Also yes there are a lot of kits in this video, this isn't a pattern for the whole series I promise but happened to apply here, mainly because since many of them depend on the kits and well dualies got very unlucky with it. I think playing to a good kit is integral for all the ones I gave new kits basically.

The new Dualie Squelcher kit is a reference to those custom weapon kits you made for Splatoon 2 like five years ago. Don't think you can hide it from me.
Splash wall would suck on Dousers, here’s why 1. Dousers are extremely ink hungry, and considering the fact that splash wall takes up more than half your ink tank, it wouldn’t be the best for it 2. Don’t even think about setting up a splash wall and then using turret mode, you’ll run out of ink so fast you won’t know what to do 3. A majority of the “sticky situations” a Dousers main ends up in is usually because they’ve run out of ink (which is why I run a shit ton of main saver). A splash wall can’t help you when you don’t have enough ink to set up the splash wall. 4. We already have an incompetent sub with a great special, we don’t need that again. My best sub suggestion would be burst bomb, as it would help with combos and paint, and it doesn’t take up that much ink. My more realistic one would be point sensor, because it doesn’t take up that much ink either, and is extremely useful for scoping out choke points and finding enemies to make them easier to hit. Other than that, great video =)
i think the solution to this would honestly be to buff its ink consumption in turret mode and rolls. its fine to take ink on the standard fire tbh, but the turret mode is its weakest aspect and for it to get that for like .5 seconds after starting it is very frustrating as someone who tried picking the weapon up (kit was not my fav personally lol)
Compromise between the two subs you mentioned, give it Autobomb. Not as powerful as Burst Bomb on a good main weapon, but still good and cheaper than Ink Mine or Wall. And it has the location abilities of Sensor, but not pigeonholing itself into *only* location. Plus, flushing someone out with Autobomb just to put them between two hard hitting AoE spots between the bomb and your following Inkstrikes would be very fun. Not to sound like Sheldon’s tips, but nowhere would be safe to stand with an Autobomb chasing you, Inkstrikes blocking off your escape routes, and the great range of the Douser Dualies allowing for constant pressure and chip damage.
I main dousers and think the best kits are ones that target enemies locations. It’s so helpful for me AND benefits my teammates too. But I’d love something like burst bomb to help with playing a little more aggressive at times/ help its paint!
I would consider GDualies the most well rounded Grizzco weapon. Like, most weapons have at least one boss they don't like to fight, but I can't think of one for GDualies hate fighting.
Something I would change for all dualies is to give them a window during there dodge roll where they can pass through a wave breaker. The class as a whole is disproportionately affected by this special and I believe it could cause balancing issues should wave breaker be buffed to be good. This gives the class a skill based way to deal with the special without having to do clunky jumps or tank the damage

Bonus points if the emotes that use your weapon changes depending on which mode you ended the game in.
Tbh I get enough variation in play from using the jump tech. Having to monitor my firing mode in fights while still having mediocre damage might just end me 😂 It's a cool buff but maybe one that would fit better for Douser dualies since it already plays around with dual firing modes.
Honestly just a good idea for a brand new dualie, like ngl if the sblast had a dualie mode instead of the admittedly braindead jump and pray mode, that would've slapped so hard
As a pretty diehard duilie player who uses the more passive duillie I love that squelcher kit what I like about squilcher, glooga(especially k glooga, which I loved to use seriously and to ruin the days of people in solo queue kelp some splat zones) and dowser is how fast and affectively they can swap from a more passive area denial/ support to aggro play style.
That Dapple kit is one I’ve been wanting for a while, and while I hope it’s something we’ll get in the future, with how Splat3 is going Dapples will either get screwed out of a 3rd kit or be cursed for the sixth time a terrible kit 😔
How are they overrated if the evidence for that is that they're very similar to shooters, but seen less often? Am I missing something? Am I stupid? Wouldn't that make them UNDERrated???
