The Yemeni way is as follows: boil have cup of cascara in 4 cups of water for about five minutes and add at the beginning 5 cardamons, 1/4 tea spoon cinnamon, and 1/3 teas spoon of ginger powder (sugar as needed). Filter and enjoy drinking.

I work for an ice cream store, over here in Brazil, and we make Cascara Sorbet for a few coffee shops around. I noticed that i had to concentrate the tea, so my recipe went to 7 grams of cascara to 100g of water, straight out of the boil, 11 minutes infusion, mixing with a spoon three times in the time. Anywhere before that time, the tea was too sweet, had to have a longer brew time to find some acidity/bitterness

that sounds amazing! i think we might have to try that here haha. What else would you add to the tea to make it into a sorbet?

Can you make cascara tea like espresso (grind, tamp, and pull as usual)? Or maybe mix the ground skins with beans and grind them together to make a hybrid cascara/coffee shot?

We have tried, but the Cascara will clog a grinder. The results of a mixture of Cascara and ground coffee was not considered desirable yet by our staff.

My country is one of the top coffee producers in the world (Hint: South East Asia near Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, and Phillipines). But I never heard of Cascara being sold even once! There are some much coffee beans to choose here. Much enough to make you overwhelmed. But most of the beans are exported, including the Cascara! I feel really really bad

That's a shame! Cascara could be added revenue for the coffee industry in your country. Then again, just because you don't hear about it doesn't mean it's not happening behind the scenes

Actually, cascara is now a new trend in Indonesia. In Bondowoso, we have a Blue-Fire Cascara, that represent of Blue Fire in Ijen's Mountain. When hot water poured into them, it can surprisingly changed its color into a blue. I also already seen a cascara syrup, that made by extracting a cascara, to make them something more long-lasting served, also made in Bondowoso. But yeah, the marketing still not really good. Just a few people that down to a coffe processing that included here. And right now, you can find a lot of cascara's research conducted by researcher to know what combination to make a good cascara and how to spread this info into people.
P.s : I'm not good at English, but I hope you guys understand what I mean
