The first shipper I got on my own was when a broker wouldn't pay me for a load I did. I approached the shipper for payment, found out they weren't happy either and started working directly with them.
But then the bastard brokers have those do not compete contracts they should be banned
@@royalcrowntowing2464compete anyways. What are they going to do, sue you? LOL They cheat customers, receivers and truckers left and right and so it's no use trying to be ethical with them.
i am own operator please contact me
@@royalcrowntowing2464 solicit anyways. They likely won't do anything.
I’m a shipper, i love owner ops that want to make money without the middleman. I need brokers, but i book all the owner ops first then the brokers get the scraps.
Hi I am owner operated & I would like to contact you thanks
Im a owner op. Any work?
Most days yes@@kingzoor2279
Owner/operator. I have 3 trucks in fleet. How do we contact you?
Hello anything out of Michigan I can dedicate 35 trucks they all are 53ft dry van
I been in trucking for 6 years and this guy is great. He knows exactly what he is talking about and I actually use his strategies in some of my own approaches.
I am a new woman/minority owned company. I am truly grateful I found your channel before I bought a truck or started to go after customers. I am binge watching your videos. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Meeting with a direct shipper tomorrow. Started off with a phone call. They asked for me to come in. Will be my first opportunity to get a direct shipper🤞🏿
How did it go?
@@ericrudni9809 Good thanks! I've done 3 jobs for them so far.
What trucks do you have?
Just one cargo at the moment
@@itzdwalk2u how did you go about the talk with the shipper? how to convince them
This is great content. ONE thing carriers need to know and remember which wasn't addressed is some shippers require you to have your own equipment meaning truck and trailer. I find a lot more direct shippers want you to have your own trailer that they can load their product onto. So you need to know if shipper has their own trailers or if you have to provide trailers for them. That would be part of the leverage he spoke of in this video. Know what they need and provide the impeccable service 😊
YES in fact having trailers to give them is more valuable to a shipper most times than a truck
Thanks for adding that in!
Well said
What a super video condensing the core points of selling one's service! Trucking or whatever. A great foundation approach to build on.
Major keys bro. The learning never stops . Thank you 🔥💯🏁
Solid video man, I’ve been in sales for 15+ years and to this day cold calling is never comfortable. You learn to push past the objectives and you get better over time. 👍🏽
You are DA MAN Gil..Thank you and you are very appreciated and I believe I speak for everyone. Stay blessed my brother 🙏 💯
Good stuff brother!!! Thank you for sharing everything. Your methods are solid and if people will follow through; this stuff actually works and is quite rewarding!!!
Great advice for those who are serious about their business. Going directly to the source is always better.
I'm a broker and I have always wondered why carriers don't reach out to the shippers directly off the load confirmations we send. Now i'm looking at into partnering up with a carrier to grow both sides of my business.
There’s usually clauses in there that LEGALLY restrict carriers from reaching out to the shipper for years. However, i’m not sure how they’ll hold up in court and how many brokers actually go after carriers for soliciting those shippers.
Also, the biggest problem is that carriers are not salespeople. They suck at sales. They don’t know the first step to contacting shippers. Hopefully I can help them out through my videos and my methodology.
@@Gill22 Our agreement with carriers is 12 months. But if you've been doing it long enough its a non issue. Just dont shit were you eat if you get my point.
As far as I'm concerned, a non-compete would only be enforceable to trucking companies that ALSO have a brokers authority. But that non-compete wouldn't work vs. a standalone trucking company. It's not even the same part of the industry, lol
That would be like making a substitute teacher sign a non-compete with a school district chairman. Yes, they're technically a part of the same industry, but their jobs are VERY different
What lanes?
Well Mr. Broker- once we agree on the load, I the Truck Company, have "NO EARTHLY IDEA" as to who the Shipper and Consignee are until after the fact! By then it is too late to cancel the load (per rate confirmation) without being hit with penalties including having my/our dot/mc numbers added to the do not book loads with listing.
I've always said that the broker could and should at minimum post the
1. CORRECT WEIGHT
2. CORRECT PICK/ DELIVERY CITY
3. give the name of customer(s) pick & delivery
4. POST THE ACTUAL AMOUNT THAT THE LOAD WAS PAID (this is the law but these sorry no good brokers do not do this)!
I myself will not haul certain customers freight as these treat drivers like dirty stained shizt!
Many drivers feel the same, but we have no code.
Until the owner ops/ companies using the bottom of the barrel load boards "JUST SAY NO!" absolutely nothing will ever change.
Awesome information for new truckers!
Oh wow
In incredible video.
I learned a lot and hopefully I will use it in the coming future.
THANK YOU SO MUCH
So information .. i appreciate this video will be applying this knowledge on next week! Thank you!