Personally, I don't agree with the kit you gave to Tetra. I think the weapon's main weakness it the fact that it's damage isn't the best for the role it plays. I feel like Fizzy, or Burst would be a better sub for it as it would give the weapon a source of chip damage and help it kill faster, and I'd actually give it Triple Splashdown as a special for the same reason, ofc I'd prefer Zip, but since it already has a kit with zip Splashdown would be my next choice. I think both specials synergize with the weapon really well anyway. Also, unrelated, but mad respect for all the Astral Chain music in this video. lol
I’m still a Wail Tetra fan personally, maybe with Mist or your Fizzy. A Tetra that can use its special to instantly end its dodge roll endlag and either relocate or do another roll chain for an Octoroll would be terrifying, and Fizzy would give it range and paint while Mist would maximize its efficiency in being able to single out a foe and assassinate them with ruthless speed by immobilizing them. Plus the Wail chip damage is nice for it. Essentially give Tetras the VBow kit, and hell, let’s give the Light kit to Tri-Stringer. A Sprinkler would be acceptable due to its lack of other paint and backline nature, and Zipcaster would be fun to get set up in more unique angles that it normally doesn’t get to utilize.
@@Growingcrazy8 Blasters are better than chargers tbh, Range Blaster exists but literally none of the chargers are good lmao EDIT: i forgor about pencil XD
that glooga buff is EXACTLY what I've wanted for the weapon. 48 damage would allow it to actually use jump-firing to approach fights like vdualie and DS often do. Also another thing you didn't mention in the video is that glooga actually already had this 2 shot combo with mpu in s2.
That Dousers kit, along with the painting buff, would be awesome, as would the Dualie Squelchers changes. I don't much like playing Dapples, but that kit . . . it looks pretty dang fun. (Would anyone complain about the current Dapples Nouveau kit getting it's Reefslider swapped for Kraken Royale, though?)
The biggest problem with dulies in splat 3 are the kits (like with dapple and tetra) or Nintendo being to scared off buffing the main weapon (dualie sqelcher) Anyways it’s awesome to see my fav weapon class get its own video 🎉
I think Dousers should actually have Inkjet. The roll locks you in, yes, but it also has a stupidly fast firerate. You will SHRED anyone trying to camp that jump with a full ink tank. Also, giving it wall just turns it into a diet Jet Squelcher imo. Instead, give it something cheaper like Sensor or Autobomb so it can track from a distance.
As a Dualie Squelchers main, I love these changes! DPS is awful, and our feel it most on rainmaker and HP specials. Falloff is really bad too, this definitely helps it a bit. Ink cost is high too, the 1% buff is small but definitely adds up with several rolls. And the fact that it’s a 4 shot weapon AND has huge shot spread makes killing with the weapon take so long. The smaller shot spread helps assure that good aim is better rewarded.
The squelchie changes are super good, auto/cooler was already one of my like top 3 kits for the weapon but honestly you mentioned a lot I didn’t even think of, this would be great, although it’s not my favorite possible kit for it… please Nintendo Auto/Rain please. I need S2 CDS back…
As big fan of the class I think that all these changes and Buffs would be good. Also yes,the splat dualies are probably in the shape they've ever been.
As someone who likes Tetra, giving it S2’s Enperry kit would be god like. Yeah there are other problems like cooler zombies outpacing it, but I think it’d be a fun kit.
I don’t mean to be rude, but PLEASE do not give tetras the Curling Bomb. They’re already one of the most mobile weapons in the game, and giving it curling, a bomb that cannot be used to poke chargers perched up, would be a horrible idea. Tetras NEED to be able to poke and have some kind of long-range option, and curling bomb is too limited and has no verticality. I’d personally give the tetras a Fizzy Bomb instead.
I’d say a Torpedo, it’s more unique of an option imo and it’s cool, plus getting the ability to locate would be nice for a weapon who excels at piling on one foe and obliterating them.
I am a Dualie Squelchers main and I loved using them when Splatoon 3 first released. Coming back years later, I find that they've fallen off a bit but I still love using them and even if I lose, I want to try and make them work.
I wish that the different dualie types had something in-game that told you what their different dodge rolls actually did to their shooting. Some of them get higher fire rate, some get increased range, Dousers get decreased range, some get more damage per shot, some (like Squelchers) only just get the crosshair merge to make shots more precise, and as someone who doesn't use dualies a ton, I find it hard to remember which does which. Some icons on the weapon equip screen to show which does what could be helpful, even if they don't show every small detail and quirk.
Me want booyah bomb and autobomb on dousers. This kit gives the weapon a cheap means of location(better than mine) and a much needed continuation special.
