As a black man who experienced this in high school I will say it’s a lot to do with the environment you’re in. I thought I was too black for the white girls, too corny or “not hood enough” for the black girls. Its not that I wasn’t attracted to BW but I didn’t even waste my time flirting with them. My first real girlfriend was Hispanic. It wasn’t until I started traveling and going around different circles that I realized that not all black women are the same. Some are ratchet, some are conservative, some are soft spoken, some are extremely expressive. Nothing is wrong with any of them, you just have to find what works for you.

As a black woman, black men were horrible to me growing up because I was super skinny and awkward looking. That experience growing up did not turn me off of all black men. It did open me up to dating other people (go where you appreciated not tolerated). White men appreciated my features and personality. My partner now is black. Date who you want but don't paint everyone with the same brush cause you have a preference.

I dated white women most of life due to where I grew up , and who I went to school with. The first and only black woman I dated was in college, we've being married for 12 years. It's not always about race some time it's just the environment you grew up in
We as black people have to admit how harsh we are to OUR dark skinned brothers and sisters. We start with jokes that causes trauma for that person. And we have to also admit can't no woman throw shade to a brother trying to holla like a black woman. The eye and neck roll is our signature and no one has to put up with that. We could use a little more kindness to our own.

Well honestly it doesnt matter what skin color you are, the only thing that matters is the heart. Just because you opted for a different race outside of your own doesnt mean you'll automatically be treated better. You can receive good or bad treatment from ANY race. The people that were childish and mocked TO when he was younger did it to his face, but the dynamic of people he ran to for comfort couldve been mocking him just the same behind his back. It doesn't matter what color you're skin is, the content of their character does. Some people have to address this trauma in their life and not let past errors and miatakes dictate their way now.
As a black man i could never see myself with someone that doesnt go through my experience me trying to explain the black experience to a white women or any other race is ridiculous i want a women that understands and we go through it together i could never fully connect with someone that is not my complexion because as black people we are soo heavily discriminated against.

Man those callers were very honest and hit it right on the head .. I have a friend named Tre and he’s very dark skin and he’s super sensitive about it , but I remember when we went out one night and we brought some people back to the crib to keep the party going and all I remember is a couple black guys roasting him over and over about how dark he is and called him all type of names and then next thing I know Tre stormed out of the house he just couldn’t take it anymore .. after that I kicked everyone out and then called Tre to come back and we sat down and talked about it for a couple hours and he told me the samething … he said he’s always been teased about his dark skin by his own people for years and the pain I saw in his eyes when telling me just made me so upset because the man is a good man he’s never out of pocket , he’s always on time , he never will steer you wrong and hes a loyal friend I just don’t understand how black folk can stand up for diversity and go to extreme lengths for acceptance but yet when it comes to their own people they want judge because of skin color .. I’ll never forget that night because I was sooo clueless to the whole situation and didn’t even know that was a thing in the black community..

I get it, I got teased constantly because I talked "white" and as an adult I still have a bit of apprehension when I see other black people, other cultures didn't care I was a nerd and i just drifted to where I was accepted for me, and encouraged to be a nerd. It's the same today where black ladies ignore me, and other cultures don't. But I'm very much aware it's not all black women and I've had some had my back when nobody else did, no need to punish an entire culture.

He’s open to other races. He’s not against dating his own. He said dispute what he went through early in life, it hasn’t deterred him from dating and pursuing black women.
