The real truth is. we all know JayZ was assigned to Beyoncé and has always been her industry handler husband, whose had a great impact on her career direction and successes. However, what Beyoncé has really been saying is that her mother Tina didn’t do her job! Because it’s an insult to give this much credit to a man ( and not he’d own mother) unless a woman just didn’t have good strong matriarchal role models in her life. JayZ has always been Beyoncé’s handler husband because Beyoncé has always been easy to control on that level.
What is the purpose of the relationship? Marriage. A Man and a Woman unite to create a family. Each person brings knowledge, skills, abilities, Character, etc. Talk about it, and make sure that each share similar goals and objectives. This takes communication.
little Kim, Beyoncé, Ciara, Cardi B all have an influence BW. Not realizing that these women are doing the opposite. Just listen to lyrics and watch videos BW pay attention.
I’ve heard feminism was originally about giving women credit for the contributions we make, that’s the definition I normally go on. Whether that’s delivering children and managing economics of the home or contributing successful ideas to your husbands business. 9/10 famous men only became great because of the capable women behind them- Leo Tolstoy, for example, his wife heavily edited his work, especially War and Peace which became widely known as the greatest novel of all time due to her suggestions to focus more on human emotion and relationship dynamics rather than on battle strategy. Not only that she held down the family of THIRTEEN CHILDREN by herself while he went away on sabbatical to “work” “alone” for months at a time. This man never thanked her publicly. Her efforts are rarely mentioned whenever Tolstoy’s genius is a topic of discussion and yet history is full of women who did just as much for their families for less reward (no protection, no provision, no problem solving. None of the mythical masculine Ps traditionalists promise HVM naturally provide). And society STILL wanted to devalue a woman’s intelligence and deny her right to independence. I know that’s a contentious word in this space but things such as owning her own home, or her own bank account, even the right to medical privacy all fall under the category of independence and should be available to all human beings but were not offered to women for a long time. We had to fight for that. Feminism HAD a purpose even for black women but lately it has been more about making men pay for those years of injustice rather than *peacefully and respectfully coexisting.*
Bullshit. There are plenty of men who only got women because of their success. Women love to take credit for men's hard work when quite often a bad woman is a distraction. There's no denying that a good woman can stoke a fire in a man but we are fully capable of success without women. Just look a gay folks for that example.
@@BluEx22329well that’s seems to be Beyoncé defintion and it’s mine as well just because other people have their own doesn’t mean Beyoncé is wrong for her she lives her life nor myself
Elma Akob an African feminist has a different take on Feminism than the American flavor. It seems to be more about fighting for women's rights than opposing men. It allows for women empowerment without separating from men. I can't speak for her, but this is what I got from watching one of her talks. I would like to see our people start working together instead of fighting each other or at least focusing on those that DO want to work together. This has nothing to do with Beyonce, but my point is that I think in America we only know about the American flavor of feminism.
The "american flavor" of feminism didn't start out being against men. It morphed into that after women felt that they made significant progress in equality. The "African flavor" will be no different.
Exactly feminism is not competition… feminism is about women‘s rights aka getting treated fairly in every aspect of their lives: paid work leave in work environment, social, relationship, etc… I think Beyonce made big moves… I think Jay Z is paying for cheating on Beyonce and Jay Z realizes how he almost fumbled a real women…
Beyonce is from a two parents house, she is traditional, she never goes around riding the carousel, she trust & believes in her man. She never ask any woman to jump on the feminism man hating narrative to mess their opposite gender. She is a woman that knows how to build with a man
Hey Dee! Yes, I can see the influence of men/her man Jay-Z. She seems heavily under her man’s influence (which is not bad), however, that is not the way for a true feminist.
Women want the "narrative" of feminism and independence, but don't actually want true independence and equality. Women want to have the fun "the boys" are having but don't want to be alone steering the ship. On the other hand, ethnic and racial groups would gladly live in their own communities if they are allowed to succeed. But independent women want to be independent in a world that would still rely on men in most ways. Ultimately I'm mostly neutral to the whole fight and don't take it so seriously because as a guy I really do believe if men treat women equally, respectfully and with love, we wouldn't have feminism in the first place. However, it is a farce as it is a contradiction in most ways.
Feminism does not mean that men and women are the same, feminism means that men and women have the same RIGHTS. only people who are very poor intellectually have not understood this fundamental notion. We are equal in law. this is the meaning of true feminism, and it is an important cause because historically, women were considered as inferior beings, and did not have the same fundamental rights as men (right to vote, to work, to have a bank account, or even marry the person of their choice). Great video, I love your vibe ❤️❤️❤️🌹
Men dont have the right to ab0rt from child support but women can ab0rt a whole human. Less jail time for the same crimes men get. The right to abuse men with little to no punishment...
Equal in law? Men get more jail time for the same crimes women do. Women are generally good at choosing men to marry/reproduce with? Look at all these pookies that women allowed to make babies with them. Women are better with finances? Look who makes more money in the usa but look who spents more. I agree with the other stuff
@@BluEx22329 Definitely agree that those last two double standards exist! But that first statement?! Listen, I hear people say that a lot and I think it’s insane that those people fail to see that a whole human is now alive. The child is here now … take care of the child

