    YESSSSSS! This is the perfect hack, and super timely as the weather gets better and we're all heading out for outdoor classes. Hadn't thought to use my Rode wireless go straight into a speaker. Genius, thanks!

    For everyone having problems with low volume, you need to adjust the microphone sensitivity on the receiver. Just press the small button with db written next to it. If you use full sensitivity you don't need to have the mike in your mouth. Hope this helps!

    I enjoyed your video, but I was surprised that you could connect the Rode directly to the Bose speaker. I thought that one needed a preamplifier to do this successfully. I can't wait to try it with my Bose unit. Thanks for the excellent video.

      Yup! Just directly connect with the SC5 cable that the Rode Wireless Go comes with. Easy!

      @@AshleyHagen I bought this mic system to connect to my portable speaker, but my voice cannot be heard with the transmitter clipped to my shirt collar unless I put my chin down to aim my voice directly at the mic. Obviously I cannot teach with my head down. How can I fix this problem? Changing the gain and speaker volume levels doesn’t help.

    This is awesome Ashley. I was frustrated searching all over for info on how to connect my wireless portable mic to a Bose speaker and Yayy, found you. Question. How is that the voice was so clear also on your phone recording? I would assume the phone just picks up the sound from the Bose but sounds super clear. I do my classes via Zoom on my laptop so my laptop will be my camera source.

      I have two microphones the Rode Wireless Go original and the II. I was using the original as I showed the II.

      No. You'd need two speakers.

    I wish I found this video sooner! I'm trying a similar setup, and I find that I basically have to hold the Rode mic directly in front of my mouth in order to hear anything coming from the speaker. This isn't really practical, and it sometimes causes feedback. Did you encounter this issue?

    Hi Ashley, I connected exactly as you mentioned. Yet the volume is very low. Is there maybe an adaptor or something that you would recommend to use? I literally had to talk in the microphone and my voice can be barely heard. I have a Rose Wireless and a speaker of 10W as power. thank you

      This I do not know for certain. I've heard others say this, too. You do have to turn the volume of the speaker all the way up, and also set the db to the highest on the rode wireless go. Do this just to test the volume. I don't know another options or adapters. If your speaker is super small, that could be the issue, too.

    Hi Ashley, you may have answered this; I apologize if you have. Say I want to teach via zoom or create a yoga video outside. How would using a wireless mic differ for that context. Also, I live by a brook and have taken tried to do a live Facebook video with my data switched on and it lost connection. Why would this be? I am assuming it was because I was in a "dead spot". I really would love to conduct a video or live session by the brook; do you have any suggestions (in addition to my question above) to how I could do this in a dead zone for internet? Thank you so much for your tech videos!! I am very grateful!

      I mean, it really depends on how far people are spaced apart. It was easy to here from quite a ways away. I was very impressed. And if people are wayyyy in the back, they have others in the class to follow. Those harder of hearing should be more up front or near the speaker.

      I’d like to know the answer to this question too(before I purchase the Lavalier mic set). I have that same old Bose color sound link speaker. I’d like to amplify my voice and play music simultaneously from the same speaker. This generation of that speaker doesn’t seem to do two connections well.

    On the receiver, are you plugging the speaker into the headphone 3.5mm out or are you plugging it into the OUT 3.5mm jack? Thanks

    Ashley thanks this was amazing! What were you using for video?! I noticed it was zooming back and in. Was that w a friend? Or did you have some special video camera?
    Also as you’re teaching the audio was loud... so others in the park could hear as well? That’s a good thing for more students but I was just curious

      My iPhone 12. And yes, I had someone else filming. No, it's really not too loud. The whole park would not be able to hear. You can also turn it down if you do find it to be excessive. Either on the microphone or the speaker.

      @@AshleyHagen Hi Ashley, I understand you say that you could hear your voice from the speaker in the park. However, when I do exactly what you do with the cables required etc. I can not hear my voice! It works only if I am recording via Zoom on phone, then on the videos I can hear my voice. I really need teaching in-person live classes face-to-face, no need a phone, no PC, no recording but that my voice is louder outdoors and no matter how many people I have in front they can hear me thanks to Rode mic and speaker connected. Please advise me, I am spending a lot of time watching videos and trying. Something seems wrong. Thank you so much!

