Ah, I thought I recognized Jimmy as the guy on the double-neck. I first knew him from Thunderclap Newman. He has such a "British rockstar" kind of face.
Fantastic, saw Paul play this last night in Brisbane, he's older but it was brilliant and he was AMAZING. I LOVE this song, I wish my Mum could've heard this gem xx
Caught Paul's "Wings Over America Tour" at the LA Forum in 1976. Saw him later at LA's Staples Center in 2002. We had BET's private suite above the stage. Paul was amazing. He was right below us - waved and gave us his "thumbs up". Always a class act!
An absolute honor to have grown up during an era where I could listen to the John, Paul, George, Ringo, Led Zep, Stones, Queen, Aerosmith, The Who, Clapton (in all his iterations), Hendricks, The Police, Cheap Trick, Journey, Heart, Van Halen, Deep Purple, B.S...Ozzy, Yes, The Cars, Prince, Genesis, Peter Gabriel, Def Lep., Jackson 5, Michael Jackson, James Brown, Little Richard, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, U2, Elton John, David Bowie, Frank Zappa, and on and on and on....just an absolute honor and joy to be able to see and hear so much talent.
Paul asked how u feeling. Good u bet I've been 2 3 of his live concerts. Omg the air is electric. Rarefied! Just 2 b breathing the same air as this musical legend is magical. A dream come true 4 me!
McCartney’s riff is a homage to John’s style of guitar playing. The drums are a homage to the plastic Ono sound, betraying how in depth Paul must have been taking that in. This song is a love letter from one genius to another, in whom he’d found his exact match. Together they went from home town, won the entire planet and redefined and invented a whole Parthenon of musical concepts and culture in under a decade.
No entiendo cómo pudo soltar el Rickenbacker, años luz del Hofner para mí. El sonido es gordísimo, tremendo. Lo que hace en Letting go es de otro planeta, también en Wings over America.
I much prefer Paul with the Rickenbacker. It brings his playing to the forefront. I speculate that he uses the Hofner currently for 2 reasons; it very light weight/comfortable, and it's an iconic symbol.
How can you say anything bad about this man, hard rocker let's not forget. Brilliant father and the best husband dear Linda we loved your amazing man such a great example to any man.
Paul McCartneys solo career without the Beatles is so good. I think he knew how to write a pop song better than the rest of them and always did, even though I love John and George’s work too respectively
So many years later that guitar screams Paul sounds fantastic. It's 2022 he is still so hung and playing, thank Jesus some things in life haven't changed

I am happy that my youngest days coincided with the 70s... This was the time of most amazing music, this will never repeat... You can't turn back the time. We can only look back and admire. ❤❤❤
@@jonathanstow9638no, The Beatles had John Lennon and George Harrison as songwriters to elevate the songs far beyond Wings, much more depth. Plus Ringo on drums
Qué voz, de verdad me encanta esta canción que vengo a este video en específico para escucharlo en bucle, Dios mío Edit: luego de un año sigo viniendo todos los días a escuchar semejante obra del gran Macca
The needle drop of this in Licorice Pizza is just so so good
This song and that scene have been stuck in my head for a week
The ONLY good thing about that movie (and the bowie too)
@@leninpartida2470 phulease✋🏽✋🏽that movie is oscarworthy