How did she fool you into thinking that you should be independent when Beyoncé is a business woman, has her own money as well. Isn’t that what she said in independent women to have your own. So how has she fooled you exactly
How did bw allow themselves to get finessed by these celebs like Cardi, Beyonce etc? Are bw not as smart and discerning as they claim to be? I really want to know. How could they fall for being mislead the way they have been by these female celebs?

My guess is it’s willful ignorance based on arrogance. At the end of the day many who claim the boss B lifestyle are faking in public and crying in private. It’s sad.
Well, is it possible to be an occasional feminist? I am submissive to certain male energies but not others. That being said, certain male energies make me wish I still could produce babies even at my old ass age. But for the 99.9/10th% of men, I cannot submit. So much maybe Im a 9/10ths feminist or a 50/50 'com ci come sa' or fairweather feminist or maybe a submissive in feminist clothing, or the opposite 😳 ooooh...😮therefore, I resist labels in this regards. Another thot is that life experiences and maturity affect where we stand like a 'sliding scale feminist' 😅😅😅 you got me overthinking this Nneka!
Submitting has never been about submitting to every man down the street. Do you really think Beyoncé is submitting to the man who cuts her grass or who parks her car. Nneka, even Chimamanda Adichie the self acclaimed feminist is married with a child with no drama. I can tell for sure as an Igbo girl, she cooks for her husband and cleans the house and wash their clothes. Let the sisterhood remain in foolishness while those they idolize and follow (Beyonce, Ciara, Chimamanda etc) are all married with children and are enjoying family life with their husbands who they respect and submit to.
That’s true. No African girl with African upbringing and got married in African traditions before the white wedding is proclaiming to be an actual feminist in their home 😂. It would be a lie.
At what point were Beyonce ever some independent, self-made woman? As best I can tell, she went from being under the protection and guidance of her father Matthew to the protection and guidance of Jay Z.
@jjw1920 - No one is saying Byonce is not successful. But she has never been an "independent woman." She has always had either her father or her husband.
As a Beyoncé fan, I don’t understand why y’all are mad tbh. Lol 😂 like my brain is so confused. I thought everyone knew that a singer singing a song doesn’t mean that they have gone thru it. Usher sang confessions and he didn’t have a baby with another woman. It’s almost like y’all hold Beyoncé to a higher standard just to get upset with her. She literally told y’all her definition of feminism. She said it’s the equality of both sexes. No where in her definition did it state that she doesn’t need a man. Lol so I’m confused as to why people think she wouldn’t love her husband 😂. It’s giving stupidity!!! Beyoncé saying single ladies was not to tell woman to be single but to if a man likes it that he should put a ring on it. Lol 😂 it’s the opposite of telling women to be single. Beyoncé making lemonade is not just about cheating. It was about healing generational curses that was passed down in her family between men and women and her working out her marriage in the end. So once again, I am confused why YOU all are confused. Beyoncé has been clear about who she is from day one. YOU all decided to put her in a category and are mad that she is staying in the box you decided she should stay in.
You clearly have not listened to Beyonce's music catalog if you think Single ladies and irreplaceable are her only songs. Beehive knows how much Beyonce loves and adores her husband and she has been open about it from day one. So mush so that many people call her a pick me for her lyrics. She has always shown love to her man in songs, and in public. Not her fault that you have a misconception about who she is. You can be a happily married woman that loves and respects your husband and still be a feminist that believes in women's rights. @@nnekaonyilofor
