Can't wait to see this new build in action. I'm curious to see how you'll be doing cooking now, the water outlet is a great feature and the bed is no longer so claustrophobic, well done!.
Sweet man I’m stoked that water system worked out for you!
Thanks for the mention it means a ton!
Great video as always 👍🏻
I thought it was interesting to see him build that because I first saw that done on your channel a few months ago via the Minimalist Overland Jeep Kitchen Setup. I was checking out that video before I went to Death Valley and Alabama Hills back in March. Good to see the knowledge being shared among others.
I grew up in my father’s tool & die shop starting at age 12. Everything was clamped down and the feed of the material was by manual crank or automatic. When i started woodworking I was terrorized by pushing my hands towards an active blade but I created some awesome things. I then became an orthopaedic surgeon and spent 38 yrs treating saw injuries. There are tools to minimize injuries and I hope what you showed to inexperienced people doesn’t hurt someone.
So glad you were able to film the rebuild!
Love seeing people doing something with passion. Your videos, your car, and your taste of music is awesome. Good job, Drew 🔥🔥
I'm a hands on guy and I work in construction and I could watch this video over and over! Great job on the build and the video quality is insanely good! Looking forward to videos in the new build!
So clean 👌🏽
Beautiful woodwork.I have missed seeing your videos and am looking forward to seeing the full walk around when it’s done!
I think every single review says those roofs leak, but you are 100% right the extra head room and the light does make these safari roofs sweet.
I’ve watched this channel since 2019 right before I pulled the trigger to buy my Jeep and I’ve always used your build as inspiration.
I love how much you’ve grown and the following has grown! Love to see it sir! Keep it all up.
I'm just simply in AWE of this dude, and what he can do! Like Wow!
Drew your channel is incredible and I am so inspired by your work and adventurous lifestyle! I also love how humble and gentle you are. Your channel is uplifting and encouraging!! God bless you man!
Wow I can’t believe how quick this channel has grew! So happy for you man! I remember finding this gem of a channel when it had 8k and I was blown away at the quality of production, time spent making these videos and now you’re reaping the rewards ❤️
Love your travel videos, I have done a much less elaborate sleep platform in my JKU so I was intensely interested in your build. I learned a lot. (mainly that your carpenter skills are far superior to mine), I spent a summer in that jeep after I retired, now I'm the primary care giver for my parents, so there is a lesson there in the timing for adventures. Cease the day! And thank you for one of the best 30 minutes I've spent on You Tube.
Nice build, Drew. You should use the Raptor liner on the drawers and other wood, instead of staining and sealing it. It'll add an extra layer of protection, and looks great too.
Spray liner's usually pretty thick, it might not fit afterwards.
This is the greatest and most professional interior built that i have seen so far! Absolutely amazing. Cant wait to see the full setup soon!! Greetings from germany. And i hope you will upload many more camping vids
Awesome thank you for taking the time to document the build! Big improvement on the last build!
No reason for anyone to knock your wood working skills. Your killing it and looks great.
Make's me so keen to do something like this for my car. Just need the tools and the workshop for it and a bit of help haha. Loved the end result
Looks great drew!!!! I’m so happy you found a person to be with too
Hope you still make your monthly vids
Amazing job Drew! So happy for your new way of living life with a ''home base''. Looking forward to future videos and content creation.. As a long-time follower/viewer I can not express my excitement enough! So nice man and I'm happy on your behave!
Sincerely
Peter from Denmark!
So satisfying to watch cutting the wooden planks. Would love to see the new build in action on a trip.
Nice set up! I would recommend putting an insulated sleeve over the water hose on the 5 gallons container, inside the cab of the vehicle. It will prevent algae growth. Safe travels...
Another great video. Definitely giving me ideas for my Jeep or 4Runner or Forrester or Maverick or Element or… build soon to come. Can’t wait to explore the beauty the world has to offer.
