With the current gas prices I’ve actually seen Toyota trucks selling at Distributor Suggested retail price in California (don’t think we’ll see MSRP anytime soon), which is not great, but way better than $10k-$20k markups from the dealer.

    Very early on I put down a deposit with my dealer for the Overtrail. He cautioned me that, for the foreseeable future, I would have to choose from the stock that the dealer receives as Lexus will not be accepting custom orders for quite some time. Fortunately most of the options I want to order are available from the dealers. I am a little concerned that the dealer installed skid plates may not be up to the challenge of Arizona wheeling. They don't state whether the plates are aluminum or steel and they don't publish the thickness either. I'm also looking forward to third party front and rear bumpers to improve approach and departure angles. Nevertheless, I'm all in with Overttrail and really hope the dealer receives one to my liking. The pricing is slightly better than I expected.

    It’ll be interesting to see how the land cruiser pricing will compare to the GX considering it will supposedly start at the mid 50’s for the base trim. Which it seems like for 8000 more if you compare the base trims isn’t that much for a better powertrain and other goodies. Even less if you compare the first edition to the base GX

    We will be holding out for an Overtrail + depending on price but I have a feeling the sticker will likely be closer to $80K if not higher. First year "gotta have it" madness will drive dealer markups and demand. I'll gladly wait until year two or possibly three for the new to wear off.

Once the dealers get ahold of the inventory, the middle man tax is skyrocketing. Not to mention the limited inventory. I am thinking the premium model at the dealer will be $70-$72k by all's said and done. Buyers are not left with much to do in negotiation either; the dealer can simply let the next customer walk in.

    Oh I was trying to decide between luxury and overtrail trim and seems like overtrail is a no brainer if that price difference is correct. I was hoping to get an overtrail plus but I don't think $8,000 is worth it (remember you gotta pay sales tax and interest on that $8k too! Probably ends up around $10k in reality I can practically buy a used off road rig for just difference going from an Overtrail to Overtrail plus for some options that are mostly gimmicks). From that trim and option sheet, it looks like the HUD isn't even included in the Luxury Plus...crimany. Easily $90k out the door for all the options and that's if you can get one for MSRP.

    Great review as always Jon!
    I bought a 23’ Toyota Sequoia TRD Off-Road this past Summer. I honestly love it, it’s been a great rig! However, I do have 4 boys and 2 are teens. After seeing all this new info in regards to the new GX, I’m seeing that they’re offering 7 seat options. Is this something you think I should pursue since it doesn’t have the Hybrid? My kids are only getting bigger and I do know that they’ll need the leg room in a few years. Obviously I’m invested in the quality and dependability of Toyota’s. Just thought that I’d ask to see what you think! Love the content Bro, definitely appreciate all you do for the channel! Happy Thanksgiving to you and the fam! 🤙🏽

      I have seen video on the GX550’s 3rd row, they are useless. Absolutely no leg room. Your best bet is the TX500h if you need the 3rd row.

    • @TRDJon
      @TRDJon  11 месяцев назад +1