Dualies are such a cool weapon idea. Being able to DODGE ROLL? Are you kidding me? That's a wild idea! Also I can't believe I thought Reefslider was good when I used Tetras in Splatfest World Premier.😂
I main the Dualie Squelchers and the Dousers currently. I'm not sure how to feel about your buffs to Squelchers. They were good, but Dualie Squelchers are a support weapon, I don't think they should be buffed to make it into a more aggressive slayer. I think Chumps needs some buffs. Right now, it's just too easy to make it where your Chumps do, basically nothing. I think the Chumps' health should be 70 instead of 60, and there should be 14-15 Chumps instead of 12. It'll make it harder for the enemy team to make Chumps feel completely irrelevant. I don't agree with giving the Dousers the Zekofin kit. I think Splash Wall is way better on the Kelvins and that they should be given a different sub. I want Fizzy Bomb on it. And as long as the special is something good, I'm not too picky about what it gets. It already got Killer Wail, which is something I really wanted on Dualies. I also hate it when Dualies have the same special as another in their class. Feels like one always does the job way better than the other which takes away from the main weapon.
Honestly, I'm not too surprised that a lot of this video was 3rd kits. Since to me, that seems to be Nintendo's balancing philosophy with the class. Take the weapon class that probably has the most potential in the game (shooter-esque but with a mobility option) and balance it out by giving it meh kits.
One change I would like is to remove the object damage down. I think the reason it was added was to counter main power up in Splatoon 2, but damage is typically lower than shooters and there’s no reason to keep it IMO.
Torpedo + cooler is my ideal 3rd kit for Dualie Squelchers, but Autobomb would be good too. Anything that helps locate people would be strong on DS because your bullets are weak AND expensive, so every shot counts 😅
If I am going to be honest, I do not like the sub and special you picked for the Dousers' second kit. For splash wall, because dousers consumes so much ink, they would put you in pretty risky situations. Even with some of the abilities, it can only help out a little bit. I think the best sub that would really help is one that consumes less ink like burst bomb. As for the tripple inkstrike, while it's not that bad, I highly doubt that the developers will even provide the special to them. And since the dousers are a long-range weapon, most long-range weapons that we have seen carry ink vacuum, so I feel like that special would be perfect for them. Plus, it would have really great synergy. This is just my opinion.
I completely agree with Kraken on Dapples! Don’t get me wrong, Fizzy/Zooka would make me literally break down in tears of joy. But I was just talking to my friend about how Kraken would be a more realistic yet still synergistic choice. Since Dapples want to be behind enemy lines a lot, a special that can let you push in for free or stay in longer, would be more than appropriate.
Plus, would fit more for the aggressive style that Dapples can take, Zooka just doesn't work up close like Dapples really wants to be, tho if it did need some range, Inkjet is there too
I think it'd be cool if there was a dualie like in side order and the grizzco dualies and the dodge rolls did an attack. I think it would fit well if that was a feature of the douser dualies.
Years ago I remember watching a Splatoon 2 review/critique video where the reviewer said that Dualies were strictly better than Shooters just because of the dodge rolls, when in reality this is not the case at all, and seeing that many people would agree with this take it made me think that this class was overrated at the time. Some of that same thought process could have carried over to this game too.
3:41 how did you achieve the effect where you overlayed a video shaped like a circle over another video? I constantly run into a wall where I want to do that but dont know how to, so I always just have ugly rectangles or squares around me and i hate it
Can't speak for other editing programs but basically I just have two copies of the same video on different timeline layers, and for one of them I zoom it in and apply a fusion effect and outline a circle with a slight soft edge
For a third dapple kit I lowkey want fizzy bomb and ink storm. Like you said, fizzy can handle opponents at long range and I choose ink storm mostly just cuz I’d prefer to have a special I can use alongside dapples as a main weapon. It’s why I main vanilla dapples even though the kit is dongwater for the main lol
Personally, I like vDapple's kit, Tacticooler can be used to make a speedy weapon even speedier, as well as fit vDapple's more support kit (not to mention 170p), and Squid Beakon can also help your team and helps you get into the action faster, it also works well with Sub Power Up, as Beakon arguably has the best sub power up effect :)
I will never stop asking for turret mode on Squelchers to be given extra range. It’s insane to me that it’s the only dualie class (as far as I know, don’t know the dousers too well yet) to receive NO buff on turret mode except the accuracy. The kill time if you land all shots is exactly the same. So I thought, give it a different kind of buff, range, to make it really stand out given it’s the longest range dualies but not by much.
