worth! -Rob in Tennessee
That thing looks cool. It’s the car Jeep should have built. They would sell millions of them here in Australia! Put a frame on the back with a roof top tent and it would be the ultimate overlander!
It definitely has the Australian vibe. It actually was recently featured in and Aussie magazine (Jeep Action Magazine). I haven't gotten my hands on it yet.
Thanks for the update. I have the kit but it doesn't come with any instructions! I can handle the assembly but I'm worried about cutting the tub incorrectly. Can you give any advice on where to cut?
We cut directly across the body seam in the middle of rear door I believe. Double check with GR8TOPS on that. I know we had to make an additional relief cut on the outer edge of the tub to allow the cab back to slide in, otherwise it was a straight cut across.
I think it is a cool idea and you have a slick unit .I to will be changing the look of mine . I love the brute but I'm not ready to drop 50,000.00 on a used unit . The look I'm going after is the honcho . Keep up the good work look forward to the one .
I LOVE THIS AND CANT WAIT TO BUY MY JK AND THEN CHOP IT INTO A SINGLE CAB. ONCE I GET MINE I WOULD LOVE TO SHOW YOU MY PROGRESS OVER THE TIME AND GAIN SOME ADVICE
dude i love your jeep its bad*ss. just an idea if you want to give it away i have room in my driveway. just a thought lol. i actually think the top can have a even taller bubble on top that way you can even have storage up there like those smittybuilt hard safari top.
I got to disagree with you bro! I love the look of the “bubble top” gives it that old school truck vibe! Also I love the new energy you’ve brought to the channel!… you must be watching a lot of Force Motoring videos and taking notes!
I love the kit and am seriously considering getting a second jku and building this. My question is, is it water tight? I get so annoyed when my hard top leaks and I’m just curious if leaks are eliminated or if you have more trouble with them?
The current kit is water tight, from what I am told. I have occasional issues with water with my roof being the first part made but I just need to adjust my seals.
Considering a jtruk conversion. How is road noise and any leak issues? I live in a rain forest, never had a Jeep that didn’t leak but has to be reasonable.
Leaks terribly. Road noise is no different. My roof actually holds water inside of it so I had to drill holes for it to drain. The floor in the back by the close off panel isn’t sealed either so I get a ton of water coming in the back. I can fix that, but the roof I can’t fix. I’m going to switch to freedom panels and make a piece for the back of the cab to make it work.
@@aguywithajeep hmm, ok, thanks, good to know for expectations. I have no desire for a setup that doesn’t have the enclosed cab/separate bed and this seems like best product out there for JK. Picked up a cheap jku ripe for this. Always regretted not doing a TJ Brute back in the day.
Yeah all the way back with a slight recline. I am 5’10 and fit fine. As for sound proofing… absolutely none. The roof itself actually makes more sound than freedom panels as well.

The roof is the best part. It has that old school fj40 & 60s willy's jeep look. The rig is badass
I love this truck. Might be time for another Jeep.
Do it 🤘
I love this Jeep. The flatbed is beyond awesome.

Cool rig, Matt does great work and a stand up guy!
This is what I plan on doing with my JKU after I don't need the rear row of seats.
Definitely worth it!
I like what you have done to your Jeep. I have a 2004 LJ I have deleted my back seat and back seat belts
I really like it. I turned my 01 4 door XJ into a pickup. Turned out nice to. You did a great job.
That’s how it should come from the factory. Seriously great looking Jeep
Agree they definitely should but hey we built our own! Thanks!
Make a storage compartment right behind the cab in-between the frame and the flat bed... like the Ev Rivan... nice build by the way
I love my Dodge build. But that Jeep flatbed is BADASS!
Definitely plan to make one of these, 100%. Love it!
I have an 6.0 am 465 04 tj I am thinking of doing this. I like it.
That build came out nice! Its a great inspiration for builders like myself!

That is a sick looking truck!
Love it! So freakin cool Jeep !! Hi from Sweden /Europe :-)
Thanks man, cheers 🍻
I love the look of it. looks better than a gladiator ..
This thing is crazy carlos ❤

Absolutely! Happy to help where I can. Instagram is probably easier to chat, dm me! @aguywithajeep
Have you thought about painting it powder blue with a white roof top? It would go well with that silver flat bed and those rims. Great truck!
Not a fan of the color. Too close to Carolina blue and as a duke fan that would never fly 😂
Sick ass build the flat bed was a great idea. Check out boosted battle toad it’s a sick build too. I want to do something unique with my ram.
I love it dude. My 09 is two so I can’t do that.
I think it looks awesome, the flat bed rules! And who needs groceries
I think it looks cool. It's different. I would do that if I had a 4 door.
But i think it would be great at hauling furniture. Especially with you helping.
haha it will haul it, I won't be much help though.

I'm thinking of making a 3/4 cab with a 1/4 pickup rear. Hope it turns out good.

Who's Force Motoring? lol
This is badass! I'm so tempted. Any info on that ranger flatbed - is that something that's readily available somewhere?
I have not been able to find it anywhere else. Not sure if it was a one off but it's made by Scottlite.
Looks great!
Maybe Matt can come up with an extended cab version 😎
Wow looks great
Love the look for sure. Wonder if a 50's ford or chevy stepside bed be used?
That would probably look pretty good!

The current kit is water tight, from what I am told. I have occasional issues with water with my roof being the first part made but I just need to adjust my seals.
I’m wondering? It looks like you have trimmed a lot of weight off of it. My question is has the gas mileage gone up since you switched it over?
Not noticeably. The Jeep still weighs right at 5k lbs

How much does the total cost of Parts?
can you move the seats all the way back with the back of the cab being right behind them?
also is there any sort of insulation or sound proofing on the inside of the cab back fiberglass?
Yeah all the way back with a slight recline. I am 5’10 and fit fine. As for sound proofing… absolutely none. The roof itself actually makes more sound than freedom panels as well.
I’d put the flatbed on my gladiator 😂 if I could find one
Move rear axle back and that would be sweet
Jkute kit was way way superior to this kit in most every way you mentioned annoys you. I’m sure you already knew that though..
Except for the fact that the cab isn’t divorced from the bed so it isn’t a true “truck”
If you want to sell the bed let me know I want it.
It’s long gone
