Definitely going to try this❣ My Dad is 90. He can't really enjoy a Christmas dinner anymore... but I think he'd LOVE this❣ Thank you so much, Cheryl 🙏 Love from South Africa 🇿🇦 ❤ 🎄
Cheryl just mooching on you tube & saw this but tonight for tea I did a mince beef/ pork & onion chutney plait. It was so nice, very easy to do, looked very pro before & after it came out the oven. Not expensive to make either. So gonna watch your video now!! I know u said on your shopping haul video you were going to make 1.
@@WhatsForTea we've eaten it Cheryl!! I usually tldo take a pic of things I cook but didn't tonight. We had ours with gnocchi, leeks, green beans & onion gravy. I used my homemade onion chutney in the plait, I put it on the pasrty then put the meat on top. But next time I would also.put chutney into the meat mixture as well. There's only a bit left as I did us a generous portion as it was for a maim meal. There's just 1 bit left but I think my husband will eat that later on. Yours also looks very professional Cheryl but they really easy aren't they!
I finally found some gluten free puff pastry since coming across your channel. I have been trying to figure out which of your recipes to try and here is another contender. This looks incredible! ❤
This brought back happy memories of the parties my mum and dad used to have back in the 70's. My mum to make at least 3 of these with different ingredients. Mushrooms or peppers and onions. My brothers and I even used to cut a thick slice and make a sandwich out of it
Ooh Cheryl you've just reminded me how good that is. I used to add little cubes of apple to mine if I used plain sausage meat and you're right about the extra liquid, I'm going to make one very soon and I'll add the breadcrumbs this time too. I sometimes add stuffing mix to meatloaf so that could probably work well too. Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas 🎄🎁🎅
Brilliant! I made this years ago in Home Economics and remember making it a few times at home but had lost track of the quantities, cooking time etc and have not made it for a long time. Great to see!
Oh. My. Sausage Roll, yes. AND doing this plait technique for a thicker Apple or Cherry 'Pie' instead of in a traditional crust. THANK YOU FOR TEACHING US THIS.
Gosh that sounds really tasty , my late husband was a great fan of sausage rolls 😮 must give it a try when I am back up on my pins , a trip to A/E after a fall last week ended up with nasty dose of Covid this week ,. do enjoy all your videos youre a star 😊
That was delicious ! I make baby sausage rolls. And you’re so lucky to find sausage meat! That makes a difference I have to use ground pork and add the spices to make it flavourful!❤
@What'sForTea • Cheryl: Thanks for the detailed instructions. This looks much easier than I thought. This is perfect to try in the cooler weather. Thanks for sharing. 👍
Half way through making my giant sausage roll and suddenly thought I need to know how to plait! Thank goodness for your video. Just done my plait, I'd like to say its good but it looks more like a frayed bit of rope. 😂 I'll need to practice! I've just looked at your playlist and I'll definitely try more recipes, I care for my elderly Dad and he was overjoyed that I finally learnt how to make Mince and Tatties so I need to master all the traditional recipes now!
This is lovely. It would also be great for serving on Superbowl Sunday (January football game in the USA.) I love the plated version. Baked Beans and mashed potatoes 😍
Hi Cheryl, sorry I’m late to the sausage plait party 🎉, was out shopping 🛒. This looks so impressive & bet it tastes delicious, might try a modified smaller version for myself as that would feed me for the best part of a week! It won’t look so impressive, but it will taste just as nice I’m sure, I’ve got ordinary sausage rolls heating in the oven at the moment, & they pale into insignificance having seen your masterpiece!😆 Take care & enjoy the rest of your week. Xx 👩🏻🍳🍲💕💞🩷
That looks tasty 😋! Im going to make it it tomorrow night, am having a few friends over for some little munchies and Christmas Cheer! 🌭🍻🍷🫕Thank you so much for sharing Cheryl. 💖🙋🏻♀️🇺🇸
I'll be making this for Christmas too (and New Year and Easter, on my birthday and my children's birthdays and my grand-children's and my great-grand children's birthdays and................
@@WhatsForTea I'm curious how you would season chopped beef, ground chicken or ground lamb for this type of dish. I was wondering what to make for a party this weekend and voilà this got posted. Thanks for the great ideas.
@@DLFHI made a turkey mince 1 just a couple of weeks ago, I added sage and onion stuffing mix , cranberry sauce, salt and pepper it was delicious as a Sunday lunch with new potatoes and veg.
Our canteen at work sometimes has these on the menu served with baked beans which go together beautifully, I've recently made one aswell which is a great alternative to a homemade sausage rolls.
American buddies! Throw ground pork, nutmeg, mace. Sage, garlic, and onion in the food processor. Pulse until you reach the desired texture for your sausage meat. American sausage could never. Lol
I'm here in the US and my sausage choices mostly Italian style and flavored ( garlic, fennel)or what we call Breakfast sausage with a sage flavor and sometimes maple. What type of seasoning is in the sausage you use?
Hahaha, when watching you said garlic and just kept on pouring. So I was thinking "That's a lot of garlic" until realising that it was the breadcrumbs. If it had been an African cooking video I wouldn't have been shocked as their "a bit of chili" equals 765 977 habaneros with seeds and all, but you're a Brit, so you're supposed to run quickly past the dish and throw a pinch towards the dish from a 4 metres distance.😉
😄 not quite Arthur! But I do have a pork pie video recipe on the channel if you want to see it..here it's here: ruclips.net/video/1vkRFKSevyI/видео.html
Good evening friends :) Thank you for joining me for this weeks recipe video :) I’ll join you down in the comments for a wee while x

I'm thinking some black pudding, or better still haggis, could be added to the sausage meat.
All of those would be lovely! You could also wrap the sausage meat in bacon ☺👍
Looks absolutely delicious! Do you ever make these plants with other types of ground or chopped meat?
I haven't ☺ but I'm sure it's wonderful with different combinations 👍

Ooh - I wonder if you can use turkey as the meat ?!? (With pork aswell !) 🎉
Delicious looking dish. A little marinara sauce, or a cheese sauce on the side would be nice
Big plate please hen x

+1 for used of the word "Smoosh"

Hi Thom ☺ I just checked the packaging...the seasonings listed are, salt, white pepper, black pepper and parsley. Pretty simple flavours.
@@WhatsForTea Thank you, Cheryl. Much appreciated! Wish that type was available here. I can get ground pork and add my own seasoning to that.