Recently tried out glooga deco and yeah it would be nice if it 2 shot combo’d with 1 dodge roll shot and one regular shot. Allowing to move sooner after a dodge roll (end lag) would be nice too so you aren’t locked in as long as you are
Have you made a Reefslider change video? If not here’s my idea: make a circle of explosion, kinda like triple splashdown, and it’s good to tell where the one shot is and the 70 damage is. Once the special is done, jump back to where it was activated kinda like inkjet and zipcaster. It would make it so you don’t die after using special. Biggest thing: buff the damage. In side order, the explosion and damage is crazy from the Overlorder, so just buff the explosion and damage and Reefslider would be pretty good
I would give Squelcher Torpedo and keep Tacticooler I think it would give it a way to always have it's own supporting teammate allowing you to be more aggressive and it's cheap
In my opinion dapples either need more range or to move faster. +5-10% base move speed or, +7-15+ range or, longer roll distance A GOOD kit is basically a requirement, I don't agree with it being considered a buff. Personally, I'd rather go faster. But since 0 of the shortest ranged shooters have ever shined like that in 3, it's clear we need to accept that the weapons simply don't function well enough to have any viability. A weapon being 'niche' is already the final of viability. Discount all these changes if we could get 4 rolls like tetra 💯👀🔥🔥❤️
Honestly, if i had the chance to choose a dualie squelchers set, it'd have to be auto bomb and tenta missiles... might be my splatoon 2 memory but I'm so used to it having that super and the gun itslef just feels off from how it was before
Honestly, I think the main problem with dualies is "why are you using a special action that holds you still and drains your ink tank for a "dodge" when you can just quickly go between run and swim form?" The shooters are actually *more* mobile this way, have consistent power and ink, *more* power and ink, often they have equal or better ink efficiency, and they both have more kits which leads to having better kits. Why take the weapon with so many downsides for one upside vs the other weapon that basically has no downsides?
I mean, not really. The Dualies playstyle is to be strong and always moving. This leaves the open. Weapons like Splatanas, Brushes, and Rollers take advantage of them really easily. I'm interested to see how you balance Dapples, because I have no idea as a Dualie main. Edit: Pain of Dapples Dualies continues. Nice kit, though. My problem with the Dapples' balance is that the main weapon feels not as strong, and the kits don't do much to help that. In top levels of play, the weapon doesn't feel as consistent.
Tbh I think Dualie Squelchers should one-shot, have perfect accuracy, and have the jump height buff from the high jump challenge, no bias here, they definitely weren't my first main weapon, nah I just really want to see them buffed is all!
I dunno, I still think the splat dualies need a third kit. like yeah vdualies have a good kit and are viable, but crab especially lends itself to playing more passively, especially in the absence of tacticooler like in soloq a lot of the time. and yeah enperries have that more aggressive kit, but it's not a good kit, especially once you're high enough up the ladder that people can snipe you out of splashdowns. I think something with inkjet (burst bomb is my pick but at this point I'll take whatever) would be really great as a more aggressive kit that is actually good since inkjet tends to be best when used from up close

"overrated class"
Me: the chargers
The blasters
@@Growingcrazy8 Blasters are better than chargers tbh, Range Blaster exists but literally none of the chargers are good lmao
EDIT: i forgor about pencil XD
I was actually thinking the same thing.
blaster
crazy how pencil has been the best weapon in the game and they’re still “overrated”
Nintendo must just hate the dapple dualies because why has my main never had a good kit in 7 years
5 for 5 brother
5 for 5
either the kits have great synergy but suck in general (clear and 3 noveau) or its a good kit with absolutely no synergy and ways to play aggressively
Probably some salty dev high up the chain got pubstomped by a Dapp
that glooga buff is EXACTLY what I've wanted for the weapon. 48 damage would allow it to actually use jump-firing to approach fights like vdualie and DS often do. Also another thing you didn't mention in the video is that glooga actually already had this 2 shot combo with mpu in s2.
