    EDIT: At 5:09 I did the math wrong to calculate fuel expense. I should've divided 387 miles by the 6 MPG and then multiply that value by the average diesel price. Again, the math was wrong but the concept still stands.

    • @deesee5545
      @deesee5545 3 года назад

      I did the exact same thing lol forgot to divide at first. Thought of applying Californias crazy fuel prices to texas to see what comes up.

    Thanks brother for doing this video I’m an independent op and I’m working in North East area I noticed that loads got less miles paying better like $5dollars per mile loads with 600 miles paying $2,50 per mile it’s look good but I used more fuel, so I rather do shorter loads I love it, thanks brother

    More Finance vids would be cool. Owner ops and future Owner ops could benefit off learning the numbers. Finance is the pillar of business

    When I first looked at that math computation...I thought...man this is a really brutal business to be in. But couple seconds went by, and my eyebrow starting rising. Then I realized something's wrong here. Thanks for catching the mistake and pointing it out. BTW...love the great materials you are posting...so a big Thanks for your efforts !!!

    Dude, you are seriously helpful. I have not driven a mile but i am considering driving Sprinters seems like a low cost entry into the business to try it. Thank for you vids, rarely is youtube this honest and helpful.

    • @Gill22
      @Gill22  3 года назад +2

      That means a lot honestly! I don’t like wasting other people’s time and giving very general “advice” that doesn’t help anyone. The ethos of this channel is to be the opposite of that

  • @MerakiDispatch
    @MerakiDispatch 4 месяца назад

    wasting time is the most valuable cost, cause your life consist from time, empty stop time is also very important issue i think. Hello from Uzbekistan!

    • @Gill22

      That made my day brother! I want all truckers to succeed in this industry and a lot of people try to hide all the “secrets” or give very basic advice, but I’m hoping to change that with my channel!

    • @rosariorosario8703

      You are right. Knowledge is key. As a driver, I have met or heard drivers not wanting to share the “good brokers” or “good loads “ or “good customers “. But in reality there is so much to move. Thanks for sharing this knowledge and now it’s up to us use it.

    Hello Gill22, I'm new to the industry to your videos have been extremely helpful and include information that other videos don't have. I would like to see videos on how to get high paying loads and also on the best way to find dedicated routes for my business. That would be helpful to me. Also, a video on the negotiation verbiage would be useful as well.
    Thanks so much.

    My first question, what happens in detail when you are a driving for a company doing regional trips lets say they give you a 500 miles drop how long does the company gives you to get there and do you have to sleep on that truck or can you sleep in a hotel how those that work exactly or the reason for you sleeping in the truck is to Protect the load, is that it.
    My second question, what happened when you get to the location and drop your load do you always come back with another load or sometimes you come without load.
    My third question, does the company provide you with GPS system or what other devices or Equipment they gave you and how does the weight station works what happen on those station in detail

      2) This was one of my first times making a video so I definitely didn’t consider zooming in. Moving forward I can improve the editing and fix my mistakes!

    How do you handle shady and lying brokers? How do you handle double brokered loads?

    • @Gill22
      @Gill22  3 года назад

      It’s just a cost of doing business when you’re starting out. A lot of brokers are great but the ones that scheme and lie quickly run out of carriers to work with.
