    This is a realistic acrylic portrait painting tutorial with step by step illustration for easy understanding. I am using glazing technique for applying the skin tone from the first layer. Then applying multiple payers to achieve the actual skin tone over a monochrome under painting. I am using only water as a medium for this entire painting, No retarder or medium used.

      It's easier to understand the values. It's called glazing technique. You start with a monochrome underpainting then apply layers of colors to achieve the skintone. Thank you so much for watching 😊

    I’m usually lazy about doing a monochromatic underpainting first, although I know it saves time in the end. Thanks for sharing each step and explaining the colors you use, the order you go in, and the brushes you choose and why. In the last several months you’ve gotten many new subscribers! It’s obvious why! Great job as always. 🙌🏻

      Yes, you are right. I too feel it's little time consuming compared to the direct approach. But as this technique is more controlled and guided, it will be easier for some people to understand. I always try to show something simple and approachable. Thank you so much for supporting and encouraging words 🙏. Have a nice day 😊🎨🖌️

      I mostly use an earth color under painting for my painting. It consists of Burnt Sienna and Yellow Ochre. Or sometimes Burnt Umber. Or sometimes only Raw Umber. Thank you so much for your comment 🙏😊

    I think I've got my painting's skin tone right - many thanks to you for your suggestions.❤️ A tad darker than what I wanted - so do I lighten it with a watery mixture of Crimson, Ochre and white to lighten it a bit? I know that was your suggestion to tone down pink - but am curious if that combination of colors also will lighten her 'tan'? Thank you in advance - and I hope you have a magical, blessed day!!

    • @DebojyotiBoruahArt
      @DebojyotiBoruahArt  3 года назад

      Definitely it will work for you. As you have already worked on your skintone, you don't need to mix other colors for applying glaze to lighten it up. The underlying layer will show through even if you apply the thin layers. Both the underlayer and your glaze will work together for tone it down. Remember to keep a clean cloth nearby. In case you need some UNDO 😃 Wipe it immediately to clean it up. Hope it will work well. Good luck 👍

    Sir, after each painting ,how to clean brushes and maintain it for long. Normally brushes get spoiled very fast when used with acrylic

    • @DebojyotiBoruahArt
      @DebojyotiBoruahArt  3 года назад

      Yes, you are right. Acrylic brushes are hard to maintain. But only suggestion I can share with you that you wash your brushes frequently in the middle of the painting process. Don't let it dry on your brush. I do wash my brush very frequently. No special solvent needed, use plain water.