OUTER WILDS 2:38 LETS GOOOOOOOO
That Dousers kit, along with the painting buff, would be awesome, as would the Dualie Squelchers changes.
I don't much like playing Dapples, but that kit . . . it looks pretty dang fun. (Would anyone complain about the current Dapples Nouveau kit getting it's Reefslider swapped for Kraken Royale, though?)
Nope because Reefslider sucks
A paint buff and strikes...
It's as if Nsplash didnt spam enough strikes already
The biggest problem with dulies in splat 3 are the kits (like with dapple and tetra) or Nintendo being to scared off buffing the main weapon (dualie sqelcher)
Anyways it’s awesome to see my fav weapon class get its own video 🎉
I think Dousers should actually have Inkjet. The roll locks you in, yes, but it also has a stupidly fast firerate.
You will SHRED anyone trying to camp that jump with a full ink tank.
Also, giving it wall just turns it into a diet Jet Squelcher imo.
Instead, give it something cheaper like Sensor or Autobomb so it can track from a distance.
The Dualie Squlcher kit would be a dream. I’ve been think for a while that Cooler would work so well with it
Manifesting a third DS kit with cooler 🙏🏽
every time you showed the modded gameplay from wyguy i was like “that’s my moot!!!!”
Imagine how much better wave breaker, the seemingly intended dualie counter, would be if they actually let more than a single dualie be insanely good
5:05 i was the octo brush
As a Dualie Squelchers main, I love these changes! DPS is awful, and our feel it most on rainmaker and HP specials. Falloff is really bad too, this definitely helps it a bit. Ink cost is high too, the 1% buff is small but definitely adds up with several rolls. And the fact that it’s a 4 shot weapon AND has huge shot spread makes killing with the weapon take so long. The smaller shot spread helps assure that good aim is better rewarded.
OUTER WILDS MENTIONED RAHHHH
The squelchie changes are super good, auto/cooler was already one of my like top 3 kits for the weapon but honestly you mentioned a lot I didn’t even think of, this would be great, although it’s not my favorite possible kit for it… please Nintendo Auto/Rain please. I need S2 CDS back…
The tacticooler squelchers would be perfect for me and my friends it's a need at this point
As big fan of the class I think that all these changes and Buffs would be good. Also yes,the splat dualies are probably in the shape they've ever been.
And yet the bamboozler lies as what... Non-existent? Bamboozler is iconic
As someone who likes Tetra, giving it S2’s Enperry kit would be god like. Yeah there are other problems like cooler zombies outpacing it, but I think it’d be a fun kit.
I want that Dapple kit almost as much as I want my dream Dynamo kit.
Translation:
I hate dualies!
They wont stop squidbaggin me!
2:37 OUTER WILDS SPOTTED PLAY OUTER WILDS HIT VIDEO GAME OUTER WILDS
Devs really fumbled with the Zipcaster tetra kit, now I really want the Inkjet one
Me want booyah bomb and autobomb on dousers. This kit gives the weapon a cheap means of location(better than mine) and a much needed continuation special.
Whoa chara made a vids where the kits aren’t just fizzy and torpedo? W Video i especially like the douser Dualies kit
I've thought that kraken would be amazing on dapple for a while now I'm glad to see you agree
Dualies are such a cool weapon idea. Being able to DODGE ROLL? Are you kidding me? That's a wild idea! Also I can't believe I thought Reefslider was good when I used Tetras in Splatfest World Premier.😂
The outerwilds reference was funny
6:54 douser-chan
what have you done
THANK YOU FOR THE GLOOGA BUFF I HAD THE EXACT SAME IDEA
2:53 Dualie Squelchers' rolls already consume 8% per roll. I'm not sure if this was a mistake or not but this wouldn't change anything for the weapon.
That's exactly what they've done 😭
The comments ARE BURNING FIRE RAPIDLY GOING FOR CHARA'S OPINION 😭😭😭😭
2:36 Outer Wilds spotted
Thanks for rebalancing my favourite weapon class coincidentally on my birthday Chara!
You should make a pole for everyone to pick Frye for final fest no matter what to give her a win
Frye pole
We need to get Frye to win final fest
@@DRUKKAZ if her options good
Nah no matter what
One change I would like is to remove the object damage down. I think the reason it was added was to counter main power up in Splatoon 2, but damage is typically lower than shooters and there’s no reason to keep it IMO.
