Sheldon: “Ah yes please buy my undercover umbrella, the main weapon is complete garbage, the special will get you killed mid use, and it has ink mine 😁”
And the "limited time" from the same description is a reference to that specific weapon being the 1983 version of the N-zap that had to be discontinued for looking too much like a real gun.
Similarly, the whole "stick it to them" with the Suction Bombs is just a pun on how they stick to surfaces, rather than talking about gameplay. It's funny seeing Chara take everything so literally that he misses some of the jokes and references.
Mostly unrelated, but on the topic of Sheldon's family, his grandfather, who worked with the original Squidbeak Splatoon, is called Ammoses Shellendorf. So like... is Sheldon's full name Sheldon Shellendorf?
8:52 Washing machines in Inkopolis most likely use regular ink! According to Sunken Scroll 7 of Splatoon 1, ink vanishes after every match. This property to disperse when exposed to oxygen after awhile, would make it extremely useful for getting unwanted gunk off pretty much anything!
That would explain why so many companies are happy for matches to be held on their property, and why you get paid for each match. You and the 7 other players are the cleaning crew!
I wonder if the Japanese versions would have better descriptions. The Splatoon localization team has been known to uh, _make some interesting creative liberties._

The Bloblobber description is an Arrested Development reference, in which Bob Loblaw is an attorney who has a blog (the Bob Loblaw law blog) and appeared in a newspaper under the headline "Bob Loblaw Lobs Law Bomb". I certainly wasn't expecting a reference like that when I went to buy it but it made me smile considering it was one of my favorite shows at the time.

I think the "Come to the aid of cornered allies with the splashdown special" implies that you are expected to super-splashdown with a super jump and punish jump campers, which is usually what I use splashdown for anyway.
The "memory lane" comment for the '83 is just due to the coloration being based on the original Famicom (Japanese name for the original NES, which was colored differently from international releases of the NES). I think the nonsensical use of the word "power" in these descriptions is simply due to how in a lot of entertainment media aimed at a young demographic usually uses the word in a nebulous way (think of how the Great Deku Tree in Zelda Ocarina of Time talks about his power when he's not portrayed as having any powers, same for Power Rangers in the early years of the TV show transforming not actually showing any powers that they didn't have in their civilian clothes). I have problems with the localization of Splatoon; adding ambiguity like with the D-pad shouts, being inconsistent with the words "Rank" & "Level" and making things more juvenile in tone (the Japanese version lacks furigana, the subscript that teaches pronunciation mostly for kids who don't know how to read Kanji, even though games like Zelda Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey have furigana for their Kanji), though one thing they stayed true to was that the original Japanese version is full of slang, as well.
I would honestly prefer the Kensa weapons to stay in Splatoon 2. They don't really fit the whole Chaos theme of Splatsville with their monochrome palette. If we do get branded weapons, I'd love to see Annaki weapons. I think they'd fit the theme well, but maybe I'm a bit biased considering Annaki is my favorite brand.
Been wondering for a long time what weapon they’d give an Annaki variant. Probably makes sense to give it to one of the new weapon classes for splat 3, but I feel like the brand would be a good fit for something up-close and personal. Some kind of roller or brush.

See when I played splatoon 1 back when I was legit a baby (6-7 years old) Sheldon was how I got good at the game and Made it to A rank for every rank except Rainmaker (B+) That said- I was still ass
A small idea I had for Splatoon 3 is that, since Sheldon was looking to hire 8 for Ammo Knights, the arms-dealer in S3 could be 8 herself, and instead of these long dialogues we could get a small poem (like the ones from the Octo Expansion mem cakes but a bit longer of course) that describes the weapon kit in a more brief, beautified fashion.
I'm pretty sure that in canon, the women are sought more for combat prowess, therefore why enemy Octolings in Hero Mode are only female. I just realized that Splatoon and Vtubing have something similar: both have canonically have females more powerful.