      Not on the same speaker. You'd have to use a separate speaker.

    Hi! I bought these materials but it is not working for me. My rode wireless mic goes into the speaker and I could see the transmitter is working. But, how do I actually get my voice to come out of the speakers?

    How did you record your voice into your camera? was the rode able to plug into the speaker and then somehow plug into your camera to mic the audio there for your video? can you tell me how i would do that on an iphone please

      I have two microphones. The Rode Wireless Go and the Rode Wireless Go II. I was using one of them while talking to the camera directly and showing off the other one. And when I did the demo with the speaker, I didn't not have anything connected directly to the camera/phone. You cannot use the mic into a speaker and an iphone at the same time.

    This is a really helpful video, thank you, Ashley! I'm trying to pair my new Rode Wireless GO II with a portable Ortizan bluetooth speaker for an outdoor event but am not having any luck. (I'm using the red cable that came with the GO II). Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot from your past experience? Thanks again for your great content!

      Hmm... turn the volumes all the way up. Make sure AUX is on, not bluetooth. It's actually really difficult to hear it yourself if it's working since you'd heart it simultaneously to you talking. Put it up close to your ear or test it with someone else.

    do you think is it possible to record the outdoor class as well as provide amplified speaker?

      You could try. You'd likely need separate microphones. One for amplifying your voice, and one for recording. Unless your speaker is close to your recording and it captures sound well enough. You'd have to test it.

    How do you turn the volume up on the microphone? I ordered these based off your helpful videos for outdoor yoga classes, but the devices didn't come with any instructions.

      On the bottom of the receiver there is a button to change the volume to low, medium or high. It is reflected on the screen in how much the triangle in the middle is filled in.

      Me personally, I wouldn't. I don't like dealing with music in outdoor yoga. But you could do this using two bluetooth speakers. You can't use one speaker for both functions.

    Hi, Ashley - I’m teaching outdoor at a local park on Saturdays in September, and I have a RODE mic. However, when I met with the IT guy yesterday to test it out with his speaker, there was no sound coming from the speaker. Everything was on and working. I’ve googled but can’t seem to figure out why my voice wasn’t coming through the speaker. Any troubleshooting tips for me?
    The IT guy has a headset I can use, but I was excited about using my RODE. I got it late in 2021 and just haven’t used it yet.

      @@AshleyHagen Thanks -- I appreciate it. I'll just contact the RODE customer support. Everything is working except the sound isn't coming through the speaker. It might just be that I need a different cord than the one in the box to connect with a speaker instead of a laptop or camera.

By then, I need to find a solution. And maybe should buy other mic and speaker, and amplifier, that's a shame. Otherwise, Rode with speaker work perfectly for online teaching through Zoom.       What do you mean? You cannot play music from the speaker and use the microphone at the same time. One or the other.

      @@AshleyHagen I think I was trying to figure out a different situation. Connected to a phone using the speaker on bluetooth while using the Rode mic on aux or USB. But I'm not sure if the phone lets me select the mic separate from the speaker in all apps. Maybe Zoom. With a headphone splitter I could probably get the phone to think that the speaker and the mic are the same device and have both.

      @@AshleyHagen also I have a yoga instructor friend who conducts outdoor classes, but the ambient noise can be quite distracting. So, he came up with a great solution where the students wear headphones, and he uses a microphone. This way, when he speaks, they can hear him clearly through the headphones, without any interference from external sounds. I think it's a fantastic idea and could be very beneficial, even better than using a loudspeaker.
      Unfortunately, the company "Rod" does not support a single transmitter with multiple receivers for this purpose. However, I found other companies that do support this technology just you writing in google wireless tour guide system You will find it I don't practice yoga, but I love it.       $200 for the base original model. For what I've earned using it, the price is actually quite affordable. But when you're just started out, it can look like a big amount. I'd consider it an investment rather than a big expense. It helps the video quality and teaching ability.

      @@AshleyHagen absolutely an investment I’m teaching at the park and my students have asked for better audio. I’m still offering donation based classes but I’m definitely sold on Rhode