Thanks for the inspiration,
A fellow wanderer
Fantastic Drew. One of the best campers I've seen. It is always a pleasure to watch your videos. You have been wonderful. As always thanks for the contribution. Kind regards from Malaga- Spain.
So satisfiying to watch, clean and attention to detail. Mr Perfectionist. Kudos
The end of an era.
Good work! fun to watch a build video like this after seeing the old version in use all those years.
Cool to watch all of your build's progress and change as you go. Love the snorkle!
It must feel so good to change it up. I know when I change around my house I feel so much better
He will rot out his floor of his jeep. It's supposed to breath. He's really stupid. You can't just start spraying sealant materials and laying down non breathable things on a whim. Especially inside a vehicle where moisture accumulates. It's not a truck bed, which breathes.
Also, he Installed a snorkel but now has no way to drain and clean his floor . This is a clown show. It's embarrassing.
Just getting better than ever. Congratulations drew. It just looks amazing.
I’m doing my first build on my 2003 Toyota Sequoia, I’m inspired! You make it look so easy😅 thanks for sharing 👍🏽
Awesome video Drew. Can’t wait to see what adventures you get into this year.
Hey Drew- my name is Erik and I’m a full time traveler - living out of a Teardrop Trailer. I was hugely inspired to hit the road, in part, by watching your videos. I darted over to Salt Lake City today, because it was advised to me to see Antelope Island before heading up to Idaho. As I was watching this video tonight, I heard you say you live here. If you’re around SLC today or tomorrow- and would love to meet a fan, I would be ecstatic/humbled/and honored to meet you.
New build looks great, looking forward to seeing it in use. I thought the old build was very clever and functional
Such a sweet build, bet you're gonna love that extra headroom in the bed 😀
WOW AWESOME! Been waiting for something like this!! Im wanting to do a DIY jeep build
The detail is awesome, One of the best build I’ve seen.
Your videos are such a delight to watch, missed seeing you! I’m learning how to make a great build, Thank you so much!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
This is so cool! Love everything about this video, the production and the build is so nice!
It’s so awesome to see this from your unfortunate break in to this. You’re awesome! Keep it going man, you’re truly an inspiration! Jks forever!
This was like a Gee Milner film except for Jeeps instead of bikes. Wonderful capture and attention to detail. Thanks for sharing.
Very nice build. I noticed a little space in the the trunk area. Perhaps a trap door under the pullout drawers to access the 'secret' compartment.
This is prolly the best videos I’ve been on building a draw system.
Such an awesome video! Very unique build! Can’t wait to see how it works out for you in future videos
Drew this is awesome! You've inspired me to start overlanding. Love it!
Props to you, Drew! This looks like quite the process
Hell yeah andrew! Can’t wait to see you guys and this thing in person! So sick.
Love your videos. And you put the grill and fridge on the tailgate side this time! I keep wondering why so few people do that? Can't wait for the tour video. I hope you explain the "why's" as much as you do the "what's."
Those hardtops are actually still for sale, but not under the Smittybilt brand anymore. I believe Patriot Fastbacks bought the design from them not too long ago.
If you look up “Patriot Fastbacks Adventure Top”, you’ll see that the Land Rover-style hardtops are still for sale for Jk’s and JkU’s. (And now even for the JL series).
However, they did a small redesign of the 4 door variant, probably to fix the infamous leaking issues they all originally had.
The formula for the 2 door variant however looks exactly the same and is unchanged from the Smittybilt version.
Planning to get one of those tops for my 2-door one day 🙏
Those alpine windows are absolutely gorgeous and remind me of my buddy’s old Kalahari D2. (Before it started chewing head gaskets for breakfast anyways)
Awesome video. Can’t wait to see where you take your Jeep for your new adventures. Looking forward to the next video.
Finally you got upgrade your gear and stuff. I can't wait to see more how it's gonna be on field.
Bravo Monsieur
Belles balades à vous et un grand merci pour vos vidéos splendides avec des paysages merveilleux !! Thanks
Can't wait to see the tour and more about this build!