Hello again. It is me, the resident brush goblin. I’ll cut to the chase: My friends and I kinda suck at Splatoon. Mostly when it comes to league. I’d wager that I’m the only competitively competent one (and even then, that doesn’t mean that my friends suck at the game.) and I’m probably the most likely to use callouts, I just don’t because they would be confusing to my friends. So, with these problems, I bring some potential video ideas: - A list of all weapons and their role (Slayer, Skirmisher, Flex, Anchor, and Support.), their points-per-special, and their respective kill time (in best case scenarios, and also listing with and without MPU.) - A general guide to callouts and a list of some generally useful callouts. - A guide on how to build team compositions. (I have a feeling I forgot a video idea, but I don’t know what and that scares me.) As usual, don’t feel pressured to make these ASAP, if at all. At the end of the day, it’s you who decides what you make and post here. And for now, I’m going to finish this comment with some somewhat funny information: The exact same loving cat that is in my arms right now once sneezed into my milk one morning. Naturally I dumped it in the sink and poured more milk lmao. Take care, Chara.
A guide to team comps:ruclips.net/video/DbYvEEBq2Wk/видео.html everything else is at least somewhat planned already for Splatoon 3. ruclips.net/video/owy5-mVBwX8/видео.html Roles guide but its before I focused content, will be a remade version in s3.

Looking forward to what videos you make once the game is out. Hopefully I can end up getting into competitive with my friends in the 3rd game.
I always thought I should follow _some_ of what Sheldon suggests. 5:50 That’s actually how I often use my curling bombs…. I throw it at the enemy, and then they get stuck in the ink. I get pushed by an enemy curling bomb or stuck in the ink of one sometimes, too. It’s annoying. 6:09 Actually, yeah, I don’t just use curling bombs to trap opponents within ink but also use the trail to “close the distance”. Just to clarify. On an ending note, I did read everything just ‘cause I like reading….
At 5:45 curling bombs are mentioned as a way to pin down enemies really it sounds like originally the CRB may have featured auto bombs but was changed perhaps late into development and they forgot to change the pin the enemy down bit of text
3:38 im pretty the trip down memory lane is a refernce to how (im preety sure) thr n-zap is a refernce to the duck hunt zapper. so people who used to play with it back then will remember the duck hunt zapper. which is kinda funny cus i dont think anyone playing splatoon used the duck hunt zapper.
You know, this kind of got me thinking about how we could make beginners feel like, well, sticking around. We could always use more fans of the series to watch our tourneys, compete in different levels of play, and also, y’know, sell more games. I think it would be an interesting series to pull off. I can imagine it would be hell to develop and make thing simple enough to pitch to new potential players. But I do also think with things like Chuggaconroy doing their let’s play and Splatoon 3 just on the horizon, now might be a good time to pump out beginner resources for hooking new player into the series, with it’s unique style and unparalelled freshness, cool weapons and fun to use specials, it could strike an audience. Anyway, long winded comment over, thanks Chara!
5:45 What if curling bomb lines were uninkable until the bomb blows up? That would make curling bombs have a bit more potential. And no this definitely should not apply to curling bomb launcher edit: nvm double curling bomb would be a thing on rectangle maps and it would be horrible. Port and walleye would be unplayable
Sheldon did kinda help me explain what the slinger/archer weapons are about because I went in Splatoon 3 completely blind without watching any of the directs lol
I will defend the v52 description because it is indeed the first shooter you unlock that is actually not good at pre-firing because its fire rate leaves gaps, and leans more into precision weapon territory as a result. It's a really good training weapon because with no need to locate your opponent and no need to track for long you're left with focus on going for quick precise splats rather than hosing someone down like you can with Splattershot and Zap. 52 Deco assumes that you will use Stingray aggressively- not stay back and do it from a safe distance, but find the first cover you see when it charges and quickly ray that charger out of existence. It is stupid, but also thrilling, fun and satisfying when you pull it off. Chargers do envy the difference between what splatlings can achieve on a single charge vs what chargers can achieve on the same charge. That's why they hit them so hard. Remix doesn't say why it uses the old model, but pre-release materials say that both modern Heavy and Slosher are simplified compared to the old ones, so neither Sheldon's prototype model nor the limited edition Remix have to adhere to it. Fun part about Naut is that it actually did its jump RNG nerfed so that line is no longer relevant. vUndercover's special description references superjump Splashdowns, and I've seen some people who build Splashdown with lots of QSJ and learn to jump to the right teammates almost instantly with the D-pad. It is a meme but it is a thing.
