Lexus products just require premium. Not sure what internals are different or for other reasons. But personally, I'd probably just put reg in mine if driving alot. Those could also be the HP and TQ numbers on premium so if you did reg gas it may be even less.

The engine could make full power on 87, but doing that in hot environments or loading it up or running it hard to increase heatsoak may cause the engine to pull timing in order to prevent preignition. Lexus customers likely won’t see that kind of use but maybe the thought is that Lexus never wants the engine to feel less potent if it encounters harder use that could impede power if run on 87. Just a guess.
I think at least for the LX600 the owners manual says minimum octane of 91. Presume it’ll be similar verbiage for the GX. Or if this is the final version of the spec sheet maybe this will buck the trend and just recommend 91.

GX550 F Lol. The LC, ISF, RCF, GSF all top out around 170 so highly doubt the GX top end. Plus I can't imagine what that would feel like. My GX470 has gotten past 130mph so anything around that is good enough

Don’t pay the premium for what can be had for much less and the new one is cool plastic but it really doesn’t have anything that is that much different than the 460 unless you just have to have the newest look. Toyota has lost its way and are way to high across the board

I got a 2023 Tundra Limited with TRD Off Road package and a 3 inch lift for 66k, the Tacos are crazy now

This SUV is a homerun. Really the only bummer is the 17 MPG combined. Pretty abysmal. My 2006 Explorer got 15. Plus 2 18 years later is pretty weak.