70s love
I love how loud the bass is
The rasp in Paul’s voice made me melt
Me too 🫠
Same. Every. Damn. Time😭❤️
This is the absolute best!!!! His voice takes me to another level
This is joy! Man is truly happy!
You an a few million others hahahahahahaha
You know the band's good when the quality of the live version exceeds the studio.
More like the production crew was just that good. But yeah man, nobody is this good anymore. Not in the mainstream anyways. It's all went underground
A trick : watch series on Flixzone. Been using it for watching loads of movies recently.
@Reuben Marcellus yea, have been watching on Flixzone for years myself :D
@Reuben Marcellus Definitely, have been using Flixzone for years myself =)
Exactly! We are missing this in music now days. Too much digital b/s out there. We need to get back to our musical footprint.
That bass sound 😍
Tell me about it!!
Yeah, man, that Rick cuts through even on phone speakers, hot damn!
My god, 70’s Paul really was something else. What a glorious specimen of a human being. And he plays bass so sexy too, damn 🔥
He plays the bass sexy? Aren't you a guy? What's the matter with you?
The Wings over America might be the best concert ever. No one does it like Paul.
My favorite live album.
Agreed
Well, the Stones and Stevie Ray Vaughn might differ.
Eagles just joined the conversation. Same year Capital center
There’s so many I don’t even know where to start
Paul writes.... my heart is like a wheel... John writes watching the wheels..
Macca voice here is so good, it was his apex. One of the most versatile voice in music history, also one of the best rock voices.
Completely agree!
@Beatloman 23 is there a only voice version? It would be nice too
Couldn't agree more, I've always said Paul had the best rock voice from the 60's well into the 90's. Sadly he's lost his range.
Rod Stewart, Joe Cocker, Robert Plant, Robert Palmer
@@HughMorristheJoker Also amazing singers, expecially Stewart whos voice really aged well.
I never tire of the guitars in this song. The riff is so simple it’s brilliant. And that razor sharp tone. Perfect.
Denny is so underrated
I absolutly agree @sto620
That’s John Lennon’s tone/style, Paul paying homage to John’s Plastic Ono Band guitar style (see “Cold Turkey”)
The most handsome man to ever grace the planet
James Dean
And the best artist ...music...bass...composer...producer..iconic vocals..etc..etc..for ever
where is Elvis in this video? I missed him
How the hell this song only got 1000 likes? This is a Rock classic.
Classic!!!
Yeah, that is the cream of rock and roll in the golden 70’s.
1:13 That part repeats in my head like a boomerang
BEEEEEST SONG EVER. This song makes me feel great when I sing it at full volume. 💜
Saaaaameeeeee another level of high
Denny Laine and Jimmy McCulloch were terrific guitarists.
Ah, I thought I recognized Jimmy as the guy on the double-neck. I first knew him from Thunderclap Newman. He has such a "British rockstar" kind of face.
People will be listening to this song 500 years from now. Paul McCartney is an all-time musical genius.
The melodies, the hooks, most memorable in modern music...
I love Paul McCartney and Wings. This is a great song !!! 🙂

Wings rock!
THE BASS, MY GOOD LORD
While he is singing, very, very difficult to master.
The Rickenbacker really growls! Awesome!
He’s soooooo damn good on bass 🔥

Memories of High School. The best. Let me roll it.
Wings 1976 Kingdome Seattle. I was in the standing area immediately next to the barrier. Front and Center. Best concert ever. Word.
Saw the wing back in the day. "Let Me Roll It" killer tune RIP Denny Laine

He sings so this so perfectly. Amazing.
I LOVE YOU PAUL
The bass is so majestic :o

To riff off this, "let me roll it to you" is a nice nod to George's "I'd Have You Anytime"
Yep, it’s John Lennon’s “Cold Turkey” guitar riff/tone. Paul paying homage to Plastic Ono Band sound here and I’m here for it
and the lyrics are directly inspired by george’s and dylan’s “i’d have you anytime”
And the tape echo on the vocals in the original recording
The whole concert was a class act
This was the very best version I've heard from Paul McCartney's Let Me Roll It..
Saw this in "76" St. Paul Minnesota. Greatest and first time I actually seen my favorite Beatle in person
You actually got to see this Wings tour? I would KILL to have seen this 😭
watch this video like twice a week every single week
Same
it's all about the bass. as in much of Sir Paul's music
Yes, it's equally important fot the Beatles music on the whole
Still listening to it. Still loving it. I almost wonder if I even like it more than i did as a teenager when it first came out. Nahhhh. Well, maybe.
Still love this.

Rickenbacker all the way. Listen to Geddy Lee, or Yes or Claypool. Hawkwind. Lemmy after Hawkwind. Rickenbacker bass' are the best sounding
