He was the one people followed, the press was fascinated by, the one other guys wanted to play with, the one doing an entire week on a talk show, giving one of the great Playboy interviews, preaching peace and love. And by remaining a bit aloof and not needing the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle and the adulation and even walking away for a while it made him more legendary. There’s a reason 40 years after his death thousands of people still gather in Central Park each year. Clapton and Keef both know how ridiculously good it is to be playing with John.
What

It's pretty straightforward. Keef wanted to play bass with John so much he wouldn't let Bill do it. Clapton literally joined a band with John less than a year later.
They loved to play with John!
Of course not, they knew each othe for long. It was not like they looked at him as a god like many fans do. They were incredible musicians on their own.
This is an absolute classic angsty rock/blues number. All four musos were on song. Mitch Mitchell was a legend of a drummer. Keith on bass was rock solid. Eric on lead, what can you say. Signature styling and added so much to the song. And of course, John. This guy's musical brain is second to none. His voice. The emotion. The rhythm guitar - superb. I reckon he really loved this gig. He was always such a great performer.
He generally looks like he didn't expect Lennon to be so true to the blues soul
When you put The Beatles, Cream, the Jimi Hendrix Experience and the Rolling Stones in a blender, you end up with such a raw, smooth and unforgettable performance. I wish these guys could have cut an album. What we witness here are four great artists at the very top of their game performing.
They could do an album is 3 days.
John could really rock it out when he felt like it. Not only did he sing and write the songs he also played rhythm and lead himself. He makes the rhythm the lead at times. And the little riffs he puts on choruses and such are pure genius.