N-Zap 83's comments on being produced for a short period reflect the ACTUAL production of NES Zappers. In '83, they were made gray, like in Splatoon. In '85 Nintendo started making them orange to better differentiate them from actual firearms, as was a concern in the US. Hence the comment, and the numbering. That's also why he says "trip down memory lane," as he's again referring to the actual peripheral.
that's where dynamo roller gets its name from. it has a dynamo motor in it. that also explains why it's so heavy and slow but also powerful. i feel like it should make a motor sound when it flicks or rolls kinda like how hydra has a motor noise. it think it would add to the weapon a lot.
the Nzap 85' when he says "stick it to the baddies" its a play on words. when people say "stick it to the man" they mean give whats coming to them. it's an expression.
They could probably get around the whole limited kensa Collab thing by saying they got them second hand in splat3, and for new kensa kits they could just say it's an "unreleased prototype"

But rollers can be good at painting, if one knows what they are doing . . . (yes, I speak from Experience)
@@JakoBpyroTech flingza can, dynamo in theory but it's inconsistent. Splat and carbon are a very different case. Their paint us not great, and if they do want to paint, they'd be exposing themselves a lot, as they need to take advantage of being sneaky to be as effective as possible
@@karlapinkie7697 Fair for the most part, especially if one uses rolling to paint, as that does leave you vulnerable, but I would still argue that the Splat roller, the one the Dialogue was about, is good at painting. (To be clear, I have used all the rollers)
3:36 The memory lane is to do with the NES Zapper in Duck Hunt which the N Zap is named after. Pretty neat.
See when I played splatoon 1 back when I was legit a baby (6-7 years old) Sheldon was how I got good at the game and Made it to A rank for every rank except Rainmaker (B+)
That said- I was still ass
A small idea I had for Splatoon 3 is that, since Sheldon was looking to hire 8 for Ammo Knights, the arms-dealer in S3 could be 8 herself, and instead of these long dialogues we could get a small poem (like the ones from the Octo Expansion mem cakes but a bit longer of course) that describes the weapon kit in a more brief, beautified fashion.
Canonically I'm pretty sure 8 is a guy, but I like the idea.
I'm pretty sure that in canon, the women are sought more for combat prowess, therefore why enemy Octolings in Hero Mode are only female.
I just realized that Splatoon and Vtubing have something similar: both have canonically have females more powerful.
3:24 For N-Zap 83 it could also be saying that Sheldon decided to bring back the idea of this legendary famicom-style zapper
So, with these problems, I bring some potential video ideas:
- A list of all weapons and their role (Slayer, Skirmisher, Flex, Anchor, and Support.), their points-per-special, and their respective kill time (in best case scenarios, and also listing with and without MPU.)
- A general guide to callouts and a list of some generally useful callouts.
- A guide on how to build team compositions.
(I have a feeling I forgot a video idea, but I don’t know what and that scares me.)
As usual, don’t feel pressured to make these ASAP, if at all.
A guide to team comps:ruclips.net/video/DbYvEEBq2Wk/видео.html
everything else is at least somewhat planned already for Splatoon 3.
ruclips.net/video/owy5-mVBwX8/видео.html Roles guide but its before I focused content, will be a remade version in s3.
@@ProChara Thanks!
Honestly, I kinda forget that the third game is coming out this summer.
Might ask if I can pre-order it once it’s available so I can play it as soon as it’s out (seeing as I’m still technically a minor, i can’t really order it myself lmao.)
Looking forward to what videos you make once the game is out. Hopefully I can end up getting into competitive with my friends in the 3rd game.
The N-ZAP '83 says a trip down memory land because it was an accessory for the NES
3:34 chara forgets that the nzap is based off of a real life nintendo peripheral
sheldon referencing a dif species and 12,000 years ago would still be odd to be fair.
At 5:45 curling bombs are mentioned as a way to pin down enemies really it sounds like originally the CRB may have featured auto bombs but was changed perhaps late into development and they forgot to change the pin the enemy down bit of text
3:45 he’s saying a trip down memory lane as in the Nintendo entertainment system’s zapper, would be nostalgic to people growing up in the 80’s
"Stick it to your enemies!" has got to be a play on the phrase "Stick it to them"
3:38 im pretty the trip down memory lane is a refernce to how (im preety sure) thr n-zap is a refernce to the duck hunt zapper. so people who used to play with it back then will remember the duck hunt zapper. which is kinda funny cus i dont think anyone playing splatoon used the duck hunt zapper.
