Thank you for great tips! Really useful. Teaching outdoor is always unpredictable experience for me. Once there was unexpectedly about 100 people and I lost my voice after shouting on them, secondly I stepped on a bee by mistake during walking around students, another time there was huge storm from nowhere, haha. You never know, but I am looking foward to use your tips this year to be more prepared :)
Oh no! 100 people?! Wow! And a bee? I hope this year goes much more smoothly. Definitely have people pre-register if you can. Or set a limit. Or get a speaker with a mic. And wear shoes. 😅😊
yes this is some good stuff! Back when I was a baby teacher, I did park yoga classes; definitely had to work out kinks and I think you hit all the major points in this video!
I just created a demo video with my speaker to see if it actually worked as I mentioned. Hint: It does. But I'm having trouble editing and uploading. My computer isn't being friendly. I'm coming back to it later and it'll be posted sometime next week.
You are one of a kind Ashley. This info is seriously so helpful. You're so informative, a born teacher. You're amazing... thank you so much. So glad I found your videos!!!!
Great tips and information!! I taught outdoors last summer and can't wait to again this year! (my state was ridiculously lax with social distancing requirements last summer, so we were able to gather regardless, I just felt outdoors was safer). Will definitely be using my Rode Wireless Go this year, that was quite difficult last year without a mic (just with road noise and wind). My city wasn't clear with what they allowed and gave me the runaround for weeks about holding a class in the park. Ultimately found a student who offered up her backyard for us! I was able to add her and her partner as additional insured to my teaching insurance, which was an added peace of mind for all of us involved!
That's great that you eventually found a space. My city just says "if no one else is using the space, go ahead." At least that was the impression I got. So I'll keep doing yoga in small groups. By no means do I need a space for 50-100.
Thank you Ashley! So helpful ~ taught outdoor yoga last summer & planning to this summer 2021. Not sure on the wearing masks situation requirement from my town. The speaker will be so helpful, especially if I must keep a mask on while teaching even though outside. Thanks for all of your great videos & information.
You're welcome! I wonder about the mask situation. If you do have to wear a mask, definitely having a microphone with a speaker will help so you aren't muffled or hard to hear.
This is so helpful. Everything covered. Building a network to go outdoors could be useful. I live in a town that's different from people who come to my online classes! Nin

Online, in studio and outdoors are all going to bring in a slightly different audience. Some overlap, but not a lot.
Thank you for the great information. What is a good liability waiver?