This video is key to get started if your hungry and confident in yourself. I have been on this strategy for 3+ years now and have built a network of shippers in my area, which is much better to start and sell your service. When your trucks are operating within a 50 mile radius you can promise your customer alot of good things. You will be surprised how much income one direct shipper can bring you. One thing for sure tho you need to have multiple direct shippers (customers) because when your customer is down, you will be down. So never reject a new customer and ask them alot of questions about their operation to be able to help them accordingly. Have other trucking companies in alliance like your self where they can assist you with your customer and it can be a win win situation. Its a tough and not for every one.
I actually understand this huh. 🤔 Hmmm
hi Gary, anyway I can reach out to you for more insights? Starting out a trucking and would love to have more insights on the business
Should we call around for shippers or do we just walk in and ask if they need any drivers with their own truck and trailer?
So crazy bro i been watching your videos since i started my trucking business & i just saw one of your box trucks in my hometown Brandon, Fl thank you for all your help
I’ve been a truck driver for seven years, I’m a broker now. Even if the drivers went straight to the shipper, they’ll still accept cheap freight. The drivers take anything for any price then wonder why the market fuckd up
Because the reality is most truck drivers are just that... truck drivers. No business sense or knowledge of how one is supposed to run
Greetings, anything for 26ft straight trucks? Can operate 75-100 miles around NYC area. Thanks
@@cosbyikaev2584 speaking of taking anything. Along comes this guy
It’s cool… the younger and new drivers coming in want more than the old ass drivers. So we’re learning more of the business than just driving and eventually brokers will be done. Hopefully
@@WestCoastTruckingCEOwhere do you get loads from? I'll be starting out soon. Thanks for any help you can offer. Dry van btw 43 ft.
Brokers need to be put out of business . From jbhunt to Tql. Truckers need to be direct with shippers .

Im a trucker myself and i totally disagree. Its a great misconception thinking that intermediaries are not needed - without them business would be so much SLOWER! otherwise there would be no middlemen in practically in all industries on the planet for centuries. What we need is MORE brokers to create competition among them and thus drive prices down.
Then truckers will have less jobs
Agreed
Great video! Remember, sales can be reduced to a numbers game which magically sends personal rejection out the door where it belongs. Here is how it works, write down every time you make a call or face to face visit and let's say it takes you 12 attempts to get business. Ok, your number is 12. When you start over (after succeeding at getting business) and you get rejections, you now know, you have to get back to twelve attempts before you snag new business. Make sense? The "no" isn't necessary about you, it's about you are not to twelve. As you learn, this number will likely come down. Once you build relationships with a shipper, ask him/her what they like and don't like when approached by a trucker or trucking company and take notes-hone your craft. Respect and Honesty goes a long way with these shipping managers. Happy Trucking and be Safe.
would love more insights 🙂
This is very solid advice; thank you for sharing this

Do you have any advice for someone interested in going into trucking business as a driver and eventually owner operator
@@spotonnaan1630 Do you want to know how to end up with 1 million dollars by having your own trucking company?
Pretty good explanation of the straight line sales method ....
Hi brother great work, can you please post a video on total per mile cost breakup of running a truck
Right on bro. Really helpful
My man! Can you make a video running through what a Carrier - Shipper contract might consist of?
Yes please!

This is a great video for a company driver wanting to become an O/O
You are freaking awesome for this video!!
Can you do a video on how we would charge the shipper🤔 to deliver the load to get the direct freight
This is great advice,I don’t have a truck anymore because of the market, but I am not going to quit,if you need a hard working driver, give me a holler!
Great information in this video. Keep up the good work....
I partnered with my friend who has been working with direct shippers. Then, I realized it is the ONLY way to be profitable and scale a business.
You’re also realize that you have good friend :))
Thank you brother for your video!
Thanks Great Video Presentation Very Clear Camera
Wow, I'm on the independent dispatching side and this make cents to see why people try to get there (Brokerage License First). Since some don't have the investment yet, you can work as a broker getting direct shippers under the brokerage umbrella of a license broker making you the 3rd party logistics company....Good Video.
Thanks a lot,it’s really useful 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
Great content, thanks. You are the truth.
😊thanks for your helpful information
appreciate the knowledge.
This is the best information I’ve came across on how to work directly with shippers.
Nice video, please continue to help others, and myself also.
Thanks a lot, keep me updated please
Buddy ,
I appreciate your content you drop pure gems . Can you please make a video on how to grab sales . How to convince and grab carriers to work with you !
Thank you and love from Pakistan 🇵🇰♥️
gtreat video and very instructive one.thank you.
I'm so happy I made productive decisions about my finances that changed my life forever, hoping to retire next year... Investment should always be on any creative man's heart for success in life.