I sat here for a second listening to the music until I thought
"...hang on, is that A CYBER'S WORLD? ?"
He did it... he actually did it...
This is why you read every single one.
In splatoon 1 I used to never skip Sheldon's dialog. I reset my progress 3 or 4 times for splatoon 1.
5:45 isn't this referencing the tactic of using curling bombs long lines of ink to cut off an opponents escape route?
I main the Aerospray MG it's "great power" in my opinion is it's ink coverage and the fact it can output specials like it's no tomorrow
I think “a trip down memory lane” is a fourth wall joke about it having famicom colors
11:56 this is probably about the fact that you can splashdown on superjump if you notice someone on the map is struggling
3:37 trip down memmory lane becaus the weapon was based of the game "duck hunt" a late 80s early 90 game.
I love how Splatoon constantly reminds people to take a bath
3:24 That's supposed to be a reference to the original NES Zapper, which was 'restored' by Sheldon.
It took this long to get a single human interested in his advice.
If we get Kensa Weapon in Splatoon 3, i bet it's gonna be 'This set of limited edition weapons finally makes it's great debut in Splatsville'
I don't play enough -
I can't visualize all this with just random footage accompanying it
The trip down memory lane on the N-ZAP is a reference to the nes gun it’s based on
at 3:14 I think "stick it to the baddies" was just a play on the saying "stick it to the man", emphasis on the "stick" part because suction bomb
3:43 it talks about the NES zapper you use for duck hunt.
For a trip down memory lane with the 83 he’s talking about the snes
5:45 What if curling bomb lines were uninkable until the bomb blows up? That would make curling bombs have a bit more potential. And no this definitely should not apply to curling bomb launcher
edit: nvm double curling bomb would be a thing on rectangle maps and it would be horrible.
I think "trip down memory lane" refers to the 1983 japanese famicom colour scheme that the weapon is based on 3:37
I literally mained the Naut in TC and never realized it didn't have air spread because I so rarely shot in the air.
Honestly I like Sheldon's descriptions like "triple burst" it makes him seem like an out of date guy who just wants to support the industry
i love ur vids! im currebtly binge watching to get my mind off of thr chancd of body and facial dismorphia and an ED
Well, a dynamo is a generator, so props for them including that little bit of info
the nzap 83 is a reference to the famicon ,as the 85 is based on the nintendo gun toy thing for the NES, and the 89 on the updated, legal, version
I actually feel bad for the people who kept mashing 'A' whenever Sheldon talked and they didn't see the 'Hurry it up!' button 🤣
Chara listening to Sheldon talk about every weapon
why would you do this to yourself?
3:12 I think that’s just an expression, “stick it to ‘em!”
3:35 I think it’s referring to the fact the N-ZAP is a reference to the old actual N-ZAP product!
11:57
Super jump splash down is what this is referring to
4:40
I mean, I guess you could argue that Ballpoint has multiple firing modes?
that's where dynamo roller gets its name from. it has a dynamo motor in it. that also explains why it's so heavy and slow but also powerful. i feel like it should make a motor sound when it flicks or rolls kinda like how hydra has a motor noise. it think it would add to the weapon a lot.
Fun fact: The hero slosher replica actually had a unique line, basically saying "Hey that blue suspension is pretty cool right"
3:37 Its because the N-Zap is the original NES Duck Hunt gun
3:43 “Trip down memory lane”
It’s means the original Nintendo Zapper
the Nzap 85' when he says "stick it to the baddies" its a play on words. when people say "stick it to the man" they mean give whats coming to them. it's an expression.
9:10 I wonder if that was a reference to Bob Loblaw's Law Blog
"There might be no Kensa Collection in Splatoon 3"
I'm definitely gonna miss my babies 😭 I love the Kensa roller and Octobrush too much
They could probably get around the whole limited kensa Collab thing by saying they got them second hand in splat3, and for new kensa kits they could just say it's an "unreleased prototype"