Torpedo + cooler is my ideal 3rd kit for Dualie Squelchers, but Autobomb would be good too.
Anything that helps locate people would be strong on DS because your bullets are weak AND expensive, so every shot counts 😅
tetra with inkjet would make me forgive them for Enperry's not getting inkjet
Me when Dualies are my favorite class:
I love the douser kit now is one of my favourites
As a dapple main, if they dont give us trizooka and instead give us kraken, YOU WILL BE BLAMED
Plus, would fit more for the aggressive style that Dapples can take, Zooka just doesn't work up close like Dapples really wants to be, tho if it did need some range, Inkjet is there too
22 seconds ago? That’s crazy
1 min
This is what I’ve needed for a while I main Dapple Nouveau 😅
The dapple set is my dream kit
I think it'd be cool if there was a dualie like in side order and the grizzco dualies and the dodge rolls did an attack. I think it would fit well if that was a feature of the douser dualies.
Years ago I remember watching a Splatoon 2 review/critique video where the reviewer said that Dualies were strictly better than Shooters just because of the dodge rolls, when in reality this is not the case at all, and seeing that many people would agree with this take it made me think that this class was overrated at the time. Some of that same thought process could have carried over to this game too.
video 99 of commenting on charas videos til crb releases
Let dapples cancel the end lag of the roll with a jump/squid roll/swim 🗣️🗣️🗣️
They are for sure gonna give douser dualies inkjet.
huh, interesting douser dualies kit. i would personally put fizzy (all-purpose bomb) and inkstorm (healing + chip damage)
If dapples get fizzy/kraken I am gonna come over and eat all your hair tentacles
Yeah DS is the only dualie that gets no perks in turret mode except accuracy. The rest all get some variation in firing rate, damage, etc.
I’d definitely use that 3DS (3rd Dualie Squelcher) kit
Recently tried out glooga deco and yeah it would be nice if it 2 shot combo’d with 1 dodge roll shot and one regular shot. Allowing to move sooner after a dodge roll (end lag) would be nice too so you aren’t locked in as long as you are
Hoow Tenacity can be balanced to be useable ?
I would give dapple an entire extra dodge roll and make it’s dodge rolls 20% longer
In side order, the explosion and damage is crazy from the Overlorder, so just buff the explosion and damage and Reefslider would be pretty good
We need Splatlings next
I would give Squelcher Torpedo and keep Tacticooler I think it would give it a way to always have it's own supporting teammate allowing you to be more aggressive and it's cheap
I need fizzy kraken on the splatana stamper for it's third kit too as well as the dapple dualies
Ever since tacticooler buffs I have been wishing dualie squelchers gets it. It’s my main and they would combo stupid good
Please don’t talk about putting Tacticooler on Dualie Squelchers! I’ve wanted Autobomb for some time tho and I’m glad someone else has the idea.
In my opinion dapples either need more range or to move faster.
+5-10% base move speed or,
+7-15+ range or, longer roll distance
A GOOD kit is basically a requirement, I don't agree with it being considered a buff.
JUSTICE FOR TETRAS YEAHHHHH
I NEVER CLICK A VIDEO SO FAST IN MY LIFE
I mean, not really.
EVERYONE WAKE UP HE IS FINALLY MAKING ANOTHER "RE BALANCING SPLATOON 3" WE MADE IT GUYS WE MADE IT!
Tbh I think Dualie Squelchers should one-shot, have perfect accuracy, and have the jump height buff from the high jump challenge, no bias here, they definitely weren't my first main weapon, nah I just really want to see them buffed is all!
Bro literally said screw it and gave tetras the S2 enpery kit
I dunno, I still think the splat dualies need a third kit. like yeah vdualies have a good kit and are viable, but crab especially lends itself to playing more passively, especially in the absence of tacticooler like in soloq a lot of the time. and yeah enperries have that more aggressive kit, but it's not a good kit, especially once you're high enough up the ladder that people can snipe you out of splashdowns. I think something with inkjet (burst bomb is my pick but at this point I'll take whatever) would be really great as a more aggressive kit that is actually good since inkjet tends to be best when used from up close