I agree with you and believe that the secret to financial stability is having the right investment ideas to enable you earn more money, I don't know who agrees with me but either way I recommend real estate or crypto and stocks.
Yeah!! It would be more beneficial and yield more profit if you actually trade on cryptocurrency, I've been trading since the dip, I've made so much profit trading.
trading is easier with proper guidance, especially from a professional, Newbies who are not aware of how crypto truly works and wish to make profits from it, I would advise to invest with a professional like Fergus waylen, It helps secure and minimize the possibilities of losses.
I'm honestly surprised that this name is being mentioned here, I stumbled upon one of his clients testimony last week in CNBC world news
Well, you are saying the fact. I invested $4,000 with fergus Waylen. and earned $12,000 in 7 working days.
Educational many thanks
Great video bro
Thank you for the video!
I believe you have used advices from “Never split the difference “,right?
Thanks great info
Just started this video but bro..
Those are the same 3 questions I ask myself before becoming an Owner Operator
Great info! One quick thing, the shipper's tracking spreadsheet doesn't seem to be available for download on your website, the others are great but haven't noticed that one. Help? thanks in advance!
This video is legit guys, just get through the first sales pitch & It does get real.
Amazing!
APPRECIATE YOU! GREAT CONTENT!!!
Just wondering, why the 3rd party brokerage would stay in partnership and give you the percentage, instead of reaching out to the shipper directly and cutting you out of this process?
Thank you 🙏🏾
You are awesome. Thank you
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I am a new shipper and I was trying to understand the relationship between the shipper and the trucking company. Thank you for a very well put presentation.
Hello, what region do you ship out of?
Hey, We can work together I have a right team of carriers with every type of Truck.
Do you have loads for 26ft straight trucks? We can operate 100 miles radius from New York City area. We are moving company with over 25 years of experience.
Hello do you ship anything out of Michigan I can dedicate 35 drivers they all 53ft dry van
Always make sure your trailers are swept and tidy.
What’s the best way to go about this as a new dispatcher?
"talk about a load we delivered" - not lying, just being deceptive to get your foot in the door 😂
One thing that nobody ever talks about is the near complete lack of regulation on these brokers while carriers and drivers are regulated excessively.
For example, these brokers like to blow up a driver's phone never mind the fact they're creating a safety hazard if he's driving or they're disturbing his much needed sleep.
You are amazing❤
Are you a carrier ?
Thanks again
great information Thanks...
Let me help all you noobs out. All you have to do is go to one of the shippers and stop your truck on the green flashing thing at the gate. I usually sort by total payment and take the longest route available. But, another option is to sort by price oer mile. You'll get more short trips and have to deal with more red lights though.
I’ve been in trucking for 25 years as a broker, trucking company owner and owner op. This is the first video Ive seen that has real value. There’s so much bad advice from ‘experts’ that have been in the industry for two years or less.
Hi Mike, anyway I can reach out to you for questions? Starting out a trucking soon and would love to hear more insights from a veteran :)
Thank you!!👍🏾Ken!!OH!
Good video. 👍🏻
Thank you
What if yur barely starting yur own company and still getting the hang of booking loads.. how can i structure a plan like this?
15 to 25%?? Man they are taking 50 to 60% now days ive asked a few shippers and when they tell me and i tell them we both are surprised
This only work for owner operator or lease purchase can do this to?
Good vid bro.
You still would need to use trucker board to get back to the area you need to go back to .
Who has time to wait 30-90 days for a shipper to pay. This is why we use brokers. They can afford to wait. We can’t afford to wait. It’s why we use a factoring company.
You are broker i guess 😂
Paaji too good 👍
Can you help me understand the base pricing for different shipments. Do pallets and electronics shipments be charged at the same price?
I've never worked with brokers.
I've actually jumped over brokers.
24 years straight with shippers.
How? Do you mind sharing
Would love to hear more about your experience
Shippers won’t pay for weeks!
Brokers confirmation can be factored and trucker gets paid in a day.
We don’t have money to keep going for weeks waiting on pay.,
Some shippers don't work with carriers direct.. Brokers don't make much off a load n if shippers dealing direct with carrier, they going to low ball too. Its just like realtor n cash buyers.. Brokers have surety bond.
Brother in Canada Mega carriers are hiring drivers on work permits and making them drive free for them with the promise to help them maintain their immigration status in Canada. These guys are ruining small owner operators both in Canada and the U.S.
No fucking way
@dave ros yup it is true . In Canada they started hiring directly from under developed counties. Us too, now people from other countries can apply for non-domiciled CDL directly and I see an increase in Haitian drivers who got license this way
Wow free
Just say no
That can’t be true cause they need a drivers license.
Skip the middle man it's a win for both parties involved
Thanks for the info! I don't see the downloadable template on your site.
Good video very very good 👍