Believe me if jayz didn't have those powerful white men behind him and guiding his money and career she surely wouldn't give him a second look or be with him.
I see it this way. The Beyoncé that we see is the performer and should be seen for entertaining purposes only. Just like everyone else, she is a completely different person once she is around her family where she has different responsibilities to her children and husband than to her fans who she owes nothing more than a good performance for the money spent. So for me, this is no surprise, maybe for others, this may come as a disappointment. I believe as an entertainer, she is going to do what will sale and expand her brand. This is why as free thinking people, one should live their own life based upon their own cultivated philosophy and not look to entertainers to bolster their beliefs. Beyoncé, like every other celebrity, is here to entertain, nothing more, nothing less. After you have enjoyed her music and left her concert, leave her on stage and go home and live your life with a nice Renaissance song in your mind. Just my thoughts.
The problem is hiding behind the Just Entertainment *** narrative is not acknowledging the impact of Entertainment normalizing dysfunctional, distorted and unhealthy behaviors. Everything you say about an Entertainers off stage identity differences are consciously what mature adults recognize. Consciously*. Subconsciously, her Independent Women messaging still influenced 2 generations of BW who didn’t draw a line between female empowerment vs. disrespecting and devaluing Manhood. So it’s disingenuous to give her a pass anymore than the corner drug dealer who both take responsibility feeding the community poison 🤷🏾♂️
I’ve been saying this for years… all of those “women are boss bit?! songs” and she still has a whole husband. Whether he cheated or not she’s still with her man giving him all his flowers
Having my own bank account, the right to vote, own property or inherit from my family is horrible? Being able to see a husband who beats me go to jail for it is bad? Being able to keep money I make is bad? Feminism has given that to black women too. Take that and ignore some of the other aspects.
This is not a receipt that has emerged LOL. This is a home video from 2006 that Beyonce included in the Documentary "Life is but a dream" IN 2013. And Beyonce has not deceived anyone. Anyone who is a fan knows how much Beyonce loves her husband. She has so many songs that talks about love and songs that are dedicated to her man. You can have love and respect for your husband and still be a feminist. WOW black women are so confused about marriage and relationships.
The problem here is that people are conflating the art with the person. The songs aren't real just like characters in a movie aren't real. Denzel is not Alonzo from Training Day. Sean Carter is not Jay Z.
Good women listen to music and enjoy it as entertainment. Bad women use the music as an excuse to show who they really are. alot of women who never marry get to old an all the sudden men are no longer seeking her for anything outside of a fun time in the bed. now she wants to take men seriously. She is grand mother with grey hair talking about men act like they dont want settle down, i just want to be a wife now i have lived my life. But men want a young wife who he can experience her 20s, 30s, 40s, 50, 60s with and if Yah willing their golden years up until their 90s.
You don't get to decide something that has been decided. Feminist movement started long ago & you subscribe to the sentiment or you don't, but you don't get to change a movement that you don't create. No one can change the Crips, bloods, or feminism because you started none of them

Because it’s an insult to give this much credit to a man ( and not he’d own mother) unless a woman just didn’t have good strong matriarchal role models in her life. JayZ has always been Beyoncé’s handler husband because Beyoncé has always been easy to control on that level.
Very interesting!

