You are such an inspiration I cannot even begin … I started running on a regular basis a while back, recently bought myself a road bike and after watching your videos I’m going to work on my swimming technique and also keep pushing my limits and improve on my other skills. As a content creator myself I know how difficult things can get and I really hope you stick with it. Your videos are really amazing and you have great editing skills. You seem like a very talented and down to earth individual. I am 100% convinced this channel is going to blow up. Just stick to it ! I wish you, your family and your girlfriend all the best ! Enjoy life and stay healthy !
WOW, the biggest support I've ever received!! Thank you so much🤩
Your right shoulder hurts because you should rotate the core and use all the body strenght while kayaking!( and you should use a better kayak to be able to use a good technique I think. I'm a marathon kayaker myself and I use a nelo 7 kayak, but it will take a lot of time to get comfortable in that. there will be more kayaks that will suit you) look up Ivan Lawler on youtube for tips.
Even a light paddle can make a big difference.
This is my way to tell you that you are incredible role model and your videos trully inspire! Please keep it up and remember that your community loves you
WOAH, thanks a bunch!! Much appreciated✌ I think that's the biggest Super Thanks anyone has given me yet😍
Holy cow the physique on this man! Nobody can doubt you're really completing these races with legs like that!
the edition and work u put into ur videos in insane, u deserve so many more views and subs
Thank you for this. I just finished a 4 day trek through the Italian alps on my honeymoon and messed up my knee. I have my first ultra spartan race (50km-12,000 to 15,000 ft of climbing) and was worried about using cycling for training to rest my knee. You read my mind. I don’t think not running will be the issue in the condition I am but it definitely feels good to see you push through and use the same method. Awesome man! Love the videos!
Excited for the 1 min per day run!!! Let’s goooo
I would recommend the knees over toes guys program for knee rehab and knee bulletproofing
These keep getting better, truly inspiring and fun at a lot of times. You're mentality is awesome!!
Listening to the thunder roll was pretty trippy because it was raining where I was watching and there was really long thunder rolls
Haha, Ottili! Best humor. Keep on loving back.
I love this video!! Super inspiring and I appreciate you putting the amount of time per training
Thanks a bunch Courtney :) !
Such a fun video !
I'm no kayak expert so correct me if I'm wrong : when swimming, more movements per minute doesn't always mean faster... So I'd say while on your kayak do more gliding and less paddling ?
Maybe it can also help the numb shoulders :)
Keep at it my friend. Consistency is key. Eventually you will become super popular here. Cant wait
Love the Channel, always keeps me motivated. Much love
These training vlogs are so fun and relaxing, It's such a good format combined with the amazing editing. Keep up the great videos!
Ottilie rocks! :)
The shoulder pain might be because of the tecnique. Padling in kajak is about core rotation and pushing the paddle. Might sound off with the push part. But When the left side of the padle is ind the water, you should rotate in your core and push with your right chest muscle.
Looking forward to follow you on your long race champ
Best regards from Denmark
thanks for the feedback :)
BIG TIP BRO: you can mix a gel yourself just buying it's basic ingredients. You can go with pure maltodextrin. Or mix 2 per 1 shares of maltodextrin and fructose if you need more than 60 grams of carbs per hour. (most unprofessionals can endure only 60. pro athletes can consume up to 120 g per hour). It will be 10 times cheaper. Add a touch of salt, add some flavour like lemon juice or apple juice. You will feel great. You can also add pectin if you need a jelly texture. BTW, there are no studies that during the race electrolytes help. Seems like we run on what we stored beforehand. Though it's just about 13 studies on that overall.
Message me if you need a more detailed recepie. It's a common knowledge among triathletes. We mix it into the big bottle so you don't need to mess with a lot of packs also. Just 1 bottle with food, 1 bottle with water and you feel great. Though i would add some bars for a mix during such a long race for sure.
Hey there @johnnyDarko! i would love to get that receipe aswell and give at go at my Ultra-marathon journey :) how can i reach you? many thanks! :)
I've been training on watter bottles + 100gram pure sugar + 2gram salt + lemon juice for taste, never looked back to anything else lol
Wow, truly amazing.
Find a sled that you can push and pull. It helps a ton for the knees 😊👍
Thanks for the tip! :)
Ticks are also a big problem here in Lithuania too. Most of people here who goes to nature a lot, gets a vaccine, then you don't have to worry about them as much. Also, love the workouts!
Hey Jonne! Your paddling technique looks pretty good actually. But there are a few things you could try to change:
It looks like you're grabbing the paddle too narrowly. That puts a lot of strain on your arms (and shoulders) because the lever between hand 1 and hand 2, that you're using to push water, becomes shorter. Try grabbing the paddle wider and play around with how different hand positions feel.
The other thing is that you're entering the water too late and exiting too late. It's just like the catch in swimming: You get the most forward propulsion when the paddle blade is perpendicular to the direction you're moving. Once the blade is past your hips you are mainly pushing water upwards and wasting energy. You should try entering the water at the height of your toes and exiting around your hips.
The third thing I would try is keeping your hands and elbows lower. You have quite a steep whitewater stroke. That's great for whitewater but exhausting for flatwater. Try to keep your elbows bent juuuust a tiny bit and in flatwater it's OK to make flat and wide strokes keeping your arms low. A good drill for that is to keep your elbows completely straight and do all the work from your core rotation.
Hope this helps!
hey WOW, thanks a ton for the tips, such great insights!!🤩
keep it up!
“It’s your word against mine” lol 😂
Check out the box method for kayaking - you want to move as little as possible for each movement and keep each move like it’s in a little box
Love the videos keep it up!
So motivating... I just remembered how you did yoga before, and now your flexibility have improved so much. Keep going!
Great vid!
Totally agree with said comments. Great entertainment
for the record, I am taking O's word over yours 😌
😆 noted. And thanks a bunch for the support :) !!
good luck. just did my own 40+ hrs. sleep deprivation is hard. that was hardest for me. not so much good info on how to handle anticipated acute sleep deprivation. pubmed searches were not fruitful

In the kayak use a wider arm hold and dont use just arm strength use your whole body to move it

Be sure to wash your clothes warm enough otherwise the ticks in your clothes will survive
Is ur girlfriend from the Netherlands by any chance? Her accent sounds veeeery Dutch
Belgium I think : )
I’m Dutch! Don’t actually speak like that though, we have a funny way of speaking to each other lol
@@OttiIie It wasn't in this video that I noticed. Although even in your special way of speaking to each other you can still hear a bit of "Dutchness".
Increase your cadence. That slow, jumpy running is the worst for your knee. Been there myself. Slow run should be shorter steps, not less of them. When it comes to paddling, I think watching some technique videos would do wonders. I think it is more of a core work than anything else. Hard to say from such a short clip
Noted!
You're girlfriend is super cute! You're a perfect match.💗💗💗
thank you!! 😊 she's the cutest