The refresh looks good. Safe and happy travels!
Amazing! Lived in utah my whole life. If you ever want to go rock climbing let me know. Beautiful state and amazing people.
Amazing job, it was great to watch to entite process!
In the meantime, I am struggling to put together an IKEA tv stand 😂
I’m just starting to build my Jeep like yours!
Cause I’m following you from a year ago. And I want to live my life 🌲🏕⛰
Thanks for sharing the build process, it is so inspiring
Going to do the same type of build with my job soon. Thanks for detailed video and keep up the great work.
If them windows leak again talk to a windshield guy and use the same urethane they use. Great stuff.
awesome build cant wait to see it out in action
The build looks really good! Was wondering if you changed the bed setup so that you could have more room, I know that was a small issue before.
this is awesome, drew. thanks for the demonstration of the build.
👏🏼👍🏼looking forward to seeing that build in action out in the wilderness⛰🌲🍁🪵
Oh my gosh this is exactly what I’ve waited for!
Awsome craftsman ship, can't wait to get home from deployment and continue my TJ build.
really really really handy man, build a useful system with rich experience, without fancy 3D mechanical assistant software, COTS modular system. Awesome!
Great build Drew, some inspiration. Big up to your friends, Ayden n Chris. Inspiration from🇰🇪
I love the water tap mounted in the license plate holder.
The bed part look better then the last one
Wood worker or not, great job! The build looks great and it looks like you have some extra room. Can't wait to see it in action. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome video Drew! Can’t wait to see more!
Would love to see what you do if you ever decide to change it up with a new bigger jeep.
Excelente setup Drew!! Quiero ver su siguiente aventura con el nuevo cambio en tu Jeep. Saludos de Costa Rica Pura Vida 🇨🇷!! Nice new jeep setup. I want to see you next adventure with this changes. Greetings from Costa Rica my friend Pure Life!!
Absolutely beautiful set up. Enjoy!
Tankiyo for much
Looks amazing! I love the build!
Loved the level of detail of this build. When I had a Wrangler - I was super attracted to the Smitty Built hardtop, but read so many bad reviews. I totally thing w/ the big overlanding push, there would be a market for a better system that had a robust integrated rack system (that could be added), as well as fan/vent system, etc. Such a great idea - poorly executed.
Yay! So excited for this project! 🥰
Makes your heart skip when you drill into the Jeep! I modified my 2004 Rubicon, but held my breath with each drill bit! Great build!
So awesome!! So fun to watch!
The pressurized water has gotta be the coolest thing!!!
Banger like always, your videos never disappoint.
Good job mate. Simple yet functional.
Missed you man. Good to have you back ❤️
KILMAT will definitely help improve your acoustic inside and speaker performance
Hello Drew, long time. Its always great to watch your videos doesn't matter if its a beautiful nature or a jeep interior building, always loved the framing. I just had a small thought, you could have coloured the wooden ply (something black or dark brown) or use some rich quality wooden material or something, because right now it is looking little less perfect (not like your amazing, perfect work). Cant wait to see more....its always great pleasure to see your work. Keep posting. Thanks. Cheers.
Great video and build!! I stumble onto your channel and became an instant subscriber and fan. Great content, very inspiring! 👏 👏 👏
You gotta do what you got to do, change is inevitable being all grown up 🦕
Thank you so much for documenting this!
Made our day. Needed something inspiring and there you are!
Been awhile since I’ve been on your channel but I’m catching up now! Hope life is well. Crazy to hear you’ve transitioned from full time traveling. Excited to see the other videos I’ve missed!
Did the sound detonation work? Any reduced road noise?
We are happiest when we are building
I had never thought of Nutserts before, they stress me out but they look so practical!
Welcome back Drew
My fave RUclips channel at the mo.
Looks great man! I’m most curious about how well the sound insulation will work
cant wait to see you get back on the road!
