Hey man, I know this is probably a bit weird to write because you just bought this amp, but I would recommend you the Boss Katana 50 mk2 as a practice amp. It has a few built in effects but it's very easy to handle. You can find your ideal sound pretty easily and quickly. It's also pretty much an all in one, you can go from nice cleans, to classic rock, to punk, to pretty much death metal.

My Roland cube sounded somewhat similar. Was good enough to practice on, but ultimately I sold it to buy plugins for recording and just use my speakers as an amp. It's good you found a amp that's every bit as good for a good price though. I paid $400 for mine back in the day.
Just a thought, but have you ever tried a Behringer AC108? Yes it is designed as an acoustic amp, and yes the tube is in the pre amp side, but I know this much...I plugged in my SG one night and messed with the controls and was like WHOA!! ok...we can do Clapton in the Cream days. I have been able to dial in a wide variety of sounds on it. It is basic as you like, and sounds a LOT louder than it looks like it could be. It also records well. The best part is that nobody really knows about them, so they are dirt cheap.

I usually stay pretty far away from the amp when i play, i checked my electronics on my guitar, they're fine, I checked my cable, its fine, and it doesn't squeal when i play clean, i cannot for the life of me, figure it out but it's quite annoying lol
This is normal. There’s likely nothing wrong with your guitar or amp. Even when standing far away from an amp if the gain is set too high it can still cause feedback. A noise gate pedal can stop or at least reduce feedback when the amp is set on high gain.

I play electric guitar, and if you need a cheap amp I would recommend a Fernandez.