What is the purpose of the relationship? Marriage. A Man and a Woman unite to create a family. Each person brings knowledge, skills, abilities, Character, etc. Talk about it, and make sure that each share similar goals and objectives. This takes communication.

This video is a breathe of fresh air. Great job Nneka C. Onyilofor. Now I'm waiting to see the push back from all the man hating women 😂
It’s coming 😅
No, they have their spaces. Let them stay where they are! This is a breath of fresh air.
Feminism aint been that for damn near 100 years
Bullshit. There are plenty of men who only got women because of their success. Women love to take credit for men's hard work when quite often a bad woman is a distraction. There's no denying that a good woman can stoke a fire in a man but we are fully capable of success without women. Just look a gay folks for that example.
@@BluEx22329 the movement is around 60 years old, so how is your statement true?
@@BluEx22329well that’s seems to be Beyoncé defintion and it’s mine as well just because other people have their own doesn’t mean Beyoncé is wrong for her she lives her life nor myself
Thank you for this. It highlights the evolving definition and interpretation of feminism.
If this was after Jay Z cheated on her and she still stuck with him and continue to build, it'll further show how much bill of goods we've been sold 😅
You raise a very good point. Thank you for this insight. 🙏🏾
The "american flavor" of feminism didn't start out being against men. It morphed into that after women felt that they made significant progress in equality. The "African flavor" will be no different.
That sounds more like "womanism" than feminism.
@@b-ville504 Maybe you’re right about this. I hope not, but that could happen.

Exactly!
She is a woman that knows how to build with a man
Hey @nneka you said u seen "manhood" in Beyonce life while have this feminist msg in her shows...can you explain that plzz,,?
Hey Dee! Yes, I can see the influence of men/her man Jay-Z. She seems heavily under her man’s influence (which is not bad), however, that is not the way for a true feminist.
Time to put on that beekeeper suit 😎
😅😆
Well said. Thank you!
Finally, someone provided a tangible definition of feminism! 💯

She fooled you how? Lol Beyoncé has been with jayz for 20 years. How did she fool you into not knowing she loved her husband? How did she fool you into thinking that you should be independent when Beyoncé is a business woman, has her own money as well. Isn’t that what she said in independent women to have your own.
Omg! I LOVE your commentary Julia! I could do an entire video called “sliding scale feminist”! 🤣
Submitting has never been about submitting to every man down the street. Do you really think Beyoncé is submitting to the man who cuts her grass or who parks her car. High class women submit to high class men. Unless Beyoncé is worth way more than Jay Z she is submitting out of her need to be hypergamous

The older I get, It almost seems like feminism is when a female catches a temper tantrum about the circumstances in her life.

At what point were Beyonce ever some independent, self-made woman? As best I can tell, she went from being under the protection and guidance of her father Matthew to the protection and guidance of Jay Z.
Don’t disrespect that woman’s work ethic like that.
Beyoncé is a mutiple business owner and a successful singer so please be quiet. She doesn’t need a husband but she choose to be with him.
@jjw1920 - No one is saying Byonce is not successful. But she has never been an "independent woman." She has always had either her father or her husband.
True. Which doesn’t sound very feminist to me.
Beyonce just completed a world tour by herself that grossed 600 Million LOL
This video was in response to the “you taught me how to be a woman” statement.
The problem is, it can be very difficult for some people to distinguish between the two.
Wow, so beautifully and intelligently said❤

I’ve been saying this for years… all of those “women are boss bit?! songs” and she still has a whole husband. Whether he cheated or not she’s still with her man giving him all his flowers
The feminist movement was horrible for women. And even worse for black women. Its all BS.❤
Having my own bank account, the right to vote, own property or inherit from my family is horrible? Being able to see a husband who beats me go to jail for it is bad? Being able to keep money I make is bad? Feminism has given that to black women too. Take that and ignore some of the other aspects.
Aww has their god disappointed them ? 😢
Very good point!
Men and women are equally different from each other
Good women listen to music and enjoy it as entertainment.
Bad women use the music as an excuse to show who they really are.
