- The Defender isn't new but I'm happy to finally get my hands on one. The 90 is the smallest of the bunch making it better off-road than the Longer 110 or 130.
Price as tested: $ 96,470 CAD

I have the 2021 P400 X 90, wireless AirPlay is now made available (over the air update) and mine came with adaptive cruise control, either a spec issue or a chip shortage issue 🤷♂️ Agree re the pack options, everything you add potentially results in additional wind noise, so best to really consider your needs. I went for a set of black Thule bars - still have a roof rack when needed, less noise and easy to remove/add. 🤓👍
Nice video. I have a 2022 D90 P400 and my AirPlay works via Wi-Fi no cable needed. Maybe missing a setting or something. The D90 is the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. It’s a great all round vehicle and does everything well. There is actually a sport mode as well at least on mine. You just pull the shifter to the left to engage sport mode. Pro tip, the vehicle is equipped with lane assist and adaptive cruise, you just need to buy and swap out the cruise control button pod on the steering wheel that has those buttons and it should work. The hardware is there. I agree with you 100% it does everything well and looks the part when you need it too whether you want to be classy or out off-roading. Base MSRP is going up for 2023 as well so resale and trade value will remain high for a while. I think in the future the D90 will hold its value better than the D110. There are less of them out there and they just look like the perfect blend between old and new.
That’s good to know! As for the sport mode, that’s putting the transmission into sport mode but not the vehicle. So it doesn’t change throttle mapping or suspension like the off road modes.
How has the 90 been for you? Any issues?
@@jfoxindy Still love it and it’s still running great. Zero issues or lights so far and couldn’t be happier. I have 28k miles on it now.
@@Brandon_Rivera Great to hear. Considering a 2023.5 90. Reliability has me slightly concerned.
@@jfoxindy I totally get it and think it’s hit or miss with Land Rover. I have had very minimal issues with my last 3 Land Rovers. That’s just been my experience. I can’t speak for others. It’s certainly kind of a vibe and community thing. Sorta like a jeep lifestyle is. In a way you are buying into that as well. I have been happy this far with my Land Rover experience. Only thing I would caution on is maintenance and service expenses after warranty and free oil changes run out. My last oil change on my Defender at the dealer was $448.00 which is absurd. I did myself in 30 mins buying the pump and genuine parts and materials for just over $200. Since I have the pump now it’s should only run me about $100-120 going forward. Maintenance is needed and part of the fun for me is learning how to do a lot of it myself.
90% of the video is showing you, not the cars you test. Really?
If you slide the shifter over to S in manual mode that is sport mode 🤦♂️ “S”
That changes the algorithm for the transmission but does not change the suspension or other characteristics within the ECU like the stability program or where the power is sent.
